I used to have a didge. I could never circular breathe with it, but it really made me a monster at the Tuba.
I was never THIS good. Still since my daughter likes neat sounds, I’ve been thinking about buying (or building) another cheap PVC Didge to mess around with.
Really all you need is a length of PVC pipe and some bees wax to keep your lips from bleeding. Length and gauge will dictate the base sound. Still I don’t know about how to best get the harmonics to work out.
I wonder what would happen if you plugged your tuba mouthpiece in to one?
since my tuba mouth piece was smaller it raised the tone a bit, and since you still have the narrow connector it gets a lot tinieier in sound.
you want your lips expsed to daylight with a didge.
There are some physics calculators online for working out harmonics in tubes, with some looking, there’s probably one that’d be appropriate for calculating a didge.
I just found a really cheap one online, I may just buy that and save the time and tribulations.
