“Gun Death” Abusive Dad

But gun owners are the dangerous ones

Shafer watched as her nephew, Eric P. Boone, gave the 21-month-old girl CPR. Then firefighters arrived and resuscitated the child, but noticed suspicious marks on her throat and face.

Specialists at Children’s Hospital say the girl, who was injured in October, may now be “a quadriplegic and/or require a permanent tracheotomy to breathe.”…Shafer said Boone could be a “good dad” and patient, but there were times when the couple was in the basement and she would hear the little girl being slapped. She did not know which parent did it, but said Pruitt left the discipline to Boone. “They both yelled at her,” Shafer said.

Another Gun Control Sucess Story

Man shot in New York City

A man was shot and killed Monday afternoon while walking in New York City’s Midtown area, a popular tourist hotspot during the busy holiday season, according to police.

Brandon Lincoln Woodward, 31, of Los Angeles, was shot once in the back of the head at close range, according to Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne….”The shooter didn’t take anything from him,” Browne said, and there is “no indication of what the shooting was over.”

Police are still seeking the gunman.

He was shot just to be shot, it appears, or maybe for some other motive, unknown. Either way this is one of those beasts that walks among us. New York’s gun laws means that the good people walking the streets are unarmed…but the monster had a gun.

This is the Utopia the Anti-Rights fans dream for us. Not on my watch!

**UPDATE** More on the victim here, he was a law student, but he had pending charges for robbery, violence, and drug possession, and was known to hang with “shady characters”. He lived in LA, but had flown to NYC just for a day to “Visit a Friend”. Maybe I’m reading between the lines, but this sounds like a hit.

You Be the Judge

Football Players Turn in their Guns:

At least seven NFL players have turned their guns into their respective team’s security following the murder-suicide involving Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher earlier this month, Sports Illustrated’s Peter King reported on NBC’s “Football Night in America” on Sunday.

According to the report, at least one player handed over multiple firearms, telling his team’s personnel that he didn’t trust himself with the guns.

So what do we have here? Dumb sheep, or macho brutes who know themselves well enough to know they have zero self-control, even when it comes to murder?

I won’t lie, before I owned guns I didn’t know how I’d handle them. I never asked for a BB gun as a kid because I was concerned I’d end up killing something that didn’t need killing. (I blame bullshit 80s TV where if a BB gun was presented in the opening, a cute animal would be dead, and the protagonists would learn a sad lesson by the closing credits)

The same mentality came with guns. Only now years later I’ve never done anything I regret when it comes to firearms. Maybe I’m just better than the players in the NFL…that’s damning with faint praise….

Also I found this via Joan Peterson, who’s against private transfer of firearms. According to her, turning guns over to private security like this should be a crime, right?

What do you think?

“Progressive Sanity”

RFK Jr. Media is controlled by the right wing:

Spoken on the Huffington Post. Yep, Fox News is mostly right-of-center…tho your definitions of that may vary as they have “Right Wing” juggernauts Bill O’Reilly, and Sean Hannity. They also have Alan Colmes and Juan Williams on their roster. And yep, talk radio is almost all right wing. Air America foundered, and NPR only survives because of government handouts. Also try listening to NPR while driving and NOT nodding off and hitting a telephone pole.

Meanwhile how do stations like NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBS, and CNN lean? How about Hollywood? Hmmm?

Maybe its the drugs talking?

Unions Putting Their Best Face Forward

Wow! Don’t you feel bad that these goons lost?

Also good work on behalf of Mr. Crowder for controlling his monster. He could have returned a few of those punches with interest, but he chose not too.

Joan Peterson Links the Ugly Truth

Just found this article in Joan’s Twitter feed:

Smith told police that he shot the teenagers, who were cousins, multiple times after they broke into his house and walked down the stairs to his basement. He described “a good clean finishing shot” at Kifer, after she had been shot several times in the chest and dragged into an office workshop. He left the bodies there for a full day before deputies arrived….”The first shot was completely authorized by Minnesota law,” Olson said. But if they have “given up the fight and are no longer a threat, you can’t shoot them again.”

Compare this with Joan’s own propaganda on the event:

Luckily for the families of the victims, the Shoot First law did not pass in Minnesota or the man could have tried using it to keep himself from being charged for murder.

You’ll notice I’m not holding my breath waiting for Joan’s retraction of her erroneous statements. Stand Your Ground, and Castle Doctrine laws make perfect sense to EVERYBODY. PERIOD. They make so much sense that Joan NEEDS to categorize such laws as a repeal of murder laws to even HOPE to get some support.

Sorry, Joan, you’re a liar and a Charlatan!

Deep One

Cool Lobster found in Wells Maine.

You see the mutation where extra digits appear on one of the claws fairly commonly, most of them don’t slow the lobster down much, so they pass that right on. This one created both a deformed claw and a completely separate claw, giving this bug 3.

I’m sure there are more than a few aquariums that would love to take care of this guy…hopefully he finds one.

Just What I Need

While I’m waiting for my permit renewal I’m reading about all the places that are messing up the Renewal process.

Gun ownership advocates are pushing for a return to lifetime firearm licenses, saying the state’s 1998 get-tough gun control laws have created a bureaucratic nightmare that turns them into lawbreakers, while cash-strapped police departments say they are swamped.

“It’s a license that’s mandated by a state that cannot supply it,” said James Wallace, president of the Gun Owners’ Action League of Massachusetts, which is pushing a bill to speed up the process by eliminating renewals — and instead just yanking licenses from people when they violate the terms. “It’s taking so long that people are technically illegal, and they’re scared to complain, because they’re illegal.”

Gun culture 2.0 is in full swing, and people are buying guns like crazy, and no-longer are gunnies contained to the hinterlands where the deer and the antelope play, but in the urban areas, and these people are getting their carry permits.

This means more demand on the system designed to turn around each application in a short time. Now with volume up….they make you wait, and in the case of Massachusetts where its an OWNERSHIP permit, potentially break the law.

Permits are nonsense. Let people exercise their 2nd Amendment rights like any other…if they abuse them THEN punish them, not before.

“Gun Death” Permits

Permits are awesome!

A 32-year-old woman died and 19 others were injured when a scaffolding tower collapsed at a Linkin Park concert in South Africa, officials confirmed today.

How did this happen?

Cape Town officials said the advertising rig had been given a full safety certificate before the concert.

Ms Hatton confirmed the structure was made safe in the aftermath of the incident and that the gig went ahead as planned.

Oh it was inspected and deemed “Safe” before it killed one person and injured 19 others. Not from anything crazy either, just wind!

Obviously we need to ban shitty music!
