Anti-Rights Airstrike

Man, I’m impressed by how consistent the anti-rights forces can be.

Sean put up a post about the latest Bloomberg Blood Dancing. It gets shared in a Moms Demand Stuff facebook post, and in come a few new faces to Sean’s site.

What do they bring? Thoughtful debate on sensible gun control? Actual mutually beneficial compromise in the gun debate? Anything resembling open-mindedness?

Nope, name calling and ad hominem attacks, as well as some incorrect “facts”. Go have a read, and join in.

What it amounts to is one mentally troubled troll, and a few tag-a-longs saying “me too!”. Sean even put up a response post which was largely ignored.

I was talking to Sean about this and asked him if he knew who any of these people were, as I don’t have facebook and he does. Let’s just say these aren’t loser basement dwellers. I’ll let Sean share that information when he sees fit.

This is the best they have, and it shows further irony to the whole “We need to have a debate on the gun issue”.

  1. Thanks for the link. I wonder about people like that. I really hope that it’s just the Greater Internet Fuckwad theory and not some window into who they are in real life.

I think that generally anybody who’s stridently anti-gun is a horrible person. Not EXACTLY because of the issue, but how they view their fellow man.

Further their idea that every person who legally owns a gun is just one fender-bender or pink-slip away from becoming a mass murderer, they quickly slip into the realm of dehumanizing and state-sponsored mass-murder.

    Weer’d and Sean,

Yes, we get to see a nice slice of human kindness and responsible behavior.

I wasn’t kidding when I commented that I’ve been “on the ‘net” for over 30 years.
In the days of usenet (pre WWW) there were usenet groups sorta like google groups
but not near as ugly an interface. Back then your name and company were in the
header so if you were a troll or just being unreasonable or abusive it could and in the extreme cases come flying back on those. It rarely got that far as that and those that
played that kind of trash were often asked to leave or had their trash taken out.

Now we have sockpuppets, they are easy to trace fortunately. For the most part
    not worth the bother.

Lies, abuse and deceit have no pace in a conversation or a debate. Promoting propaganda which is their whole act is even less attractive. So what they did is materially embarrass themselves and their “cause”. WE as those that belive in both sides and posting all can show that. Those from the antigun side choose to censor
and we have no idea if they are being abused or if it just another of of their fabrications
    to support their lies.

Like I said both of you are to be commended for taking the crap.

For those of us that tried to make a debate of it I offer in Mandarin “gen1 hou2zi5 bi3 diu1shi3” roughly “engage in a feces hurling contest with a monkey”. Getting into a
fight like that is to their enjoyment and not our way. Better to not fight one they show their stuff.

    Eck!

Its really amazing what they come in an say. Its really a good peak at what they think. I see it across the spectrum of online comments- anti gunners calling names and throwing insults, pro gunners using logic and reason.

And they wonder why we don’t trust them.
