Tone Deaf

So Sarah Silverman is a “Comedian” (scare quotes used because isn’t there a requirement to be funny?) who is both anti-gun and severely ignorant of them posted this horrible video:

Colion Noir posts a response:

Sorry we Already have a “Black NRA”, its called “The NRA”. That was one thing I was very pleased with the NRA show turnout in Houston this year. Not only was it a record-breaking attendance, but the crowd looked like America. What I mean is it was mostly white, but there were huge numbers of blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and other races there. Also the most women and children I’ve ever seen at any gun show.

Yeah, mostly white, because America is indeed mostly white, but just because you are a different color doesn’t mean anybody cares. Further think of what’s happening when you see a large gathering that is mostly Black, or Mostly Hispanic, etc. America has a HUGE white population, and if they aren’t showing up what is excluding them?

No, freedom-loving groups are color-blind, and I’m glad to see that people aren’t intimidated by the propaganda claiming somehow the NRA is an all-white organization.

Oh BTW I met Mr. Noir at the show and got a chance to chat with him for a little while. He was working hard getting T&E guns for his channel and website, but as soon as he stopped chatting with company reps there was another fan shaking his hand. I had to wait in freaking LINE to say “Hi” to him.

Yeah sorry, we already have a “Black NRA”, but we don’t call it that because the NRA doesn’t care what color you are, and why does a white non-practicing Jew like Silverman care so much? Oh yeah because she’s racist!

**UPDATE** Cowardly anti-rights racist Cowards removed their stupid video from Youtube, but Mike still has it up on his site!

A Day To Remember

On this day at this approximate time in 2001 I was about 5 miles off the coast of Vinalhaven Island, Maine doing contract research work. My nightly duties were done and I had thrown myself in my rack exhausted. I hadn’t slept long before the captain woke me up to let me know that America was under attack.

As I watched the towers fall on live TV, floating offshore, I felt like the work I was doing was so petty. I called my boss back in Portland to ask if he wanted us to continue our work, or return to port. He wanted the survey completed, and we weren’t to let the act of terrorism effect our work.

It felt good to be so far from civilization, for there lie peril. I felt the very opposite after the Boston Marathon bombing as I was surrounded by people, and felt very much like a target.

Still these reflections are not all of American resilience. We now get sexually assaulted and deprived of our 4th Amendment rights every time we travel by air, and our President is currently arguing that we should send American troops to fight for the very bastards who attacked us this day.

I remember watching the towers fall and feeling very sad for those killed, but also noting that those lives were just a drop in the bucket compared to the total of the American people. My research work continued, as did many other jobs. I couldn’t imagine how the Terrorists might win.

Only they did…at least in some senses.

I remember today, for the worst thing is to forget and carry on like nothing ever happened.

Thank You Colorado

Your actions yesterday have helped more than just your district, and more than just your state. You helped the entire nation yesterday!

Senate President John Morse of Colorado Springs and Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo lost their jobs as lawmakers in an election seen as a national measure of popular support for gun legislation. They were replaced by two gun-rights Republicans.

Angered by new limits on ammunition magazines and expanded background checks, gun rights activists filed enough voter signatures for the recall elections — the first for state legislators since Colorado adopted the procedure in 1912. The recalls prevailed despite some $3 million in contributions for the incumbents.

The big news is that those $3 Million were mostly from Michael Bloomberg personally to install New York-Style politicians in Colorado. This isn’t Colorado-Centric, this was just the first attack, and it failed badly, as this was the first time Coloradans have felt the need to issue a recall, and not surprising, considering that, it was successful.

On the bi-partisan side, I’ll note that the RNC encountered the same issue with Scott Brown. They attempted to install a Republican in ultra-“Progressive” Massachusetts, and I won’t lie, he fooled me. Turned out Brown was just as leftist as Mitt Romney, and as the saying goes, You Give the People the Choice Between a Real Democrat and a Fake Democrat they’ll pick the Real one Every Time.

You simply can’t buy elections in America. That might have been true in the past, but it isn’t today.

Also check out your favorite lefty today. They’re floundering looking for ANY anti-gun news, no matter how insignificant to talk about rather than point out that groups like MAIG, Joyce, and the Brady Campaign are powerless outside of places like New York, California, New Jersey, Illinois, and Massachusetts…and even there their grip is slipping.

Looking at the twitter feeds it looks like it was a late night for most of them, I wonder if they got into the Old Cough Medicine.

Thanks for all your hard work Freedom-Loving Coloradans, you not only have protected your rights, but you’ve cost the anti-rights forces MILLIONS in dollars and man-hours, and shown it was all for nothing. They’ll be thinking about that the next time they move on the other states.

“Junk Science”

Mrs. Weer’d sends me this double entendre!

Researchers at Emory University used an MRI to measure the gonads of 70 lucky biological fathers, age 21 to 43, in the Atlanta area. (Yes, they got paid for this.)

The scientists also studied each dad’s brain pattern as he viewed photos of his child, a stranger’s child or an adult stranger.

They were looking for activity in a part of the brain believed to be “involved in the motivation to approach and nurture offspring,” said Emory anthropologist James Rilling, one of the study authors.

Meanwhile, the men’s partners answered questions about how involved they were in taking care of their infant children. Do they take them to doctor visits or put them to bed?

The researchers then crunched — sorry, bad choice of verbs — the data.

“Fathers’ testicular volume and testosterone levels were inversely related to parental investment,” the study says, “and testes volume was inversely correlated with nurturing-related brain activity when viewing pictures of their own child.”

When I learned of this study, I immediately feared what could happen if it gets taken out of context.

Dystopian future headline: “Deadbeat Dads Blame it on Large Family Jewels!”

Junk science involving junk. Small sample size (heh, another one for ya!), coupled with arbitrary qualitative measurements linked to quantitative measurements. I’m just not buying it at all.

I wonder who wrote the grant, and approved it for this crap!

To All In Colorado

There’s a Man who would like to make your state into New York.

Don’t let that happen!

This is really a national story, and national issue, but only a hand full of Coloradans will be able to decide. (Well any any Illegal Voters Bloomberg and the DNC can plant)

Best wishes to all of you, and to the Republic.

“Gun Death” Grave Bodily Harm

In China

A six-year-old boy in China had his eyes gouged out, blinding him for life, reports said Tuesday, in a gruesome attack that may have been carried out by a ruthless organ trafficker.

Family members found the boy covered in blood some three to four hours after he went missing while playing outside, according to a television report posted online.

The child’s eyes were found nearby but the corneas were missing, reports said, implying that an organ trafficker was behind the harrowing attack.

Heartwarming! Good thing guns in China are banned, otherwise somebody may have protected the boy. Better yet, even with no guns around, organ traffickers might THINK “Hey, is the price of these eyes worth getting my ass shot for?”

Gun control, its “Progressive”!

Probably my favorite RHCP song, but I always felt it would sound better with a female vocalist.

Fake Problem Supported With Fake Data

So Joan is going on a screed again about carry permit holders.

Starting September 1st, Texas permit holders need many fewer hours of actual hands-on training with an actual gun to get an actual permit to carry an actual loaded gun in public places….Listen up everybody. If this change brings in more business while sending novices out on our streets with loaded guns, it is, as I have said before, a cynical move to make us less safe, not more safe. We can’t afford to have novices floundering in public with a loaded gun….So that’s it in a nutshell. This is not about public safety at all. This is about the corporate gun lobby’s promoting business and the purchase of more guns. This is about people not being able to stay awake for a 10 hour class. This is about protecting yourself from the government. This is about what some people claim is an unrestricted right to do whatever they please with their guns. This is about making sure the “good guys” get their guns and permits. What nearby states have looser requirements for getting a permit to carry, by the way, just out of curiosity? Arizona requires no training. Oklahoma allows Open Carry but this article talks about New Mexico and Nevada requiring no permits to carry. And so this is really about “dumbing down” towards the least restrictive laws to carry guns instead of thinking about public safety. It’s got to be more convenient not to sit through training or even get any training at all. And the number of gun deaths in these neighboring states? Texas=11/100,000. Arizona= 18/100,000. New Mexico= 16.6/100,000. Oklahoma=13.1/100,000. Nevada= 17.3/100,000. Louisiana=19.5/100,000. And then how about, say, California where laws are much more strict? Gun deaths=9.8/100,000. So far, Texas has fewer gun deaths than most other nearby states. So it makes perfect sense to emulate those states, right? And if this law passed in Texas, you can bet that the corporate gun lobby will be bringing it to a state near you.

So there’s her problem. More states are relaxing or outright dropping their carry permit laws, and her response is “Gun Death”.

Let’s double-check that with the bullshit detector. Oh when we step away from the arbitrary “Gun Death” rate and just go by people killed by any means illegally suddenly the numbers go all over the place.

Further look at that bottom, we have Hawaii, but then just above New Hampshire and Vermont. Further Her beloved California is LESS safe than Texas…which is the opposite she claims.

Really we can play all sorts of number games here. Just look at no-permit needed Wyoming and Alaska and where they fall compared to various anti-gun capital ships.

Still this is why they cling to “Gun Death” and why I spend so much time taking it away from them.
