CSGV and the Big Lie

This is really rich!

Now if Ladd means “Convicted Drug Dealer”, well then posession of a gun by them is a FEDERAL felony, and they don’t get to go home, and they’ll likely face some jail time barring any twisted plea bargaining…and that’s not counting the serious doubt that will be cast on the SYG claim.

Of course we know how Ladd feels about due process. I think by “Drug Dealer” he means “Lawful Citizen defending their life”.

Yep, you own a gun, CSGV thinks you’re a drug dealer. Good for them!

Go Scott Walker!

Scott Walker defeated a Democrat Governor in a blue state. Scott Walker chose to take his state’s economy out of a tail spin by fighting back against the Unions who were choking the life out of the economy. Not liking that the union bosses fought back (as is their right).

They lost…Scott Won!

I just took a lap of the lefty blogs. Most are silent (where they would otherwise be doing a victory lap) some are pouting. I’m smiling!

“Gun Death” Horrible Driver

We can’t compare vehicle deaths with “Gun Deaths”…why? Just because.

Authorities say Jonas popped a wheelie on a blue “crotch rocket” sports cycle before he hit Tyrell Baymon on Saturday afternoon — fracturing the child’s skull on his fourth birthday — and then continued down a Frogtown street.

Jonas, 25, looked back but refused to stop because he feared a group of men who ran at him, yelling, he later told police.

When I first saw the headline and the photos of the victim I was wondering if this was a case of a young boy darting out into traffic. That’s one of the earliest road hazards they tell drivers to look out for because even a low-speed collision with a small child can be fatal. You try to watch out for such things but it can happen to anybody. Still when the driver sped off, all bets were off!

Now let’s look at the monster who did this.

According to court records, Jonas was cited on six occasions between March and December 2011 for driving-related offenses that included speeding, failing to drive with due care and driving with a revoked or invalid license.

Earlier this month, he was sentenced in Hennepin County District Court to one year of probation for a December violation — the third time he had been cited for driving without a valid license. He also was cited in May 2011 for driving a motorcycle without being properly licensed or insured….Witnesses reported seeing Jonas driving recklessly earlier. He popped multiple wheelies while driving very fast on Lafond Avenue, the complaint states.

Jonas told police the crash occurred following a single wheelie that came about when he hit the gas at a stop sign — prompting the front end to pop up. When the bike came back down, he said, he saw a woman standing at the back of a vehicle. He said he didn’t see Tyrell until it was too late.

So we have the PRIVILEGE of driving that requires a license, insurance, and registration. This creep did NONE of that, and ignored all laws and warnings from police. Is this any different than the criminal element carrying and using guns illegally? According to Antis it is, and by adding similar laws we’d stop similar crimes. But wait there’s more!

Charges filed in Ramsey County District Court allege that Jonas, whose family lives on the East Side, ditched the motorcycle in a friend’s garage about 1 1/2 miles from the scene. Police learned he had a female friend in the area and later contacted Jonas by phone. He was arrested about 5 p.m. Sunday at a motel in Shakopee.

St. Paul Police Chief Thomas Smith credited community members for calling in tips.

Not only did he severely injure (and there’s still a possibility that the poor boy may die from his injuries) a young boy, and speed off, but he had a friend who was willing to cover for the crime. The cynic wonders if it hadn’t been a young boy if these tips would have been given to police.

Again wanton criminal behavior, with no regard for the laws of the land or of civil society. What do the antis have for them?

They could care less. This death isn’t useful for them, so they ignore it. How horrible is that?

Birdshot In Meat

Wow, you may remember this post where I spoke out against birdshot in shotguns. I’m still not a huge fan of the idea, but he makes a compelling point:

Kinda hard to argue with that. Also if you’re using birdshot, I’m sure you’re not using an H&R single-shot, but a modern repeater of some sort, and what’s worth shooting once is worth shooting twice!

Oh and he was talking about #4 shot. Here’s a video of somebody we can all respect.

All interesting.

Squee!

So I just checked my sitemeter and found that it was spinning.

Turns out that I made Tam’s QOTD!

OK, I’ve been linked by Tam before, but she wasn’t a Comic Book Hero before!!!

I was a comic book Hero once too…but sadly it was only in a short-lived webcomic that is no-more. (Written and Drawn by a guy I went to High School with who decided to write all his drinkin’ buddies into the comic)

Funny How That Works…

Wow, if this case wasn’t a great example of gun control, I don’t know what is.

Los Angeles police say a 1-year-old boy has died after he and his father were shot by a teenager on a bicycle….The suspect fled and hasn’t been arrested.

Police could not immediately name a motive, but Tingirides says investigators were leaning heavily toward gang rivalry being the cause.

So we have somebody who’s underage, illegally carrying a gun, probably a stolen gun, and they probably already have convictions, and this is suspected to be gang-related.

All of these factors, but those who are against freedom ONLY focus on the gun. What’s really scary is how little anti-rights activists play the bleeding-heart card about “Victims of Gun Violence”, but never seem to note the toll that gangs (and the drug prohibitions that give the gangs their recruitment draw and power) play on public safety.

Anti-Self-Defense

Wow, just have a look at this article by Joan Peterson. She starts off by citing this biased article talking about people claiming self-defense and being released.

They of course give no data on the various cases, but imply that somehow all these self-defense cases are legalized murder. Of course this does happen, and has happened since the dawn of time, as Mas Ayoob makes note of. But that’s how the law works. You can claim anything you want, and the law needs to decide if they have a case, and the court of law decided if charges are valid, and what punishments need to be administered.

Still she doubles-down in the end which REALLY shows how anti-rights cultists stand.

Do we have throw away people in this country? Real people have become the collateral damage of the NRA’s agenda. Trayvon Martin for one. Darius Simmons who was moving the garbage cart in front of his house for another. Burglars who happen to run through the yard of a Texas home owner? And yet another- Bo Morrisson who hid in a Wisconsin man’s back porch because of trouble at a near-by party, meaning no harm and unarmed. And how about Yoshihiro Hattori unfamiliar with American customs on Halloween who shows up at the wrong house for a party and got blown away by the home owner just because? Are these throw-away people? Is stealing with no intent to do harm a reason for being shot? Is getting the garbage innocently not realizing that the man next door thinks you stole his guns reason to be blown away by the man? Is innocently showing up at the wrong house on Halloween a reason to be shot? Is walking around in a neighborhood unarmed meaning no harm while wearing a hoodie a reason for a vigilante with a gun to shoot you? Laws can be amended or changed when it is obvious they are harmful. People’s lives cannot be brought back when they are wrongfully dead. Let’s not throw away our common sense in the guise of the NRA’s dark version of self defense.

If you aren’t familiar with the case she gives articles on all of the cases…well except this one, where the shooter has been charged with murder, so it doesn’t even pertain to her point.

All of the “Throw Away” people were committing aggressive crimes, and some were career criminals. In most of the cases it could be argued that if the defender hadn’t shot THEY might be dead.

So there’s the crux of all anti-rights “Progressive” arguments. Violent Criminal life is sacred, and peaceful lawful life is forfeit.

In her addled mind this is what passes for “Common Sense”.

“Progressive” Stupidity

Bob has an amusing post up on NYC decriminalizing marijuana, and the hypocrisy when one notes their restriction on various food items.

I pointed out the New York City has HEAVY restrictions on tobacco smoking, essentially Bloomberg is trying to ban smoking in all spaces that are accessible to the public. (Let’s not look too deep at the fact that you can be standing on a sidewalk next to and overfilled garbage can, a dumpster in the ally, a homeless person using the toilet behind the dumpster, and countless cars, trucks, and buses idling in a traffic jam, while jets and helicopters fly in low…but god forbid somebody sparks up a butt!)

This is NOT public health, this is legislation of a social doctrine. This is no difference than Theocracy, such as Muslims restricting Alcohol and Pork for consumption, but have no restriction on Marijuana. Or say why its illegal to butcher a horse or dog for meat in America, but there are many nations where its a common culinary tradition.

Massachusetts is (per usual) is right behind NYC in banning smoking, but legalizing marijuana. Heck Boston is even working to ban Electronic Cigarettes, meanwhile you can smoke a joint while sitting on a park bench in Boston, and if the person refuses to give identification when caught, the WORST that can happen is the pot will be confiscated by the police.

Also I was musing to Bob about the smoking of “Blunts” which is a hollowed-out cigar that is then stuffed with marijuana. The wrapper is made of tobacco, and I’m sure there is some tobacco filler left in the mix. So what is this? Is this “good” Marijuana, or “Evil” tobacco? This is as stupid as “Texting while Riverdancing”.

And in closing I found this quote in the Wikipedia article to be a further example of this stupidity. Yeah its Wikipedia, but I think its representative of current “Progressive” thinking.

Due to the tobacco content in the wrapper leaf, blunts carry with them the risks of tobacco use, including addiction and cancer

Ok the addiction part is valid, Marijuana doesn’t contain nicotine, and THC does not have the addictive qualities of nicotine, still what’s with the cancer bit?

YOU’RE INHALING SMOKE! Not only that, but you’re substituting dry cured tobacco for damp green marijuana buds!

Sorry kids, but inhaling ALL smoke is bad for you, it doesn’t matter if its weed, or if you’re just doing a LOT of grilling or sitting around a camp fire!

Nothing like people who have no knowledge of biology or medicine dictating what’s “Healthy” for us all!

I’d say just let people wear their big kid pants and do what they want, and everybody else wear their big kid pants and know that you don’t have to like or love how other people spend their time.
