Keyboard + Drool = Kilgore!

LOL gotta love it when Jason Kilgore of Ceasefire Oregon sneaks out of his protected little home to write a post and express his stupidity to where others can comment.

People I’ve talked to are shocked to find out there’s no law against people bringing concealed, loaded handguns onto school campuses if they have a concealed handgun license in Oregon.

Betting he doesn’t do that much. Also I wonder if he points out that in places where the states DO restrict carry, you can carry across the street, legally, but that imaginary line…

Incidents have happened. This March, in Walsenburg, Colo., a volunteer track coach with a concealed handgun license was on school grounds when he accidentally shot himself with his recently purchased handgun, nearly dying. Last September, a security guard here in Oregon lost his gun while patrolling schools in the Salem-Keizer School District. As far as I know, the gun was never recovered. In both cases, the gun was legal on school grounds.

Well there we are, he has two dissimilar antidotes of bad things happening! We should obviously relinquish our rights!

Of course Mr. Kilgore in his limited wisdom wouldn’t call for bans of driving on campus despite multitudes more drunk driving incidents on any given campus….guns are different because they are different!

The solution that I and other advocates suggest is to mandate safe storage of guns at home to keep kids from getting unsupervised access to them.

Actually I know a person who disagrees with Jason Kilgore! BALDR ODINSON!!!

.Pro-gun activists like to claim that locking a gun is enough to keep it out of children’s hands, but most teens, when questioned away from parents, admit that they are able to get the key or know the combination.

Of course “Baldr Odinson” IS Jason Kilgore. Funny how “reasonable” he is! And even if the more conservative stance was the true one, he thinks you should lock up your guns…but not your blades!

If you wish to head off further attempts to allow guns in our schools, there are things you can do. Go to booksnotbullets.com and sign petitions for our local school superintendents, join the Million Mom March and Ceasefire Oregon in a rally against gun violence at the Eugene Water & Electric Board Plaza at 2 p.m. on May 13, call your state legislators, contact your school board, and help spread the word.

Tell them our children deserve to study and play in an environment free of firearms.

Good luck with that Jason. I don’t think any of those groups could fill a Minivan, but you go for that! Further I love how Gun Bans = “environment free of firearms”, because that’s always true.

I’ll close with a quote from the comment section from Ryan J. Daugherty:

Yeah…2nd Amendment TOTALLY doesn’t apply at public universities. But then, if it doesn’t, neither does the 1st Amendment…or any other Amendment…

Anti-freedom, not anti gun!

Oh BTW somebody is declaring “Abuse” for every pro-gun comment (of which all are, I assume its Kilgore himself) so if you got a moment follow the link and “vote up” all the comments to stop the abuse!

    “Book snot bullets”?

    I don’t even want to know…

Handy that in half of their “examples” they cite an “only one”.

I suppose all that mandated training, insurance, and being a member of an official organization doesn’t count in the Anti’s eyes if they can make some hay.

Nice to see an almost platonic example of “Won’t somebody think of the children!”

Of course schools are the anti’s dream world. A cadre of elite “adults” that oversees and educates a mass of unfit rabble that definitially have less rights than their “teachers”. Sure there’s “discusions” and even elections but they’re all shams as the majority has no real power over their overlords.

So the idea of people being able to carry on campus, even security gaurds (hah!), is athema to them. Watch ’em blow their stacks on students carrying, even if said student is actually an adult and voilating no laws.

Campuses are the strongholds and the biggest hothouses of anti-thinking, of course popping that coccon will anger up their blood.

Yeah you aren’t wrong about Colleges being anti-rights hotbeds.
      http://thefire.org/article/5063.html

They believe in rights so long as the rights are exactly how THEY would do it!

Free Speech is awesome for groups wanting to ban guns on campus or to overlook the criminal transgression of Illegal Alien criminals.

Not-so-much when it comes to things like guns on campus, or dropping services to make tuition more attainable….

    • Greg Camp says:

I’m a college instructor–English, no less–and I support gun rights, including the right to carry on campus. Many of us have seen the light.

      • Weerd Beard says:

There are lots of educators who do, not to mention the deluge of vets on the GI bill who are not only proficient with firearms and of the age where they can legally carry, and probably aren’t hitting Frat row on ‘Thirsty Thursday’, but know that a gun is a good thing to have around just-in-case that are making up a big bulk of college admissions.

Of course for the antis, those people are discounted. Like the entries in the “Gun Death?” Files, and people who have defended themselves from violent crime, they are not THEIR victims.

        That’s compassion!

  3. Bob S. says:

    I’m confused by the comments.

I see 2nd Amendment advocates commenting (and not shooting the author) and not one anti-gun comment in the bunch.

Where is the huge support for gun control that I keep hearing about? Or are all those people too busy at the Occupy Movement drinking their Starbucks, reading the WaPo on their iPads, while sleeping in their Columbia sleeping bags wearing their Northface Gear to comment?

  4. Cargosquid says:

The article claims that he was a survivor of a shooting.

Was he shot? Or shot at?
Or did he WITNESS a shooting?

    • Weerd Beard says:

Given that he has a amazing capacity from dishonesty, from the standard lies of the antis like “Gun death” and claiming dangerous places are safe, and safe places are dangerous, to having “Jason Kilgore” chime in his support of “Baldr Odinson”, or the petitions I’ve found that are signed by both himself and his alter ego, I wouldn’t be surprised if the alleged “Gun Death” doesn’t exist.

Or it could be a similar situation where I had. I went to high school with this guy. He was a dick. His senior year he went to Walmart and bought a shotgun and killed himself with it. I can’t say that was a bad move for him…but I guess I’m a victim.

Certainly Jason has given me ZERO reason to take his word for ANYTHING he says.

  5. Archer says:

Ya know, that security guard that lost his gun…. How can I put this politely? HE DOESN’T HAVE A CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT! Security guards fall under the “uniformed armed security” exception and would be allowed to carry on any school property even if they “fixed” the “CHL loophole”.

And the track coach that had a ND? Those could happen anywhere, and he is no less at fault for it. Although if their employment agreement is anything like our school employees’, he’s probably out of a job for carrying on campus even with a permit. It’s not illegal, but it violates the terms of employment.

Support the Students for Concealed Carry on Campus (www.concealedcampus.org). They’re working to make REAL positive change.
