“Gun Death” Van

So this story has gotten a HUGE amount of play last week by all sorts of bloggers, and Bob and Linoge both emailed it to me.

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — A 10-year-old boy clambered out the window of a minivan and swam to shore after his mother drove into the frigid Hudson River, killing herself and her three other children, officials said. A relative had called police to report a domestic dispute shortly before.

Lashaun Armstrong was the only survivor after his mother, 25-year-old Lashanda Armstrong, plunged the van into the river late Tuesday in this city 60 miles north of New York City….In the van with Lashanda Armstrong were Landon Pierre, 5, Lance Pierre, 2, and 11-month-old Lainaina Pierre, police said. Her husband and the father of the three dead children, Jean Pierre, was questioned. Police would not give details of the interview or say if the father had been charged with anything.

So 4 kids, one survived, and psycho Mom committed suicide…yet no guns were use, so this isn’t a “Gun Death”. Doesn’t count I guess. So this isn’t a tragic story?

Quote of the Day: Miguel

An Amazing Blog Post here, read the whole thing!

Now, my background is not some idyllic suburban paradise where nothing happens and the rednecks wave the confederate flag with impunity. I am a former Third World Urbanite that has seen the really ugly side of humanity unchecked by lack of morals and “protected” by a government that made self-defense a crime. I had people I cared expire in my arms after being mortally wounded by a criminal with a gun. I have witnessed total strangers being mauled and killed by criminals with guns, machetes and even screwdrivers.

I also have been through total Social Dislocation (them pesky things called rioting and looting) and having to stand guard against crazed mobs woefully unprepared with guns deemed “acceptable” by the Government and your type: A single shot shotgun and a small caliber semi automatic with a 7 shot capacity and a grand total of 30 rounds of ammunition for both weapons. Let me tell ya, it ain’t even close of what you really need. That was the time I was really scared: Unprepared to defend my family and praying real hard that the attitude and some “cocktails” were dissuasion enough for the unruly crowd, and thankfully it was.

Something tells me the anti-rights crowd will chose to ignore this inconvenient truth.

HOLY SHIT D00D CALL THE POLICE!!!!!!

That Motherfucker has an UMBRIZELLA!!!11!!!

Here at Weer’d World we advocate sensible Umbrazella control! We don’t think anybody should buy an Umbrazella without a background check, also nobody should carry an Umbrazella in public without a permit. Schools, Malls, Churches, Offices, Sidewalks, Strip Clubs, Lasik Eye Clinics, Movie Theaters, Cab Stands, National Parks, Funhouses, Tree Houses, Public Houses, Private Houses, and Gun Clubs are all areas where having an Umbrazella is totally unsafe, and these areas should be declared Umbrazella-free zones by law!

Please help us pass sensible commonsense common law against unsensible Umbrazella violence! America is a nation where you have the freedom to never be afraid of an Umbrazella!

BTW for the picture of the REAL Umbrazella there is a picture on the Boston Herald.

There is no reason why any person should have an Umbrazella like that!

Joan Peterson Writes the Perfect Pro-Gun Post

Joan Peterson is insane. The interesting thing about crazy people is they think the rest of us are weird for our behavior or desires, or think we all feel the way they do, and just express it differently.

People like Cat man think we all want to modify our bodies to look like animals, he’s just one of the few with the balls to do it.

But while Cat Man is just a crazy dude, Joan Peterson is a fairly high ranking spokesperson and political leader for both the Brady Campaign and the Joyce Foundation! Yep Joan Got invetations to Brady Campaign meetings and photo-ops, and has been asked by the Joyce Foundation to speak for them to the news.

So not only is she insane, but the major gun control lobbies whom she works for see her insanity and still choose her as a representative.

So now all that being said let’s have a peek at what might be the best pro-gun post written by her.

First she starts off with a pair of shooting stories, one she links wrong, but can be found here, the other here

Both stories are from states with some of the most stringent gun control laws (California and Illinois) involving under age people, possibly with criminal ties, and in the California case in a gun-free zone, a school.

The last is an honest-to-goodness defensive gun use.

The last stories are on campus carry which I can’t add more than is in this thread. Joan’s Take?

The first few headline actual shootings of actual people in public places where presumably we should be safe from shootings. But, of course, shootings can happen just anywhere and to anyone and they do.

Yep that’s why I carry a gun everywhere I go, Joan. That’s a Very compelling argument for private gun ownership indeed!

About 80 a day occur on average, the highest in the civilized world not at war.

80 times 365 adds up to just below 30,000 which is all gun fatalities in America. Its a loaded number because more than half are suicides, and of the remainder some are lawful shootings in self defense, or by law enforcement.

But the Highest in the Civilized world? What’s your definition of “Civilized”? Is South Africa not Civilized? Thailand? Mexico? Barbados? Paraguay? Is your defintion of “Civilized” “mostly White People?” So how about Belarus? Latvia? Estonia? Ukraine? Are these not “Civilized” nations? Or do you just not care if what you say is true or not?

Also why “Gun Death?” why not violent crime? Again the United States is hardly at the top of any of those lists, and many of the nations are hardly 3rd world nations.

The pet store robbery is an illustration of stupidity on the part of the gunmen who tried to rob a pet store, of all things. It is also a case of a justified use of a gun in self defense as the owner had his permit to carry and a loaded gun. He managed to hit one of the robbers without killing him and the robbers were caught. It is also a case of how badly things can go when guns are drawn. One customer ran into a back room and a shot was fired because the robber thought the person was going to get a gun. That shot went through a wall but didn’t hit anyone. Things happen in a hurry in these situations so it’s not easy to think straight with a gun in your hand. In this case no one was killed but one of the comments on the article indicates that the robbers ( low lives) should have been killed. Certainly the young men who tried to rob this store deserve punishment but death?

Yep a store was a frequent target for robbery…you think it’ll be robbed again? Also the gunmen fired first and before they knew the guy behind the counter had a weapon, doesn’t sound like they were reluctant to use force. Again this is quite the pro-gun piece!

I get push back from the other side for my honest views as if I am an evil person who has evil intentions to do them some wrong.

Well you’re not honest, and you preach disarmament even while giving great cases for why lawful and honest people SHOULD go armed. Doesn’t sound like honesty on your part, Joan, no. I assume you understand all these things, given that you work for the major gun control groups in this country, and you have been reading the responses to your posts on your blog, but instead you choose to be dishonest and stand on the side of the criminals? That really is evil.

One side has the majority of public opinion, the other side has power and money.

No, your side doesn’t have power or money….oh are you attempting to claim that the majority of people stand with you? Doesn’t look that way… If most everybody is on your side, why is your side so empty?

The pro-rights side does have money, and that’s mostly because if you have a huge number of people and ask them all to donate a small amount that’s a lot of money. If you have very few people (like anti-gun groups have) they need to donate LARGE amounts of money to get any worthwhile budget. Also Joan holds several director positions within the Brady Campaign and the Joyce Foundation, meanwhile most of the pro-rights directors seem to have their hands full with their personal jobs. Where do you get all the time, Joan?

So there you have it, Joan Peterson makes a great case for gun rights, but then mumbles some blatant lies about why being disarmed is somehow smart.

She’s crazy, but her crazy seems normal to gun control advocates. Does it seem normal to you? Does she seem to have “Common Sense”?

Or does she seem to make an excellent case for why we should have less restrictions on our right to keep and bear arms, and our right to self defense?

Anti-Gun State Spawns Sheep

This story is being talked a lot about around the water cooler.

Police received a call from inside the mall saying that a man was seen shortly after 10 a.m. with a rifle inside the Nordstrom’s department store at the Burlington Mall.

The “gun” was believed to be attached to the man’s backpack.

State and local police searched the mall and evacuated customers and store workers.

Police also set up a perimeter around the mall, an upscale shopping center north of Boston with more than 185 stores.

The man in question, who heard the news of what was happening, called State Police from Lahey Clinic where he reportedly is an employee. The man told police he thought he was the person that was seen in the mall.

After interviewing the man and reviewing security tapes, police determined the man was in fact not carrying a gun, but an umbrella.

Just to solidify how stupid this is read this follow-up.

He was carrying an umbrella with a sleeve that looked like a Samurai sword. It was not a rifle.

It didn’t take me long running security for an Anime Convention that I realized people would report the stupidest things, and overall I’m not going to move on ANYTHING until I have eyes on the problem, or I 100% trust the person reporting to me. I also ask that my staff report serious things directly to me so I can weed out the stupid calls.

If you didn’t, go check out the slide show of the first story. You have a major mall being evacuated and a perimeter set, and full-on-ninjafied SWAT teams in specialized response vehicles…for a man with an umbrella on a rainy day.

An umbrella that looked a little like a samurai sword.

…and with all of this the guy went back to work, and had no idea anything was wrong until he saw the bullshit on the news.

Nice Perimeters Super SWAT!

What’s worse it this call will likely be used to justify next years SWAT budget.

You guys are all idiots. That is all!

Police Support Gun Control

You’ll sometimes hear anti-freedom lobbies claim that their various anti-rights bills are supported by Police, often the quotes or groups are large-city police chiefs. Many of us know beat cops who support gun rights, and relaxing of onerous laws. Many of us also know the reason behind this dichotomy.

The former president of a Boston police union has filed a lawsuit against the city and Mayor Thomas Menino alleging he has been passed over for promotion in retaliation for supporting Menino’s former opponent.

Lt. Joseph Gillespie says in his federal suit filed Monday he has been passed over for promotion to captain three times even though he has the top civil service score of eligible candidates.

I wonder how many of those Chiefs who support various gun bans and anti-rights laws and policies actually do, and how many are simply saying what their politician masters want them to say so they can get the pay and recognition they deserve?

Anti-Gun Plastic Reality

In this post the subject of how anti-gun people view armed people using guns defensively was broached.

The topic naturally lead the question of “What if a good guy had a gun and stopped the Shooter?” came up. The real-life answer is no bodies, no story.

The best example is the New Life Church shooting. An anti-Christian crazy had decided he was going to spree-shoot the mega-church. Only one of the church members had a gun and shot him early in the game. How did the media respond? Well first they did all they could to make the defender look like anything but a normal person with a Colorado Conceal carry permit. She was a former cop, she was “Private Security” for the church, see whatever she did was because of secret ninja-training she had and you could NEVER do what she did. Then comes the belittling of her heroic act. You see she only wounded the shooter…he then shot himself in the head. He had only shot 6 people and killed two, obviously that was all he was going to do despite his multiple arms and large supply of ammo, and his indiscriminate shooting. you see this was different than those other spree shooting, the solution is obviously MORE gun control.

An even more extreme example is the Shooting at the Appalachian School of Law there the shooter was subdued by lawfully armed students and faculty. The media didn’t report it, and in the few cases where they did they reported it wrong, saying Police had subdued the shooter, or even that the students had killed him, when in fact he surrendered. An Inconvenient truth, if you will.

How about Joe Zamudio, the lawfully armed citizen who ran towards the gunshots at the Tuscon shooting. He arrived after the shooter had been subdued so he never unholsted his weapon…except that was him almost shooting innocent people, or almost getting shot himself!

What if Joe Zamudio had actually shot the innocent man who had already helped to subdue Loughner? Imagine that scenario for a minute. What would law enforcement then have done? Would they have thought that Zamudio was Loughner’s partner? I can imagine chaos ensuing here with other folks with their concealed guns getting into the fray. The gun guys only imagine that they would save the day in these situations. Their minds don’t imagine the alternate possiblities.

You see because its impossible for a gun to do ANYTHING good. Jake has this story of a spree shooter being taken out by a lawfully armed citizen, the antis do all they can to marginalize the shooter, he probably didn’t mean it, he probably was just going to run away, he didn’t need to die.

When they aren’t totally ignoring it the Armed Citizen blog is often chalked up as imaginative fabrication, to even covering up of Murder. You see somebody flashing a knife at you and saying “Give me your money”, really has no interest in violence, and if you comply you can totally trust the social contract of money for safety from a street thug. And of you shoot this attacker, well that’s as good as murder, I mean was the $50 in your pocket worth another person’s life? (Of course they ignore any stories where robbery victims are raped, beaten, and murdered AFTER complying with the criminal’s wishes…inconvenient truth)

Oh and if the defensive gun use meshes with statistics, well that person was a racist! I mean the person threatened your life, but only when you saw their skin color did you decide to shoot, right?

You see nobody should carry a gun, or keep a home defense gun, you’re 7,625 times more likely to kill your children and loved ones than to defend your life., and every instance of a massacre being stopped…well that was never a massacre, and every instance of defensive gun use, well that’s a fabrication, or a covered-up murder. No the real solution is more gun control…and just because places with high gun control are REALLY dangerous, well that’s because the criminals go to states with less gun control and get guns, and never once stop to commit crimes along the way.

Really we should just give up our rights now, its for our own good!

Another Entry 1911

So Ruger after rumors and whisper campaigns and press leaks, the SR1911 is officially on Ruger’s webpage. Looks like their first offering (you KNOW there will be loads more optioned out guns) is an all-stainless series 70 (no firing pin block…likely a titanium firing pin for drop safe) with all the “Custom” options that have really become “Standard” in the 1911 world. Really, if you offer a 1911 with a spur hammer and an arched Mainspring housing, and a short bevertail that’s really an “Option” or a “GI Spec” gun, not a standard model these days. Also it appears to have shirked the full-length guide rod that I hate, so good on them.

If it runs well I’d essentially run this gun just how it comes out of the box.

Now the price point is listed at $800, that means in the wild it’ll probably run NIB for around $650-$750 depending on demand. That’s a very fair price, but the price is low because it is not made how the original 1911s were made, no 1911 under $1000 NIB is. That being said, its not 1908, so its very possible that these modern companies have perfected the way to make an inexpensive 1911 that’s as good as the forged and machined, and hand-fitted guns of the past.

I’ll be keeping my eyes out for reviews, and sacrificially endurance tests. Its my opinion that the cheaper you can make the 1911 (without making a lemon) the better, as it exposes more people to the joy that this platform brings.

Oh and for you Massholes, Ruger plays ball with our corrupt attorney general, so there’s a VERY good chance this gun will be appearing in Mass Gun dealers shortly after America has had a chance to run rounds through theirs.

“Gun Death” Bombing

Isn’t it interesting that those who peach the made-up metric of “Gun Death” always seem to claim that a gun is the preferred tool of mass-killing, while ignoring the true preferred weapon, explosives.

Belarus has made the first arrests over the Minsk metro bombing that killed 12 commuters, the worst attack in its modern history which the authorities called a plot to destabilize the country….The country’s security service, still known by its Soviet acronym KGB, said in a statement that 12 people had been killed, nine of whom were identified. A total of 149 people needed treatment, it said.

As a former Soviet State Belarus has very strict gun control….and very strict Explosive control.

Belarus saw bomb blasts in 2005 in its western city of Vitebsk and in 2008 in Minsk. Both explosions, blamed on the nationalist fringe, wounded around 50 people but did not cause fatalities.

Its almost like Gun Control works as well as Explosive control, or the War on Drugs….Maybe we need some REAL Common Sense.

Evening Randomocity

First up “Gunbanner Blog” is awesome, he puts a smile on my face…so much I felt like leaving a comment…and when I tried to do that I laughed that much harder. Your blog is pure excellence, and it makes Joan Peterson Cry! WIN!

Also I was noting that Mozzarella cheese is made from the milk of a cow, or that of a buffalo. So why not start a dairy farm to make mozzarella where you milk Beefalo? It would be perfect, would it not?

Also we could up the anti on Veal! Try this out for size, rather than keep the cow calf in a dark box and feed it milk, keep a beefalo calf in an Iron Maiden, feed it Budweiser, and make it watch Jersey Shore. Dunno if it’ll make the meat taste better, but it’ll get the PETA freaks in easy shooting range…just sayin’
