“Gun Death” Soccer

Of all the sports related deaths, those surrounding Soccer seem to be the most common.

A footballer has died from an injury suffered on the pitch following a horror challenge during an Indonesian Premier League match.

Persiraja striker Akli Fairuz was injured after taking a boot to the body from PSAP Sigli goalkeeper Agus Rahman as the pair raced for the ball in the area.

Players, clearly incensed by the tackle, clashed on the pitch while the referee had to be moved away by security.

BAN SOCCER!!! It’s dangerous, the fans can’t handle the competition, and it just simply isn’t American!

A Very Special Episode of Handgun Radio

So I pitched this idea to Ryan long before my first appearance on Handgun Radio, it’s been a popular subject on gun-related podcasts.

What is it like to own guns in Massachusetts?

Most of you readers probably know the gist of it, still should be a fun show for all!

Watch here or listen to it from the Firearms Radio Netowrk.

Propaganda peices

Sometimes you have to be amazed at the amount of blind faith anti-gun people have in their failed ideology:

That is what finally happened with REDACTED, 22, after six more innocent people were slaughtered, the last four — including the shooter, wh o had to kill some people because he couldn’t get a date — with semiautomatic weapons that always make the killing good and fast.

And then the next paragraph:

You are already hearing that the background checks for which gun control advocates practically have to beg for in America really don’t work, because REDACTED passed background checks and purchased his SIG Sauers and Glock 34 legally. You are hearing that it’s a waste of time to put limits on magazines and ammunition, because here was this horny college kid with 41 10-round magazines in his possession; and that the killing started for REDACTED with him knifing three people to death.

It makes you think all over again that those who preach sanity on this subject are doing nothing but shouting at the ocean, or just trying to be heard over the sound of more gunfire.

So he killed six people, half of them with a knife, and I suspect THOSE killings took a lot less time than the shooting victims. Also several of the injured were hit with this dude’s car!

Still what are you wringing your hands about? YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED!!! California has a handgun “Safety” roster that meant these guns were kosher for California sale. They have an “Assault Weapons” ban so he didn’t have a scary looking rifle. They have magazine bans, so his ammo was all in politically correct 10-round boxes. They have the background checks and registration! They have their gun free zones so if this guy hadn’t suck-started his gun after he crashed his car they could have charged him with illegal carry!

But it does not change the fact that it is far too easy for these people to get guns, legally or illegally, especially the kinds of guns that REDACTED used to kill the people he killed and wound 13 others.

What “Kind of guns” are you prattling about now? Is it the fact that both of his guns were semi-auto that is now your issue? Do you want to tell me he would have done LESS damage if he had used only revolvers? Just owning guns is bad enough for him…or knives I guess.

He closes on a ridiculous one:

This is Memorial Day 2014 then. We mourn more dead college kids along with those who laid down their lives for our freedoms, mourn more innocents gunned down on the real modern battlefield:

The streets of the United States of America.

Yeah, except once you get away from places where your dream laws don’t exist, suddenly the shooting stops…well you’ll hear shots, but it’s just Americans having safe fun at ranges on their day off.

Anti-Gun War on Women

So the Brady Campaign is blood dancing:

“We at the Brady Campaign stand with Mr. Martinez. He got it exactly right. Americans are dying every day because of the corporate gun lobby and the politicians it has in its pocket.

Real solutions exist that are supported by the overwhelming majority of Americans — solutions that would prevent many of the 90 gun deaths that happen in our nation every day. And yet, the corporate gun lobby relentlessly blocks progress toward every commonsense solution. It gives substantial sums of money to buy politicians to ignore the will and well being of the American people — by opposing expanded background checks; and calling research into gun violence ‘unethical.’ These politicians do not care who is buying guns – convicted felons, domestic abusers, rapists – just as long as the corporate gun lobby is happily making the biggest possible profit.

And how would any of their proposals stop this? Also if the “overwhelming majority of Americans” support them, where is their support? They claim the NRA’s money is driving the support away, but what is Michael Bloomberg’s money doing? Where is HIS support?

Given that the shooter was a rampant woman hater, and implies that all he needed was a warm body to lie with, should they demand that women sleep with every hateful, disrespectful loser that propositions them? Makes about as much sense. Especially given that these shootings always happen in gun control strongholds created by groups like the Brady Campaign.

Also I’ll add this bit from Moms Demand more Defenseless women:

So yeah,if we do the right thing and lift the ban on lawful carry from schools, the anti-rights people want to know WHO’s carrying. To what end? So that they can urge parents to boycott the safest schools? So they can teach school shooters who to shoot first?

Personally I see this as a hand-tip. They KNOW that places that ban weapons of protection are the places targeted by spree shooters. Further they use spree shooters to demand more bad laws. So by crippling armed people, they don’t stop the blood for which they dance!

Today We Remember

It’s Memorial Day, and while it is a well-needed day off from the hustle and bustle, and generally good summer weather for cookouts and picnics, we must remember why we have this day, and how potentially we might not.

Hopefully I’m not being too trite, but this weekend the wife and I got a chance to watch Captain Phillips while the grandparents took care of LaWeer’da. It was a really good movie. My take away was it pissed me off how defenseless the crew of the ship was left to the pirates, and an unarmed vessel can easily fall prey to a savage rabble or disorganized and starving pirates. Thankfully the shipping companies have changed their policy and vessels in dangerous waters have security teams which seem to be working quite well.

My wife really enjoyed all the scenes with the SEAL team working, and offhandedly remarked that we’d probably be better served by simply having more SEAL, Special Forces, and CIA teams doing much of the work of our military rather than the general armed forces. She had a point, but she also missed a point. Much of what our military has been ACTIVELY doing has been getting involved in wars on behalf of other people.

But these battles involve OTHER people being invaded, and other people being oppressed. Why hasn’t that happened to us? Simple, lots of nations would LOVE the US to be a colony for their nation, but we have brave men and women that make that an impossibility. We have shown our force, and many have died in doing so, and really that IS why we are free.

So today I enjoy the good weather, and the time off, but I don’t forget WHY!

And Now for Some Feel-Good Ducks!

It’s Baby Duck time, and I LOVE it! Been seeing yellow fluffy cute-balls all over the area recently!

So here’s some stories of duck babies! First from Motor-T

Traffic came to a stop Thursday afternoon on Beltway 8 northbound at Highway 290 as drivers got out of their vehicles to save a group of ducklings running across the lanes.

Unfortunately, the mother duck was hit by a car and died.

…Eleven of the chicks were taken to Texas Parks and Wildlife Center of Texas on Old Katy Road.

I’m glad the babies are in a safe place. Still I have mixed feelings. I would rather dozens of ducks get splattered on the highway than one person injured trying to protect them. I’m glad this didn’t happen, but boy, I don’t think it was wise.

Now from AZRon:

A cop stopping traffic is a LOT better, given that he likely had a vehicle with flashing lights.

Remember! Be kind to our web footed friends because a duck could be somebody’s mother! 🙂

Anatomy Of a Mass Shooting, and Gun Control

So you all have heard about the UC Santa Barbara mass murder. Let’s look at the details:

The gunman who killed six people in a furious shooting rampage near the University of California, Santa Barbara began the spree by stabbing to death three people in his home, police said tonight.

So first up we have “Gun Death”, they call this a mass shooting, but HALF of the murder victims were killed with a knife. Not only do only “Gun Deaths” count to the anti-rights activists, but I was actually unaware of this. So the six dead have been all counted as “Gun Death” from what I’ve read about it in the gun and anti-gun blogs

Police said three guns were recovered from REDACTED‘s car. Police said he had more than 400 rounds of ammunition.

“All were legally purchased from federally licensed dealers and all were registered to the suspect,” the sheriff said.

So legally bought guns, but there’s more:

Brown said cops have had three previous contacts with REDACTED before Friday’s shooting, including when a member of REDACTED‘s family asked police to check on him because of alarm over his behavior and videos. Brown said the cops found no reason to take further action on REDACTED.

One of the other incidents occurred in January when he made a citizen’s arrest of his roommate for allegedly stealing three candles, and again in July 2013 when he claimed he had been assaulted. Police determined that REDACTED may have been the aggressor, Brown said.

REDACTED was being treated by multiple therapists and was a student at Santa Barbara City College, said family lawyer Alan Schifman.

So he was a troubled individual and the family was well aware of this, further the “Citizen’s Arrest” story sounds like it could have been prostituted and not only would have possibly left this guy with a background that would bar him from owning guns, but possibly make it easier to get the help he needed.

All of this is speculation as some people are broken, and this story sounds like this guy was one of them, the best medical services in the world might not have helped him, and given that he was an adult, family may not have been able to help him.

Still what is the family’s response?

**UPDATE** I got confused with the names, and it turns out this man is the father of one of the victims. I know nothing about his son, and so I will take him at his word. Still I will note that as below California is the home of the ANTI-Gun lobby, and because of that some of the most restrictive laws are in place there. Further a College campus in California is the perfect storm of gun control. The NRA had no influence on this shooting, and your blame is offensive. I’m sorry for your loss, but your words do your son no justice.

The remainder of the post assumes this man was the killer’s father, sorry for any confusion, but I will leave the rest unedited just because I still stand behind my words. **END UPDATE**

Yep it was the fault of somebody else! Never mind that it was in insanely anti-gun California, and on a college campus “Gun Free Zone”, and of course we have the illegal activity of shooting at people and carrying a loaded weapon without the necessary permits. Never mind that their family had far more contact and influence over this killer than anybody else in the world. Also your kid was NOT a “Great Kid”, Great kids don’t do this. Even mentally ill people don’t do this. He was a monster, you likely know it, and fostered it, and now you want others to deal with the blood that is on YOUR hands.

In the end the event ended with the police (good guys with guns) engaged the killer and him taking his own life. Also for those willing to search it out, the killer made a youtube video talking about his plans. I won’t link it because I will not glorify him. I will note that he seemed deeply delusional, had a plan he wasn’t able to execute, and made statements of victim-hood based entirely on disillusion of grandeur.

Sorry, but the problems leading to this have NOTHING to do with gun control or politics, and everything to with a wealthy “Progressive” family calling an adult man who murdered 6 people and severely injured many others a “Good Kid.

“Gun Death” Immigrant Beating Death

In California too!

Sentencing has been delayed by more than a month for an Iraqi immigrant convicted of the beating death of his wife in what police initially believed was a hate crime.

… Prosecutors said he killed her because she planned to divorce him. The couple’s eldest daughter found her in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. She died two days later.

A note found nearby read: “This is my country, go back to yours, you terrorist.”

That set off a hate-crime probe, but investigators determined it was a photocopy.

Remember, California has a low “Gun Death” rate!

“Gun Death” Kidnapping

Wow this is a bad one!

Two men in southern New Jersey kidnapped a 41-year-old woman, duct-taped her mouth and eyes and buried her alive in a field after pouring lime on her, authorities said.

Thank goodness New Jersey has such strict gun control laws, otherwise this woman might have been armed and this MIGHT have been a gun death!
