Reminds Me of a Few People

I am fucking addicted to Don Shipley’s videos.   There I said it,  and I swear I’m going to sling Dan some money on his subscription service.

So whenever I have a chance I watch his videos. I just finished this one:

Boy that shitbag reminds me of a few dicks who harassed me back during the golden years of Blogging. I’m sad that blogging is kinda dead, but I’m not sad that the parasites that clung to it are also gone.

Just curious I looked him up, because the housing development looks kinda like where my Father-in-Law lives…..turns out all the housing developments look like that, and I’ve never even been near that jerk’s house.

But my quick search pulled up some VERY interesting results.

An unusual copyright infringement lawsuit–that included outlandish claims of terrorist plots and child pornography from a national veterans group, and drew a counterclaim for libel and defamation–may have come to a sudden, and tragic, end when its embattled plaintiff died in a plane crash only days after his release from jail.

Daniel A. Bernath, 68, of Fort Myers was killed in the Jan. 22 crash. According to a Fort Myers News-Press report. Bernath’s two-seat Vans RV-12 airplane crashed in a wooded area of Bonita Springs.

Described by the website Oregonlive as a Social Security lawyer, Bernath’s prior troubles included a reported scuffle in an elevator with a judge in Portland, Oregon, in 2010.

In 2015, Bernath filed a copyright-infringement suit against Mark Cameron Seavey, later amending the complaint to include the infliction of emotional distress. Seavey, an inactive attorney and media specialist, blogger and reporter for the American Legion, answered that suit by filing a claim against Bernath alleging libel and defamation.

The lawsuit against Mr. Seavey is one of the things he’s babbling about in the video….It turned out as well as anybody would expect.

On Dec. 27, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida awarded Seavey $500,000, special damages of $135,000 and attorney fees of $195,000. The American Legion was awarded $300,000 in general and punitive damages. The total amount was approximately $1.3 million.

Bernath filed an appeal Jan. 8 even though he had been incarcerated since September in the Hampton Roads Regional Jail in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was released from custody just a few days before his death.

Yep he lost, and he was in Jail because the Shipley’s filed a restraining order against him, which he violated.

So yeah, he’s Dead, and I must say, that doesn’t upset me a bit, as every news report on his death seems to lead with what an abject piece of shit he was. FYI people this is the whole point of life, make for a good Eulogy when you go, because in the end that’s all you have….and Dan Bernath sure fucked that up.

Still as a Gun Blogger I MUST dive a bit into some things in my wheelhouse for this.

#1. Even though he was ON VIDEO, and Mr. Shipley was in constant contact with the Sheriff, it doesn’t sound like he was charged with illegally open carrying a firearm. (I’ll note that 90% of the video he’s on his private property with the holstered weapon, but on several occasions he steps into the streets, and it appears he’s still packing the rod when he goes for his random bike ride. I would assume with Mr. Bernath’s long history of crazy lawsuits, the local constabulary wasn’t interested in booking him on a lesser charge….

#2. Anti-gun nuts claim that we need to revoke permits for all sorts of minor crimes for public good, yet this guy who is a CLEAR nut still had access to an AIRCRAFT! He parked that plane on a GOLF COURSE in the middle of the day in Florida. It’s pure luck he didn’t kill anybody.

Also I REALLY have to wonder if his mental state had ANYTHING to do with that crash.

Either way, I’m glad to read that news, monsters like him cause a lot of trouble and a LOT of sleepless nights to good people.

**UPDATE** I found this news report…sounds like his cheese slipped off his cracker

    Dear Mr Beard,
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

    Dan Bernath; Dead Fake SEAL.

Happy Dan Bernath Day, January 23. Flags are flying at full mast, at my house we actually fly the flags at double mast and throw a town wide fireworks show.
