“Gun Death” More Knives

Knives can kill…but only guns count!

A stabbing at Cowboy Jack’s in Bloomington sent one man to the hospital in serious condition.

Police said a fight broke out around midnight at the bar off Interstate 494 and Xerxes Ave.

Another Oddball Gun

I love the strange ones…the gun is neat too! 😛

Very neat with that “Fast Action” trigger.

Basics for an Odd Ball

I really like this video because it shows not only how to manipulate the Luger, but he gives some tips on how to clear an odd gun. This skill set might be more useful than you think. How many people have had to clear out the gun safe of somebody who has passed away? Lots of guns, some could be old, and you don’t know the condition of ANY of them.

-Remember the 4 rules

-Search for the magazine release if its a semi-auto pistol. Generally its a button or a tab at the base of the mag well, but you never know.

-Look for Knurling! This is an important one, as a general rule guns are made smooth where you don’t need to touch them to make them easier to clean, and less likely to snag, but where you DO need to touch them there is often knurling. The grip panels, the front and backstrap, the magazine release, any safety controls, any takedown leavers or notches, and how you manipulate the action.

Look for the knurling and see what its attached to and how it might work. Of course ALWAYS follow the safety rules with an unknown gun, odd things can happen, like actuating the safety on an old P38 Walther, or flicking the decocking leaver on an old CZ-52 could result in an honest-to-goodness ACCIDENTAL discharge if the firing pin block is broken. I remember the first time I picked up a Ruger 22 pistol. It doesn’t have a slide, so how do I open the action? Easy look at those two knurled tabs at the back of the bolt!

Good stuff, and actually not as basic when you look at it that way!

Space Yo-Yo

I’m pretty slick with a Yo-Yo, but so much of it relies on gravity, and this guy does without on the ISS!

Pretty cool that he learned how to make it work in space!

Interesting Theater Carry Story

This is an interesting story:

A prominent New Haven attorney arrested for bringing a loaded gun to a late showing of the “Dark Knight” Tuesday turned the incident into a referendum on the city’s police department…. In a statement emailed to the Daily News, Hwang said he has a permit to carry a weapon and felt he needed a gun for security while walking home alone at 1 a.m.

Hwang added that “no posting at Criterion states that weapons are not permitted. As far as the law is concerned, I have a right to carry there.”…. But Hwang defended his actions declaring New Haven ‘the murder capital of Connecticut,’ which prompted him to carry the weapon for his own safety. But he found few supporters at City Hall. “Just because its legal, doesn’t make it right,” New Haven Mayor John DeStefano said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon, adding that there should be a gun registry program for cities.

After receiving multiple complaints from patrons about a man openly carrying a handgun, theater staff called the police. Cops searched the theater asking moviegoers to exit with their hands in the air while being searched, according to the press release.

Interesting that the mayor is making right and wrong judgements…and meanwhile seems to be comfortable with gun registries. Now here’s where it gets interesting:

“Officers identified the suspect and with weapons drawn, ordered the suspect to put his hands up,” the press release said. “He remained in his seat while using his cell phone. He did not comply with the officers commands, and was taken into custody by force. Officers removed a loaded handgun from the small of his back.”

Hwang was then handcuffed and removed from the theater.

“Everyone in the theater responded to the requests of the police officers except for the individual involved, the police had to take action,” New Haven Police Chief Dean Esserman said in a Wednesday afternoon press conference.

Seriously dude? You’re going to play it tough when the cops are on you with guns drawn? You have a good case, it sounds like, why’d you have to taint it by being a jackass? You’re a LAWYER, you know better, if the cops wish to wrongfully arrest you, LET THEM, then SUE THEM!

“There still are behaviors permissible under the law,” said Mayor DeStefano, “we, as a community, need to discuss our priorities as a city.”

Hwang faces two charges stemming from the incident: interfering with police and breach of the peace.

Notice the lack of weapons charges. You just screwed the pooch, Councillor! What a shame. He’s right, New Haven is a damn dangerous city, I happened to sit down to a family dinner with a New Haven cop who worked for their gang division. New Haven is no Joke, and I wouldn’t want to be walking after dark without a gun.

But if the cops are arresting you, you really aren’t in a position to debate, comply and take action AFTER you’ve posted bail. He had a case for wrongful arrest if he let them book him for lawfully carrying a firearm, but resisting arrest and disturbing the peace are grounds to bring you in.

Zimmerman to get “Stand Your Ground” Hearing

Good News for Justice!

George Zimmerman, accused in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, could be cleared of a second-degree murder charge if a judge rules in his favor in a new “Stand Your Ground” hearing.

Zimmerman’s defense attorney Mark O’Mara announced on his website Thursday that there will be a “Stand Your Ground” hearing based on his client’s claim he shot the unarmed teen in self-defense. A finding in Zimmerman’s favor would end the criminal case against him, as well as immunizing him from civil action.

“Now that the State has released the majority of their discovery, the defense asserts that there is clear support for a strong claim of self-defense. Consistent with this claim of self-defense, there will be a ‘Stand Your Ground’ hearing,” said O’Mara in a statement.

The law allows people to use deadly force, rather than retreat, if they believe their lives are in danger.

O’Mara described the hearing as a “mini-trial,” with arguments, witnesses, experts and evidence that would be included in a criminal trial, but without a jury.

Good that’s kind of the whole point to the law, also why Zimmerman was free without charges for so long…and the only reason why he was charged was for political reasons. Hopefully this will result in a quick acquittal for at man who appears to have done nothing wrong.

Of course people are still playing the race card, so even if there is justice, their might be civil unrest. Be wary!

More CSGV Stupidity

Of course all the anti-rights groups are gun registration, not to prevent crime or improve public safety, as that’s been proven to be false…but for confiscation. Still they can’t admit their true intentions, because people might notice that they’re evil.

Now let’s look at reality. First he’s saying “Perps”, meaning Suspects of crimes. There needs to be some suspicion as running the serial number on a gun needs to have probable cause or a warrant to protect the 4th Amendment rights of the owners (not that Anti-Freedom people much care for the 4th Amendment….the 4th only applies to people THEY like), so we’re talking about an armed suspect of a crime. Well if the police ARREST the person, well the gun gets confiscated. Now if the person is charged with a serious crime, they become a prohibited person for the duration of their court trial. (see GCA ’68) Again the gun is confiscated, and can only be returned if the person is not convicted. Now let’s take the most common “Armed Perp” situation. Gang members and drug dealers. These people generally have prior convictions, again doesn’t matter who owns the gun, prohibited people can’t be going about armed.

This is yet another great example of anti-rights people calling for more restrictions to fix a problem we really don’t have. Same can be said about banning private sale. They want to stop criminals from getting guns…but even in places where private sales are illegal criminals get guns, and knowingly selling a gun to a criminal is a crime.

We don’t call them “Anti-Freedom” for nothing!

Springfield’s Jonny Come Lately

I gotta say I don’t get this gun!

Look at Destinee’s hands….I suspect she has smaller mitts than me:

And for reloads they have extended mags:

The Kahr holds the same amount of the same ammo, but its smaller, lighter, and gives you a bigger grip to hang onto. Never shot the two side-by-side, but that TALL slide and the short grip, I can’t imagine the Kahr being WORSE to shoot.

The Kahr is more expensive than the XDs….but you can FIND the Kahr. Also all Kahr has to do is make a CM45, and it’ll just blow the XDs out of the water…heck the CM45 is pretty close…but holds more, and is cheaper.
