Gay Bashing

Often many cases of anti-gay hate-crimes are perpetrated without the use of firearms. Hell growing up in Portland there were two famous (tho also controversial) cases of Gay Bashing. One involved a gay man being tossed off a bridge to his death, another involved a man being thrown through a plate-glass window, where he bled to death on the sidewalk. This case Was Arson and I’m glad nobody was hurt.

After being victims of an arson and having the word “queers” spray painted on their garage, the lesbian couple is fearful for their safety….

The couple, who have been together for more than 16 years, were in Nashville celebrating the five-year anniversary of moving into their Vonore home, the night it was burned to the ground.

Carol Stutte’s daughter from a previous marriage would have been at the home at the time, but decided to go with the couple to Nashville.

“She would’ve been trapped,” Carol Stutte said.

Carol Stutte said she and Laura have been being harassed and threatened, specifically by one neighbor, on and off for about five years.

While I gun wouldn’t have helped in THIS crime, the women are fearful of visiting their own property. They should seek out their local Pink Pistols Chapter.

I will note that all of the above violent acts did not involve the use of a firearm, so they are irrelevant stories in the eye of anti-gun bigots, who aren’t much worse than the people who made the threats.

Don’t forget one of the most disturbing quotes from an earlier article.

“We are hopeful that the authorities will investigate it fully and that this couple will get justice,”

What does it say about how gays are still treated when someone has to hope that such a blatant crime will be investigated? The anti’s would take away the most effective self-defense tool gays have, in places where the police they want everyone to rely on will refuse to help them – which are also the places gays are in the most danger because the bashers know the police don’t care.

They only care about getting rid of guns, and don’t care one bit about the human cost that would result. Their own fear is all that matters to them.

Violence is violence and has nothing to do with guns or knives or fire. In this case it appears the violence was based on intolerance. The same holds true for anti-rights types in that they want to tell others how to live their lives. I, for one, do not want anyone telling me what I can do or have based on their opinion of what I need. If what I do harms no one, I should be left alone. If what these gay people do harms no one then they should be left alone. I do not believe anyone should be a privledged class and/or have special rights, however the existing protections under the law are adequate. As we all know violent acts are perpetrated by people, not tools, and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
