Partisan Hackery

In the wake of the Wisconsin Recall I’m just amazed at the hackery from the Left…but only because its their turn to be hacks.

I’m all for playing politics, but I just HATE Partisan politics. The GOP Presidential primary was a prime example. Seriously, a threw up in my mouth every time people called Mitt Romney a “Conservative”, or Compared Newt Gingrich to Ronald Reagan. Let’s face it, those guys are RINOS, and you voted for the “R” after their name. You’re an idiot!

Now people are talking about “Buying Elections” because Scott Walker raised a lot of funds. But they’re ignoring that Obama raised shit-tons of money with his boyish charm and Marxist Revolutionary Ideals in the 2008 election. Nor do they seem to notice that no matter how much money ANYBODY spends, it doesn’t seem to sway their vote. Hell I voted for Ron Paul in the Mass Primary, and fully plan to vote for Gary Johnson in the general election, and both of those guys are dead-broke.

Also it seems that the bloggers who bitch the most about “buying elections” are most often the people who were expressing the ideals and joys of Dennis Kucinich in 2007 (while attacking Obama and Clinton for their “Right-Wing Warmongering”). If elections can be bought, how’d you manage to overlook the rich guy and vote for the political pauper?

Meanwhile I donated for the first (and likely last) time in the Scott Brown Senate race…and then I voted where I sent my money. Funny how that works. People who raise a lot of money have a lot of support.

Also I’m sick of people on one side bitching about how “Radical” the other side has become. Look, we don’t want RINOs on our side, and the leftis don’t want Blue dogs on theirs. Bitching about “Radicals” isn’t about ideals or getting along, they just want an ideal world where if they lose a seat to the other party, at least that person will still vote with them.

And these same Kucinich types will be caught bitching about “Reich-Wing Terror” or such hardcore conservatives like Scott Brown, Olympia Snow, and Susan Collins.

And its not like any GOP-types gave Al Gore a second look when he tied Joe Liberman to his ticket. Or Right-Wing-Hacks didn’t express the shame when moderate Bill Richardson got thrown out of office.

Just fight for your own side, and let the other side do what they will!

Neat Concept!

Just listened to this Carcast

I’m really not much of a classic car guy. I love the old body styles and classic lines…but really we’re never really going backwards these days with cars. Your classic performance mustang is really today’s base model, and the performance car is yesterday’s supercar.

That being said looking over a classic sports car I always admired the stripped-down nature they had. Bench seats covered in rich Corinthian Naugahyde, maybe it had a radio, no AC, sheet metal dash, bare metal roof and floorpan. Compared with today’s high performance cars that are dripping with options. Talk to a hot-rodder and the first thing they do is dig out a ton of comfort items you just don’t need. Seems a shame to throw away perfectly good stuff simply because race car.

Nice that Subaru/Toyota are making such a car. RWD, Standard shift, and it looks like almost no options.

Man once the Scion version comes out (sorry, I just can’t plant my ass in a Subaru…just can’t) and they start filtering into the used market….nah I probably won’t, but I’ll be thinking about it.

“Gun Death” natural Disaster

Saw this headline and I thought I’d point it out.

Several people in northern Italy were killed by an earthquake on Tuesday, civil protection officials told CNN, saying they did not yet have a confirmed number of dead.

Italian news agency ANSA said at least three people had been killed.

The earthquake came nine days after a quake in the same region killed seven people.

Earthquakes are no joke, what they also aren’t are “Gun Deaths”, so let’s just pretend they didn’t happen.

Yakkity Tuba

For North of the Gun Blog Blacklist who said

Yakety Sax, the official Epic Fail music of the progressives.

BTW I had that cassette and as a young Tuba Player (Ya call me a “Tubist” and we may need to discuss “Music Theory” out in the parking lot, Mr. Man!) I played the CRAP out of that song.

In my Tuba days I always preferred the sound of a Sousaphone as that MASSIVE Bell allows for a MUCH more aggressive sound than the concert tuba.

Still I always assumed that he played that song on a concert horn with rotary valves which are mechanically faster than the piston valves on that horn, but he makes that song his bitch!

BTW the Album was my first exposure to Tom Waits with a fairly literal cover of Tom Trobart’s Blues.

Good Times!

Where Does He Find These

never heard of the gun, never heard of the cartridge, and even he doesn’t know how to get the barrel out.

Evolutionary dead-end, and looks like quite the ergonomical nightmare!

How cool is that?

More on the CATO SYG Talk

We first talked about it here. George was an awesome dude and found where the entire talk was posted (tho the rebuttal round is omitted)

I put it on my phone last night, and listened to it during my morning rounds in the lab. Dr. Cramer’s talk was very informative, and very good. I re-listened to Mas Ayoob’s section because he’s that awesome and knowledgeable. And then Steven Jansen appeared to call them both liars, and cite law that as far as I can tell as a layman are untrue.

WOW I REALLY want to hear that rebuttal round!
