Well, they’re certainly getting tons of linkage from gun bloggers.
This is why I am happy in my silt covered nest at the bottom.
I don’t get too concerned about this kind of linkage. I get linked all the time from various blogs, but that traffic dries up very quickly.
For me every big bump the traffic always settles down a bit higher, but I assume its some people find my blog and think its worth dropping in their RSS feed.
These guys are trolls….and their content isn’t even good troll fodder. It won’t last.

McThang, all my links are rel=nofollow so he gets no SEO boost from me. The only thing he might see is an increase in traffic from citing his ass, but people can look at the screenshots too.

It’s actually pretty easy to issue a nofollow, like how you would do a normal link with href=”website” before issuing the close bracket add a rel=”nofollow”. Bang, it is no longer indexed off your site.

Anyway, I always just think these things are funny–the complete lack of common sense in some people who are trying so hard to do something, where a person with a mere dollop of decency would have been much more successful… ah well, the internet needed another black hole of suck and fail.
Leaving out the fact that they called me a Knucklehead (it’s Bubblehead, a term of “Endearment” used by Surface Sailors, Airdales and others in the U.S. Navy Family), here’s what I think is happening. They Steal your Profile, then they Claim they have Fair Use, then down the Road they will Claim they OWN it, then they will try to sue to the Original Blog Owner, and if they can’t Pay Up, then they get to shut them down. Kinda like that so-called News Org that claimed Fair Usage for the Stories they got, then sued others for using them.
But I think they forget that a Federal Judge shut down that Operation.
However, if they are so concerned about Honesty, where’s their “Curriculum Vitae?” Anybody recognize the 2 Female Youths from Blogshoot/Meets, Shot Show, NRA Conventions, etc? I sure don’t.
Something tells me that they are a Front for a Phishing Group and are Trolling for Privacy Bait at best. Too bad some of the Gun Blogging Community has some very Good Lawyers as Friends.
Or they could be a Feeble Attempt by the Anti-Gunners to shut down the Gun Blogging Community.

This is a very real concern, doubly so for any blog started AFTER the creation of Smoke and Mirrors.
Trying to claim ownership of my blog will be a bit difficult as my blog will turn 4 this Boomershoot. (Isn’t that neat, my blog birthday coincides with Boomershoot).
However while I have this luxury, new people are starting blogs every day, all of these new blogs will very easily be vulnerable to said attack.
My biggest problem with him is one he bashed bloggers. Yeah here’s a gigantic fuck you bub. I wrote a nice response to all that bitching he did about bloggers too, haven’t heard a single response. I would point out I cited examples, however he, like an anti-rights bitch, cited nothing but feelings.
The lesser problems:
He’s creating user profiles and then trying to claim he’s a review site like Yelp. Umm, I don’t think he understands the difference between social media and a review site. While review sites have users, they don’t pre-create profiles for their users. They will create profiles for things being reviewed, with a note that it was USER generated. That note is quite visible and easily seen instead of hiding in fine print, in between two sections of large print.
Lastly, when people don’t want to be associated with his site he resorts to being a dick instead of properly choosing his battles. If he was polite he wouldn’t be in the shit right now.
Why do gunbloggers have to be ‘reviewed’ at all? Can’t they visit and see for themselves if they like what you write?
No, Les, he wants to get good Google Fu in order to drive good traffic from search engines, at which point he can sell advertising, and then sell the site.
Everyone who wants to see him succeed should keep talking about him. Positive or negative, it doesn’t matter, just keep talking. Link a lot, too.
Wow, this one has red flags all over it. I can’t wait until this guy is uncovered for who he really is. Judging by the ability I’ve seen from this group in the past, it shouldn’t be long.
So much for that. I had planned to open up a new media forum that isn’t a blog for new gun people and insult all of the current gun bloggers and be a troll and be a jerk and steal identities and lie and copy content and argue on blogs and spin falsehoods.
Now I can’t because how could I possibly compete with them?
