Where’s the Cheese?

This is a pretty grotesque local story.

A Chelsea man beat his wife over a missing ingredient for the lasagna he was making during “Monday Night Football” hours before she was found dead in their driveway, authorities said.

That’s probably the most reasonable paragraph in the whole mess. From what I gather he was making Lasagna and found the ricotta container in the fridge actually had leftover beans stored in it. I beat the tar out of his wife, and sent a homeless man who was staying with them out for cheese…the guy came back with Beer and Vodka (FYI In Mass you can’t sell Beer, Wine, or Spirits at Grocery or convenience stores, this tells me Mr. Hobo went right to the liquor store with the money)

Hubby beats wife some more and forcibly throws her and some furniture out of the house. He dead body was found in the yard the next morning. An autopsy is being done, to determine the cause of death. I have a hunch…

So far from the reports, no weapons were used. So for those who chime on about “Gun Death” this case is not relevant. Impressive, huh?

Play Me Out: Psychobilly

My recent post on GG Allin has got me to dust off a lot of my punk CDs. Amoung them are my Give Em The Boot Hellcat Compilations. The albums are mostly Punk with a little Ska and Reggae mixed in, there’s also a good deal of Psychobilly. Its a bit of a lesser known genre, and I’ve been rocking hard to it all day, so I thought I’d make up a “Play Me Out” post on it, and see if I open a few sleepy eyes. Let’s start by an intro by Reverend Horton Heat talking about the Genre and playing a pretty iconic song.

One of the first Psychobilly groups I got into was Tiger Army (Sorry Can’t Embed this one, but its a good one)
The hardcore punk overtones, mixed with the fast Rockabilly beats and the singer’s mournful voice mixes in a really surprisingly pleasant way.

There are slower Psychobilly songs, but generally I prefer the driving fast ones. This gem by Nekromantix gains bonus points by putting a bridge in 6/8 time into the song.

Grocery Privateer

Hit up the grocery store today. Rocked a mitt full of coupons, and took advantage of several in-store promotional deals to further amplify my savings. I then limped my truck over to the nearby gas station and entered my rewards card into the pump and got a 20c/gallon discount to my truck that had been pegged on “E” since the New Hampshire boarder last night. While pumping gas I noticed a sign reading “Rewards Card users stop in for a free box of popcorn”, so I grabbed me a warm box of Movie-theater-style corn too.

Yarrrr! I reviled in my spoils! …And then it hit me…when did I become my Father??

GROAN!!

So Yesterday I decided it was time for the Bacon vodka. I’ll do a post on it, but I’ll focus on the problem. Filtration. I first filtered with cheesecloth, which really didn’t do very much at all. So then I re-filtered with a coffee filter which took AGES as the filter clogs after ingesting a mere 4oz of vodka, and still it needs another filtration. I’ll try again. I think I need a pump filter, or maybe a vacuum flask setup for the kitchen. Any ideas? I will say I took a nip of the vodka and It tastes REALLY good, I’ve certainly perfected that part, just need to perfect the filtration.

Also the Mrs. is up in New Hampshire helping her Aunt with some computer issues, she planned to spend the night there, but she failed to pack her Medicine so I had to make a quick trip to NH (they met me half way).

Lastly I was home from the medi-drop, was putting my gun away and decided to futs around with some of my guns. I was looking at the action on my FAL, and was curious how it compared to the wife’s Beretta Ureka shotgun…so I decided to take it apart.

I did a quick clear and function check, then took it down. Got to the point where I was pulling the action out and it got stuck and the op-rod pulled free…then the bolt stuck into the receiver. Turned out I had attempted to take the gun down with the action closed and the hammer down. (WRONG, remove barrel and gas piston, then ease action forward). I managed to cock the hammer, but with the op-rod detached the locking block was locking the bolt in place. I was tired and frustrated so I left the mess in a pile and went to bed. (FYI dissembled is legal under Massachusetts “Safe Storage” laws…isn’t it silly that I had to think about that in a locked house by myself?)

This morning after a cup of tea and breakfast I managed to get the action out, and the gun all back together. Another reason why I love my FAL, that gun comes apart so easily, and there aren’t any goofy puzzle peices and tricks where if you do something in a wrong order you can get yourself into trouble.

Still nothing like an Italian Shotgun to make a gunnie feel humble. 🙂

[The reason this approach is not taken is because the people that support the Brady Campaign and/or the VPC have a solution in search of supporting evidence. They are not searching for a solution to a problem.

It’s like someone looked at the crime rate among people with non-white skin compared to white-skin and used that as justification for laws such as curfews, registration, tracking, and even preemptive imprisonment of non-whites all the while claiming they were intended to “prevent colored violence”. Hence the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence would have a sister organization called “The Brady Campaign to Prevent Black Violence.” They don’t seem to understand that “preventing crime” in this manner is akin to claiming someone is “guilty until proven innocent” as well as infringing on a host of other guaranteed rights.

Gun safes won’t work any better than trigger locks. California has mandated trigger locks and kids still get killed every year from guns that aren’t locked up. (Unfortunately, there is no way to know how many lives are saved by the trigger locks though. Obviously not everyone, but I’m sure some lives are saved.)

You see the people who preach gun control are fixated on “Gun Death” because they already have the “Solution” (banning all guns) so they invented a metric that best pointed to their “Solution” (of course there are lots of stories like this that point that even their fabricated metric doesn’t lead to their “solution”…even outside the US)

But even with this discussed Ubu hops in and without even a touch of shame states that “Safe Storage” laws don’t seem to work because “Children” are still getting shot (I question which definition of “Children” she’s using, as well as what circumstances she’s looking at for them getting shot) but of course the law law MUST be doing some good, even tho she has no evidence, facts, or data to show for that.

Its all wishful thinking, that they pretend is real because that just seems sensible….

Ironik

So here’s a story from across the pond.

Rapper and anti-knife campaigner DJ Ironik has been stabbed by muggers who robbed him of his jewellery.

His name, DJ Ironik. First up we’ll point out this was not “Gun Violence”, so it can’t be counted by our anti-gun forces, so the case is irrelevant to them. But over in the UK where guns are essentially banned the same totalitarian Nanny’s have now turned their attention to knives. Here anti-gun activists will crow on about how they don’t want to ban ALL guns, and how they only want “Common Sense” laws, but let’s face it, the writing is on the walls, not only do these jerks want to ban all guns, they’ll come after your pocket knives next. Where does it end? Well given that humans have been making knives since the stone age (I’d say stone knives and axes actually mark the BEGINNING of the stone age) they may not NEED to go any further, as a piece of flint is all you need to make a “Deadly Assault Weapon”.

Let’s push these fools into the dust bin of history!

Good Cause, Great Price

Besides GOAL The Second Amendment Foundation is probably doing the most work to protect the rights of those of us stuck behind Enemy lines in anti-gun Massachusetts. Seems they’re having a Membership Special. $15 for a year membership, $50 for a 5-year, and $150 for a Life Membership. There’s also a $1000 “Patron” membership too, which I don’t understand.

I just upped for life, and frankly I’m ashamed it took me this long.
