“Gun Death” Airport

Airports, you know the ones with security so tight it violates the 4th Amendment!

A coroner says one of four children injured when a sign fell at an Alabama airport has died.

The sign fell in the newly renovated Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport terminal Friday afternoon. Officials say four children and their mother were injured.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Derrick Perryman says a 10-year-old boy later died.

Thank goodness the TSA was there!

“Gun Death” Peter Principal

This is an interesting story, and while not exactly the “Peter Principal”, as its quite a bit worse:

The building collapsed in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake, with only the north shear wall that included the lift shaft left still standing. One survivor was quoted as running out of the ground floor during the shaking. When she had reached the other side of the 14 meter wide road, she looked back and “the building was down.” Within minutes, a fire broke out. Most of the deaths were caused by the collapse, but it is assumed that some of the victims burned to death, and some may have even drowned during the efforts of putting the fire out….The people killed (115) comprised 16 Canterbury Television employees on Levels 1 & 2; 79 King’s Education staff (4), teachers (5) and foreign students (70) on Level 4; 19 medical centre staff (13), patients (5) and one patient’s friend on Level 5; and an Administrator for Relationship Services on Level 6. The bodies of four victims in the CTV building could not be identified because the high temperature of the building fire had destroyed any traces of DNA. The inquest into the CTV building deaths which was adjourned in September 2011 is to resume in October 2012, with the object of having a final session in December. It is to pay particular attention to six CTV building victims, who were alive for some time but could not be rescued….The commission’s findings were released on 10 December 2012. The report found the building’s design was deficient and should not have been approved. The building’s engineer, David Harding, of Alan Reay Consultants Ltd, was found to have no experience in designing multi-story buildings and was “working beyond his competence.” His supervisor, Alan Reay, left Harding unsupervised then pressured city officials to approve the building design even though several members had reservations about the design.

Essentially a major business and residential building was constructed on an island nation with frequent earthquakes that didn’t meet earthquake safety standards. because of this 115 people were killed, and while technically the Earthquake killed them, they likely would have survived if the building hadn’t collapsed.

Crazy story, but not a “Gun Death” story!

Sorry For the Light Posting

Been a crazy few days. Lots of stuff going on, including pregnant wife, lots of things going on at work, and me not getting even remotely enough sleep.

Also I’ll be out of town this weekend, so blogging has been light and will continue to be light.

Thanks for your patience.

Oh and let’s watch a Harlem shake video with dancing Pinnipeds!

I think the animals are just as amused as the people are!

“Gun Death” Giant Lizard

Now the question is, what is more important, human life, or the life of a protected species?

A park official says two people have been hospitalized after being attacked by a giant komodo dragon that wandered into the office of a wildlife park in eastern Indonesia…. Both were badly bitten and were evacuated to a hospital on Bali Island.

Endangered Komodo dragons can grow longer than 3 meters (10 feet). Fewer than 4,000 are believed to be alive. They are found in the wild primarily on the eastern Indonesian islands of Komodo, Padar and Rinca.

Hey, but getting killed by a giant lizard isn’t being shot, right?

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

Really????

The city has agreed to give $40,000 to two women whose pickup was shot up by a Police Department protection detail that mistook their newspaper delivery vehicle for the truck driven by rogue ex-cop Christopher Dorner during his rampage, officials announced Thursday.

The tax-free settlement covering the pickup and other property came quickly after the women’s attorney, Glen Jonas, rejected Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck’s offer of a replacement truck because the women would have had to pay taxes. The deal specified no admission of liability.

Let’s hope that’s JUST for the damaged truck:

Jonas, who noted he has waived all his fees, said he hoped that all other issues including personal injury can be resolved without the need to file a lawsuit or have a trial.

I’m not a lawyer, does this statement mean that this was JUST for the loss of a pickup truck? Does this mean damages from injury and nearly being murdered by a police death squad are still in the works?

I’m still upset that no criminal charges have been leveled, both because these actions WERE criminal, and the fact that the officers haven’t been charged shows the cooperation of the LAPD and city and state government.

Victim’s Reaction to Blood Dancing

The anti-rights blood dancers seem to claim they’re on the side of the victims, and that the victims are with them.

Not-so-much:

Filmmaker Michael Moore’s suggestion that showing crime scene photos of the children slain at Sandy Hook will hasten the demise of the National Rifle Association is not getting rave reviews in the shattered Connecticut community…..Jeremy Richman, whose 6-year-old daughter Avielle was killed in the attack by gunman Adam Lanza — a 20-year-old, mentally-troubled local man who later killed himself as police responded — said Moore’s idea is off-base.

“I would be very strongly against that,” an incredulous Richman said when being informed of Moore’s idea.

Another parent of a 6-year-old boy killed in the attack, in Newtown, Conn., was upset that such an idea would be proposed.

“You can imagine what my reaction to that is,” the outraged mom said, declining any further comment….Moore’s proposal would be a “horrendous offense” to relatives of the Sandy Hook tragedy, Dorrie Carolan, co-president of the Newtown Parent Connection, told FoxNews.com.

“For the families and the community, we just want to get back to a normal life and that would be a horrendous offense to the families,” Carolan said. “There’s no need for any of that.”

Now since I’m not a malignant narcissist I’m not going to claim that because these poor parents spoke out against Moore that they’re suddenly on MY side of the issue, or that they aren’t convinced that somehow by removing my rights it will protect other children.

Still I thought I’d show what pain the blood dancers cause to those who they claim to be supporting. You’ll note that Moore has NOT apologized for his remarks. Because to him banning guns is the real goal, and compassion never entered into the equation.

“Gun Death” Family Mass Murder

No laws would have stopped this:

Police in metro Atlanta say a 52-year-old man killed his two sons and wife and hanged himself in their apartment….Johns Creek Police Chief Ed Densmore Tuesday said the boys died from wounds to their necks and their mother died from blows to her head. Police and the medical examiner’s office would not disclose any additional details, and the motive behind the murder-suicide is unclear.

Police say the slayings were the first homicides recorded in Johns Creek since the city about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta incorporated in 2006.

The Killer was a Sikh, so possession of blades is protected under the 1st Amendment for religious reasons (not that those who use “Gun Death” give a shit about the 1st Amendment), the beatings were likely done with a more mundane weapon or simply fists, and then a hanging.

Still only “Gun Death” is relevant!

Gun dealer is right too.

Private seller? No ID? Sorry, but if you sell a gun to a non-resident of your state you get to go to federal prison. Sorry EVERYBODY checks ID, because Jail sucks. LIE!
