Yeah, go see it!
Don’t wanna take the Weer’d word? Listen to Linoge, he nailed that review.
Not only is it a period piece on screen, I think it takes a lot of storytelling notes from kids adventure movies from the 80s.
Also, holyshits where did they get so many rock-solid child actors for one film???
We saw it with some friends from the area, and one of them looks like a 20something version of the main kid. It was wacky.
Weer’d movie reviews have been 100% for me so far. Ok, so the only other one was to stay the heck away from avatar, which I dutifully obeyed and it worked for me ! If I can get a couple of hours free, I do plan to check out Super 8
Agree! Saw it with our 13 yo daughter. She said it was a great movie.
I had to step out for a call and just as I sat back down a big boom happened (bus on highway) and I jumped. Haven’t startled in a movie in a long, long time.
Our theater offers $5 matinees then tries to rob you for $20 popcorn and pop. Go early. Enjoy a fantastic PG-13 movie with your PG-13 kids.
Yeah, the ability of the kids to act was rather impressive… I mean, sure, I wanted to throttle the fatty by the end of it, but that is because he was playing his role to the hilt!
This can undoubtedly become one of the surprise hit of summer, 20011. I haven’t had so much fun watching a film since first seeing Close Encounters. Although, the movie’s title might be quiet deceptive, the film itself is a must-see. Totally fun, exciting, adventurous, and thrilling. The special effects are mind-blowing, the kid’s characters were believable, and the script was written to kept even the most calm natured, on the edge of their seats. The film is actually a story within a story, but it never loses its sense of reality blended in a very science fictional plot. Its early seventies setting has a sort of magical effect on the senses, a walk down memory lane with some of the hit songs played in the background. Do not cheat yourself. This is a must movie for your family to see.
