Protip of the Day: Mas Ayoob

I have never thought of this, but Mas Ayoob points out a very good point of advice.

My advice to YOU if YOU’RE ever involved in a shooting: request to be taken to a hospital to have a blood sample and toxicology screen taken. A “negative for everything” result will prevent false allegations later that you were drunk or drugged-up when you pulled the trigger.

I enjoy a good adult beverage from time to time. I also carry a gun for my defense and the defense of others. I do not mix those two ever. Also many states are relaxing their Marijuana laws, making it more-or-less legal to own and smoke weed for therapy or recreation. I would advise if you carry to not imbibe because its still illegal FEDERALLY, and the chemicals can be traced in your systems for days.

If you stick with this, in the event you need to shoot somebody your blood, breath, and piss will be clean. Give up a sample of whatever they’ll take as hard evidence of both your sobriety as well as your cooperation with the investigation. I will note that I think Zimmerman’s cooperation with the police in both being the man on the phone with 911, as well as cooperating with police after they arrived on the scene of Martin’s death played no small part in Zimmerman breathing free air today, albeit with death threats and racist bounties on his head.

That last bit also shows that if you can AVOID a confrontation, its ALWAYS the best, even if you’re 100% in the right.

Good advice.

Quote of the day: Context

From Joan:

On the way to church this morning, we saw a group of teens walking along the street with hooded sweatshirts on. It happened they these were black teens. But it could have been white teens. It’s a sunny, but chilly day in my neck of the woods today so it is not a surprise to see people with hoods of their jackets or sweatshirts up around their heads for warmth. But after the Trayvon Martin case, a hooded sweatshirt will never look quite the same.

All I could think is after the Trayvon Martin case a teenager on somebody’s chest beating away at their face while their victim screams at the top of their lungs for help looks about the same to me. Still my goal as a self-defense activist hopes that trying to beat on a random stranger looks a whole lot different to people who have such behavior in their social tool box.

This doesn’t just go for gun and self-defense friendly states like Florida or Texas, but states like Massachusetts or California are finding their offices that issue carry permits are taxed to the ragged edge keeping up with demand, as are gun counters selling guns to people.

Further if Zimmerman’s story is true (and the corroborating evidence is pointing that way) this has nothing to do with “Stand Your Ground” or “Shoot First”. This is plain-Jayne “Justifiable Homicide” which is 100% legal in every state in the union, and an atrocity to damn near every American when you hear about somebody in England going to prison for doing the same thing.

Of course the Anti-Freedom people don’t believe ANYBODY should defend their own life, certainly not against somebody who is unarmed, but still doing their best to beat you to death.

There are a lot of people who are claiming Mr. Martin’s hoodie has something to do with his death. They ignore the fact that he was wandering, close to dark, in the rain, potentially on drugs, and attacked a man who was reporting his suspicious behavior to Police.

Of course they want Zimmerman not only to be a murderer, but they want the motive to be because Mr. Martin was black, and Zimmerman was a Klansman. Further they want a race riot. With the way guns and permits have been going around, people are going to be defending their lives and their homes from the riots. This will result in “Gun Death” which is the currency of those who hate freedom.

Thankfully most of us want better.

“Gun Death” Car Crash

Can’t Compare Cars and Guns

Five Bowling Green State University sorority sisters, hoping to be enjoying spring break this morning on a Dominican Republic beach, instead were involved in a horrific highway accident early Friday that claimed four lives. One of the dead is a BGSU junior from Aurora…The State Highway Patrol said the car carrying the sorority members was hit by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 75, not far from the university. The patrol said the collision occurred where northbound lanes slope downward and there is a broad curve.

Two vehicles with members of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority were traveling together on their way to Detroit. The students planned to catch an early-morning flight to Newark, N.J., and from there go to Punta Cana, a popular beach resort.

The people who use “Gun Death” as a metric will often point out to accidents with guns, but with gun accidents rarely is there such a body count. Is there a reason why “Gun Death” is a somehow a valid metric?

This is Why Zimmerman Isn’t in Jail

Look at this video.

Zimmerman was cooperative and polite to police. He had a story of self-defense that matched injuries. He was interrogated several times over several hours and the story stayed the same. Witnesses and forensic evidence matched his story.

Factor in whatever Martin’s School and juvenile record and autopsy results say, which haven’t been made public, and you have what looks beyond a reasonable doubt like self defense.

Funny how the same people complain of being treated unjustly by police because of their skin color, would like others to be treated unjustly by the police because of THEIR skin color.

A Little More on the Zimmerman Shooting

First there’s a recent photo of Zimmerman released. looks like the orange jumpsuit picture was after his 2005 arrest where all charges were dropped. Looks like he’s a LOT more trim. He’s still 5’09”, which is “Short” by my standards. I’ll also note during his 911 call when he was perusing Martin, he was never heard to be running.

Obama’s best friends, the New Black Panther Party are putting a Vigilante bounty of $10,000 on Zimmerman’s head, they’re looking to raise more to sweeten the deal of murdering an innocent man. I would point out that this is hypocrisy, but I’m starting to wonder if these people aren’t simply misrepresenting the truth because they are angry, violent, racists.

Speaking of angry violent racists. “Snuffy” Pfleger is doing his general hate-filled bullshit on this case.

The more I see the more I side on Mr. Zimmerman. It seems that most of my thoughts to his guilt are misinformation, or unfounded claims. At this point I think Zimmerman was acting in self-defense, and unless they decide to make him a sacrificial lamb for these racist jerks, he’ll walk free. Then we’ll see race riots and innocent people getting killed.

Its sad.

Watch a World View Being Crushed

Stephen Crowder shows how to be an ambassador for gun rights in this interview. Also watch the face of the woman who’s giving the interview. He hits every one of her points dead on and without effort, and probably gives answers she never even considered. She’s realizing she’s on the wrong side of the issue.

The question is, will she do the RIGHT thing and look more into the issue and change sides, or the WRONG thing and double-down on what she now doubts as “Truth”.

Spent Yesterday at Wally’s, and Boy Is My Ass Sore

WOW, a bunch of us gathered at the York Arms factory in Maine with proprietor, commentor, and all-around machine-gun mad scientist, Wally.

It would have been a small job, except the roof pitch required staging which doubled the job. We got about 95% done and everything weatherproofed before the sun went down.

It was close to 13 hours on a roof, Four total roof Monkeys. No injuries.

“Gunplay” for the day involved me doing an 8-round burst from a 10″ Full-auto .300 Blackout M4. (BTW I was amazed at how low the recoil was. I’ve shot a full-auto AK-47 and 7.62×39 in that heavy rifle is controllable, but it boots your shoulder…this didn’t feel too different than shooting a 5.56×45 M4 full-auto.)

So lugging shingles and squirreling around on the roof for about 13 straight hours has left me S O R E!

Having breakfast and then heading home.

I must say it was a fun weekend!

“Gun Death” Home Invasion

Wow, this is a scary one!

A 2-year-old child was stabbed, along with two other men, by a home intruder in Rochester, Minn. early Thursday.

Rochester police say a man armed with a knife broke into the home around 6 a.m. while the occupants were asleep. A woman, woken by a noise, found the intruder in the 2-year-old’s bedroom. Her brother and another male guest then fought with the intruder, during which they were both stabbed along with the toddler…Capt. Brian Winters told the Rochester Post-Bulletin it appears the assailant and victims were familiar to each other, ruling out a random crime.

Obviously if we ban guns it would stop this! Right?

“Gun Death” Stabbing

We need “common sense” knife control laws!

A man is dead and a woman injured after a stabbing in Richfield today. The two are related to each another, police said.

Police were called to a double stabbing in the 7000 block of Elliot Avenue S. at 11:55 a.m. A man was dead at the scene and a woman was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life threatening stab wounds.

Another man was found at HCMC with stab wounds that were also not life threatening, police said. The third victim, though related to one of the Richfield stabbing victims, was stabbed in Minneapolis the previous night, police said.

Of course the knife is one of the first tools ever used by man, and even those first knives were used for murder. We can ban all the guns, and we’ll still have violence, we’ve always had violence.

If somebody comes at me with a knife, I’ll be putting a “Gun Death” onto the boards if that’s what it takes. Not that “Gun Death” matters much.

There will be no vigil for these people.
