“Gun Death” Auto Theft

Maybe we should have a lost-and-stolen car law?

A motorcyclist was hit and killed by a stolen SUV on Uvalde Road late Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s office.

According to officials, the driver and passenger in the maroon Isuzu Ascender, reported stolen in an earlier car-jacking, were speeding when they hit Thomas Hooper, who had just pulled his motorcycle out of a parking lot near the Woodforest intersection.

“The motorcycle and the rider of the motorcycle became entangled in the Isuzu,” HCSO Sgt. Mike Harvey said. “They pushed him for 50 yards before he was dislodged, and they continued to push the motorcycle for another 100 yards before the motorcycle caught on fire.”

When the SUV burst into flames, the driver finally stopped, investigators said. Witnesses say they saw both men flee the scene.

Hooper was taken to East Houston Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Hey, but cars are different than guns because “Progressives” like to drive!

One Response to “Gun Death” Auto Theft

I agree. If this were a stolen gun resulting in “Gun Death”, we’d be hearing ALL about how the irresponsible gun owner is at fault for failing to secure it, the NRA is at fault for rallying against such “common-sense” measures, and the gun manufacturer is at fault for making their guns so deadly. Any evidence/photos the gun owner provides that he/she has a good safe that was nevertheless broken into would be disregarded and/or not reported.

    [sarcasm]
I hereby demand that “common-sense” car regulations be enacted to force irresponsible car owners to “lock up” their vehicles against theft! 95,648% of Americans support expanding “car control” laws, including universal background checks on ALL car sales, stricter regulations on “assault SUVs” (vehicles with one or more “sporting” features), and bans on “high capacity” vehicles that hold more than 5 people or 6 gallons of fuel (it’s explosive, you know, and I’ll hear NONE of this nonsense about “standard capacity” fuel tanks!). We also must call for a repeal of the PLCAA (Protection of Lawful Commerce in Automobiles Act), to allow lawsuits against the irresponsible manufacturers of these death machines with no safety features whatsoever! Tell your legislators to act in the interest of America, and not bow to the special interests of the AAM “car lobby”!

Yeah, I know it sounds dumb. HOWEVER, that should cover most of the anti-gun points, and it’s not like they sound any smarter when THEY say it! 🙂
