“Gun Death” Suicide

The anti-rights people love to use the 30,000 Gun Death figure. Of course this figure is dishonest at its core, as it includes Police shootings, as well as civilian justifiable homicides using firearms, but within this number 17,000 of these gun deaths are suicides. What’s particularly callus of this number is that only accounts for 50% of the suicide in the US. So much like murders with weapons other than firearms, anti-rights advocates disregard suicides that cannot be counted a “Gun Deaths”

A Northeastern University lab tech’s suspected suicide by cyanide — 30 miles away from campus — is raising public safety fears over easy access to deadly chemicals days after the ninth anniversary of 9/11.

The 30-year-old NU lab tech — identified by the school as Emily Staupe — was found dead early yesterday morning in her Milford bedroom along with what initial tests show was a plastic bag filled with crystallized cyanide, according to Milford and state police.

Cyanide is very toxic stuff, its also very useful in cellular biology studies because of how it disrupts biochemistry. But of course for those who speak in terms of “Gun Death” this case is irrelevant, as she didn’t use a firearm.

Of course other nannies will make life harder for people doing research using Cyanide because a small number of individuals misbehave. So in the end its all very similar….

And if she’d been found dead in her car with a hose running from the tail pipe to the passenger compartment, they’d make it harder to get cars and garden hoses.

Wonder if the nannies will ever stop and consider the law of unintended consequences.

By making it harder to commit suicide in private; how many people have resorted to “automobile accidents”, “suicide by cop” or ‘accidents” in public where more people are jeopardized or injured.

So by interfering with people’s right to end their life;the nanny state may actually be jeopardizing more lives.

And isn’t ironic that one of the favorite refrains from the far left is people should be able to do what they want with their life, guess that only applies if it is smoking dope, GLBT sex, abortion, etc.

Well Bob, a few years ago Dr. Lott was in Japan. He mentioned how often the trains were late because of suicides. Being the economist that he is he noted the number of people economicly impacted by these deaths compared to suicides in America.

I know somebody who was singled out to “assist” a suicide. She was driving an SUV and he was standing on the overpass looking for the biggest truck to do him in.

Total stranger, but he really did a number on her with his public suicide.
