Sci Show on Gun Control

I was just pointed to a Sci-Show I missed when I was out of town last year:

First up I’ll note that Hank’s drank the “Climate Change” Kool-Aid (or whatever name the Cult is calling it now), so he’s shown to be swayed by junk science outside of his comfort zone.

That being said he leads with the studies on the AWB and Concealed carry that show inconclusive results.

If you’re an Authoritarian, “Inconclusive” means the government should keep that power.

If You’re a “Progressive” then an “Inconclusive” law is progress and should be embraced!

If you’re a Conservative then an “Inconclusive” law was a mistake and should be repealed

If you’re a libertarian then even CONCLUSIVE laws with a low impact on society should be repealed!

I think Hank leans towards the top two, while I lean well towards the bottom. Honestly we’re talking opinion on all of those. I don’t agree with him, but at this juncture I’m man enough to admit we can BOTH be wrong.

Then he gets roped hard. He essentially cites the Branas study, and a Joyce extension of Kellerman, both we recently discussed here. These studies were intentionally misleading by conflating lawful gun owners with criminals in illegal possession of guns engaging in criminal acts.

I certainly suspect that Hank leans to the authoritarian and “progressive”, but overall I think he was simply mislead by the creative writings by the cult of anti-rights.

“Gun Death” Train Suicide Attempt

“Progressives” love trains as much as they love citing “Gun Death”. The two of them combine to their ignorance of this event:

The driver of the train that derailed in northern Spain killing 78 people said in the aftermath of the accident that he “wanted to die”, it has been reported.

78 people died, and the suicidal driver lived. 78 people!!! Even in the Norway Mass Shooting killed 77 (with only 67 of those being “Gun Death”), and the biggest Mass shooting in the US was Virginia Tech killing 32. This was not a terror attack or other acts of war, and it was instigated by a lone individual, yet they only care about those dead from guns!

Their silence shows the temperature of their blood.

Ice Cold!

Great video on the history of the Laboratory Rat.

I used to work heavily with Wistar rats. They’re pretty awesome animals.

Better Late Than Never

When writing last night’s post I forgot I had saved these screen captures. I was going to post them when the George Zimmerman verdict was released. Better late than never:

Joke

Zimmerman Defense

I think Jason missed his calling as a race horse handicapper!

Yep, anti-gun activists. Against the man who had to defend his life to keep his brains inside his head. For an “Innocent Teen” on drugs beating a stranger’s head into the pavement!

Gotta rub their noses in it!

This Latest “Mass Shooting”

So the antis are all prattling about a shooting in Georgia. I was amazed I hadn’t heard about it.

The suspect in a Georgia elementary school shooting who fired six rounds in a front office before surrendering to police had nearly 500 rounds of ammunition with him, authorities said Wednesday….On Wednesday, DeKalb County lead investigator Ray Davis and police chief Cedric Alexander outlined what could have been a massacre for the school, but ended with nobody hurt. The suspect surrendered peacefully to police after exchanging gunfire with them.

Oh, that’s why, because Guns save lives and this guy couldn’t even kill HIMSELF. But OMG he had almost 500 rounds in Magazines! Which is probably why he ended it so fast. 500 rounds of 7.62×39 in steel AK Mags is a heavy ruck!

Also the fallacy of the “Gun Free Zone” is further expanded here:

despite the school security system that requires visitors to be buzzed in. He may have followed behind someone who was authorized to be in the building, but never got past the front office.

Yep a man holding a RIFLE walked right through the magical “high tech” security system into the unguarded underbelly which is the storage location for our children.

Oh and Did I mention this event ended without loss of life because POLICE arrived in time to SHOOT at him.

So take-aways are A) Yet another event at a “Gun Free Zone”
B) Blood dancers want blood so bad they pretend its places where it isn’t
C) Guns save lives.

Oh and I dove into my email thinking this story was there and found this one from Les:

Savannah State University officials say a public safety officer’s gun accidentally discharged on the campus, sending a bullet crashing through two windows before it came to a stop in a classroom wall.

University spokeswoman Loretta Heyward tells The Savannah Morning News (http://bit.ly/16M8WOY) that the officer’s weapon misfired during either a training exercise or a demonstration Wednesday morning. There was a class in session in the room where the bullet came to rest, but no one was hurt.

Oddly there are a LOT more CCW holders than cops, yet you here more of the cops doing this. “Highly trained”.

Moms Demand a Lower Bar

Remember this?

Elliot Fineman “Organized” a boycott of Starbucks, demanding Starbucks embraces an anti-gun policy. Notice in the interview Elliot makes claims that the anti-rights cult is so big that they will do severe damage to both the Starbucks corporation, and their shareholders. What was most amusing about it was how desperate and ineffective it was. It wasn’t legislation, and it wasn’t legal policy. So if Starbucks posted “No Guns” signs it A) Would only effect people carrying guns actually IN Starbucks stores, and B) Would only LEGALLY effect people in states where binding signage was law.

Then they “Implemented” the “Boycott”….well Miguel has the laughable results.

So a national boycott that would have had little impact on lawful gun owners failed miserably. Next course of action? DO IT AGAIN!!! But don’t make it so HARD!

Moms Against Starbucks

So a national boycott that allegedly was indefinite until their demands were met did nothing, but hey just ONE SATURDAY, That’ll work!

They keep claiming they have a “Majority” and such actions will somehow be noticed. Yet National Legislation has been bust, and even their rallies are tiny:

Sad Rally MN 8-13

They’ll just keep lowering the bar until they can claim victory!!

“Gun Death” Bike

And not Motor Bike, but Bicycle!

A bicyclist has pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter after running down a 71-year-old pedestrian in a San Francisco crosswalk, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Ran down an elderly man in a crosswalk, and was going fast enough to kill him. There is some severe negligence right there.

Under the unusual plea deal last week, Chris Bucchere, 37, would not serve any jail time and instead be sentenced to three years of probation and sentenced to 1,000 hours of community service in the death of Sutchi Hui of San Bruno on March 29, 2012, San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon said.

Gascon believes it could be the first vehicular manslaughter conviction in the nation involving a bicyclist. He plans to provide more details during a news conference later in the day.

Now this is very similar to the whole “Gun Death” metric, because this isn’t a motorbike or a car doing the killing, but a bicycle, we’re NOT sending this shit to jail? Care to explain that to me?

I guess only motorbike deaths count, just like only “Gun Death” Counts

Massachusetts “Justice”

This story is a “Gun Death?” tale, but I think the nature of the ineptness of the Massachusetts “Justice” System trumps all. Remember this is a state where I can only buy certain approved pistols, cannot buy a semi-auto rifle with a folding stock or a threaded barrel if it has a removable magazine, cannot buy or own magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, and need an expensive permit to simply BUY or OWN ammo, let alone a working gun.

Meet Jared Remy

As with most men who allegedly commit domestic homicide, Jared Remy—son of broadcaster and former Boston Red Sox player Jerry Remy, and himself a Red Sox security guard until he was fired for steroid use in 2008—gave everyone lots of warning. When he was arrested Thursday night on charges of stabbing his girlfriend, Jennifer Martel, to death in front of their 4-year-old daughter and neighbors, it was only one day after he had been brought in front of Waltham District Court in Massachusetts on charges of slamming Martel’s face into a mirror—and was then released. Despite 14 previous arrests, including domestic violence against two other women, Remy was allowed to walk free without bail—just a paper-thin order to not abuse Martel. The next night he, in the words of Martel’s mother, “went back and finished the job.”

This all happened despite the option, recently highlighted in a New Yorker piece, that exists in Massachusetts to hold high-risk offenders in jail for a period of time, after a “dangerousness hearing,” to prevent them from doing things like murdering their victims.

So we have a violent, drug-abusing repeat offender with a protection order against him….and he is simply allowed to walk free without so much as posting bail so he can murder the victim of his latest domestic violence charge.

Hey, but at least he used a knife, right? Those Massachusetts gun laws are keeping us SO safe!

The Joyce Foundation says: “Massachusetts, You’re More Likely To Live Here! Most Effective Gun Laws in the Country, Lowest Gun Fatality Rate.”….rings rather hollow as innocent people bleed out from stab wounds from KNOWN violent offenders.

We don’t need gun control, we need CRIMINAL Control!

The Antis And Justifiable Homicide

This little quote has been making the rounds. Others’ comments can be found here, here, here, and here. and the quote:

CSGV Self Defense

The others all have great points. The one I want to expand on is how RADICAL CSGV and their compatriots are. First up you’ll note this is NOT a gun statement. They make no reference the TOOL used to defend innocent life. Sure one can use a gun, as its a VERY good tool when it comes to enacting deadly force. That’s why cops carry guns even tho they have all sorts of other cool tools hanging off their belt.

Still the tool could be a knife, a club, a rock, a stick, or hands and feet. Think about that in the context of this statement.

CSGV is AGAINST JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE! Can you think of ANY nation, high income, low income, first world, third world, or any hemisphere that doesn’t have SOME SORT of law on their books that protects a killer who killed to protect their life, or the life of another innocent person? I sure can’t. I know that in the UK justifiable self defense is VERY difficult to defend, and anything but improvised weapons are deemed by the courts as some form of premeditation. Also they believe in matching the force of your attacker. But you can beat a mugger or a rapist to death with your fists, your feet, or a rock or stick if you’re so lucky and be deemed as justified in your actions by a court of law.

Essentially what I’m saying is that the idea of righteous violence, even deadly violence is an innately HUMAN trait.

This is my point, CSGV and the other anti-rights, anti-freedom cultists aren’t just against the rights of Americans, or Gun Owners, but the rights and nature of HUMANITY.

While the anti-social actions they take aren’t as severe as those who rape, or murder without remorse, their sentiment should be seen as just as alien to any healthy human no matter who you are, or what culture you call your own.

This is how radical they are, and how monstrous they are. Many have pointed out their designs might simply be from selfish self-preservation. Given the threats CSGV has leveled against innocent civilians, I can understand that sentiment. Be it calling for the murder of an innocent man or their thinly veiled threats against bloggers on twitter or even the floor of the US Senate, their actions can be extrapolated to a point where one might be justified in shooting these fanatics to defend innocent lives, and of course that would not be optimal for them.

Still I suspect they are indeed THAT mentally damaged that they can’t even relate to something that is a core pillar of humanity itself.
