On Those Reagan Posters

Ronald Reagan was shitty on guns. Its a fact. He passed some gun bans in California, and had some restrictions passed while he was President.

The antis are going full-force quoting Reagan, and his gun-grabber quotes.

I see this as the same way the antis who are openly hostile to Christians are quoting the bible as a trope for gun control.

Look guys, if you hate Christians and think they’re “backwards”, don’t quote their book to support your argument, because you’re saying your beliefs are backwards.

Same goes for if you have NOTHING good to say about the late President Reagan, if he was some sort of Fascist Monster in your book, then your little pet of gun control is also a Fascist Monster (on that we can agree).

Gandhi had a bunch of pro-gun quotes too. You won’t see them here, because while I respect his work against the British Occupation of India, and think he was indeed a great man, the ONLY reason why Gandhi is known to any of us, vs. say the Freedom Fighters in Burma, or Cambodia, or Iran, is because the Brits really didn’t have the stomach for wiping out the Peasants like most of the totalitarian occupational forces.

Case in Point:
Tank Man

We all know this image, what we don’t know is this guy’s name, or his fate. (But we’re pretty sure he was murdered by the state after this photo)

On a similar note, Reagan was against “Assault Weapons” and the carrying of guns in public…and he was nearly murdered by a guy illegally carrying a .22 Revolver.

He wasn’t a God, he made some dumb mistakes!

If They’re Too Dangerous to Have, Stop Using Them!

A Great Story!

The battle over the right to bear arms is flaring in Vermont, where a local gun range has moved to prohibit the Burlington Police Department from training at its facilities after the City Council voted to advance a measure banning semi-automatic rifles and large-capacity magazines.

The leadership of the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club explained that it’s “difficult” for the club to support the city — even its officers — given the actions of the council.

Yep, the .gov wants to ban the citizens from having “Dangerous” Rifles and pistols, then why do they keep handing out EXACTLY that to our police force? Sorry officer, if you or your superiors are going to be against us, you don’t get to use our range, build your own!

I still think a great test for what is legal and illegal, is what Police are allowed to carry. Things like Tasers, handcuffs, squad cars, and batons, are specialty items, as people have the right to just walk away from a crime being committed, but police are there to enforce the law. I get that. But the guns, and the bullet proof vests, and ammo, are all for the EXACT same reason as why I have them.

Also don’t get me wrong, if my FAL is protected under the 2nd Amendment, there’s no reason why we need to be concerned about deer rifles, or skeet guns. Same goes for Batons and Tasers, and pepper spray…or handcuffs. We just don’t get to use them in the same way…especially the handcuffs! 😉

“Gun Free Zones Kill”

We need to end this nonsense!

Police found a doctor dead from multiple gunshot wounds Monday in an examination room of a Southern California medical office, and took a suspect into custody in the same room, authorities said.

California has some of the worst gun control laws in the nation. Still Orange County is one of those places were a law abiding doctor COULD get a carry permit. Of course offices like that would likely fire him for USING said permit, and unless he has the capital for opening his own practice, such a termination would essentially end his career as a doctor.

Doesn’t stop the bad guys tho, does it? THIS NEEDS TO END!

More Turning of Terms

Yep if you’re using your rifle for self defense its a “Self-Defense Rifle”. If you use your Muzzle-Loading rifle to assault somebody, its an “Assault Rifle”, and if you hit your girlfriend in the head with a hammer, that’s an “Assault Weapon”.

Words have meaning, and “Progressives” HATE dictionaries!

“Gun Death” Beaten Into a Coma

Attorney beaten into a coma!

Dallas police are asking for the public’s help in finding whoever beat a corporate attorney so badly that he is now in a medically induced coma….According to online updates posted by his sister, Falgoust is in a medically induced coma with multiple skull fractures and severe bleeding on his brain.

Dallas police said they don’t believe robbery was a motive for the attack because Falgoust still had his cellphone and wallet on him at the hospital.

No word on if this beating was with a weapon, or with bare hands and feet. My Father-in-Law was a criminal attorney for the first part of his life. Part of the job was putting bad people in prison for horrible crimes. What came with this was death threats on him and his family. Since he practiced in Vermont it simply meant he could drop his .357 into his pocket without need to demand permission from his government. He never needed to pull the gun.

I wish this guy had had a gun, as nobody deserves this. Hey, but we need to ban guns, right?

Yep

Sexism meets ignorance, meets no respect for human life!

I remember once talking with an Anti about the wrongness of calling an AR-15 an “Assault Rifle” and the stupidity of calling it an “Assault Weapon”. In exasperation they asked me what I would call an AR-15.

I responded: “A Rifle”.

The conversation ended there.

Public Funds

Now this is an interesting story:

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected a Buffalo Grove atheist’s final appeal in his lawsuit challenging the use of state funds to renovate an 11-story cross atop southern Illinois’ tallest peak, ending the legal dispute spanning more than two years.

The nation’s high court on Tuesday declined without comment to review Robert Sherman’s request to hear his case involving the $20,000 grant given in 2008 to the 111-foot-high Bald Knob Cross of Peace near Alto Pass. Lower courts already had ruled that Sherman lacked standing to sue over the grant.

I was asked the other day by a Co-Worker about the CDC’s restriction on public funds for gun research. I noted that the NRA’s position is that the funded research has always been for restricting guns from private hands. Given that it is a Constitutionally protected right, then public funds for restricting rights should be barred.

Still my PERSONAL feelings is that public funds should be used for building schools, and paving roads, and keeping a modest military equipped and paid. There is so much crap that we dump public funds into.

Personally as a non-Christian I find it hard to get bothered by public displays of faith. You see crosses and faith-based billboards all over the South, and I could care less. Still I’d personally rather not pay for any of it, and I don’t see why these good people need my help to erect a monument.

“Gun Death” Caseworker Stabbed

Have a look at this story:

An inexperienced health care caseworker who visited a client at his home knew there was something that made her “very uncomfortable” about the 53-year-old man, even writing in his file that two people should visit him in the future.

Yet 25-year-old Stephanie Ross went alone to Lucious Smith’s apartment Monday morning, and police said the ex-con with a history of violence inexplicably chased her down the street, stabbing her to death with a butcher knife.

So many layers of wrong here. First we have a violent Ex-Con in a home with sharp objects. We have a case worker who likely would be fired for carrying a gun on the job (and in the field where such a termination would prevent them from further work in the field), and we have an implement that I would say ALL of us have, and somehow manage not to commit violent murders.

These home visits make the caseworker’s job terribly dangerous, as the clients are likely of a higher risk group, the clients control the environment of the visit, and likely the visit comes with a certain level of animosity.

Hey, but like so-called “Assault Weapons”, most people own kitchen knives without causing horrible crimes, and we all have good use for them. And we have violent criminals out and about without supervision.

What can you expect?

Another Allegory for Gun Control

Remember if you ban guns you’ll stop crimes committed with those guns!

Federal agents have arrested a suburban Denver man accused of trying to trade explosive devices for cocaine or cash.

Federal prosecutors said U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents removed multiple explosive devices from the Morrison man’s home Thursday and rendered them safe….According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Sandberg told an undercover officer he is a former U.S. Marine. The affidavit says Sandberg and the officer discussed trading explosive devices for drugs or money and that the officer left Sandberg’s home after a visit this week with three devices.

Cocaine: illegal. Still why would cash be a decent substitute for an illegal drug? Easy you can simply BUY Cocaine, legal or not. Explosives: Illegal, but boy he sure built some. There are whole pages of high school and college text books on how explosives work, and how to make them. We give these out to our kids, and keep them in our public library. There are also more crude formulations for explosives to be found online, and in pamphlets.

Odd, the law doesn’t seem to stop this guy at all. Now it DOES allow us to arrest him. But so does using a firearm improperly. We already have laws and steep penalties for that, but these NEW laws are claiming to STOP said crimes BEFORE they happen.

Sorry, but there’s reality in the way.

Shooting in Cold Weather

I haven’t been shooting recently, mostly because ammo supplies are so short and expensive right now, I’d rather horde.

Also the range is friggin cold, so I might as well stay home and warm. I’m sure my shooting will suffer a bit, but that’ll all come back once things settle down.

Still these are some good tips for cold weather shooting!
