Joat sends me this gem.
I’m amazed that the PERFECT mix of crass humor and damn quality cinematography, acting, and direction.
And there’s lots more where that came from.
Impressive!

This one is Vague, but we can note something by its absence.
A man hurt in a fight outside a bar in Proctor has died of his injuries….Wobig says it appears Anderson had a dispute with a man inside the bar and took their argument outside. He says investigators are looking at videotape from the bar to help determine what happened.
You know what you don’t need to look at a video tape for? Bullet holes. I think its safe to say, however this man died it wasn’t a “Gun Death”….so really its irrelevant.

Too messed up to not post
WOW! I’ll have nightmares now fer sure!
We’ve been over this many times people, but given the most recent thing involving Bill Engvall blabbing about the 2nd Amendment and somehow like it has ANYTHING to do with ducks and deer.
I think most of the “Fudds” have gotten the message, it it could be that Mr. Engvall is a wealthy comedian now so he may have a bit of Ivory Tower syndrome. Or it could be that while he’s a “Redneck Comic” he’s famous because of the “Comic” part, not from the “Redneck” part. He may hunt deer for fun, but nobody will PAY him hunt for them. (That was Jim Zumbo) and likely he’s sacrificed a LOT of time in the treestand and the blind for his career.
That’s all a nice way of saying he’s out of touch. This is for all the Bill’s out there.
On Tuesday, Lanny Breuer, Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, testified before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism about his knowledge of BATFE’s gunwalking operations, and his support for gun control…”Today, Senator, we are not even permitted to have ATF receive reports about multiple sales of long guns, of any kind of semiautomatic weapon or the like. . . . Very few hunters in the United States or sports people and law-abiding people really need to have semiautomatic weapons or long guns. . . .”
So here’s the mission. I write a gun blog. I talk about guns, gear, knives, and politics. If you’re reading me you’re probably interested in some of the same things. You get it. You probably carry a handgun for protection, you own “high capacity” magazines, and you probably have what Jim Zumbo called a “Terrorist Rifle”. But now Zumbo and Engvall were talking about what I probably would best describe as defensive/SHTF rifles. Of course even that is wrong, there are many sports that are designed around semi-auto rifles that accept detachable magazines, from three-gun to high-power, but also these rifles are PERFECTLY suited for hunting everything from small game to large dangerous game. A tactical shotgun will harvest birds just as easily as from a traditional wing gun.
You need to seek out somebody who owns guns, but aren’t enamored with them. These are the people who bring a half-empty box of tarnished .308 Soft points to the range to sight in their rifle, then stoke up the magazine and go walking through the woods, maybe they take a single shot, maybe they don’t. Then they go home, clean the mud off of it, and it goes on the wall until next year. The guy who is crazy about breaking little clay birds, but has no interest on any other shooting sports.
Find them and talk to them about this. Let them know that unlike your more limited deer rifle, or bird gun, these can be cleaned up and go into service to protect the home from danger. And remember that’s why the founding fathers wrote the 2nd Amendment. They got the hunting thing. They didn’t have grocery stores back then, if they were hungry somebody needed to shoot a critter, toss a line in the sea or pond, or physically raise the livestock on their land. Even the guy with his small heard of cows to feed the village needed his guns to keep the cattle safe from predators. But there’s nothing about deer, ducks, or wolves in the US Constitution, they didn’t fear that being taken away, they had no fear that hunting would be banned. Instead they feared their oppressive government.
And talk to them about this quote. The cat is out of the bag. The adjustable M4 stock on an AR-15 doesn’t make it so you can tuck it in your back pocket to rob a liquor store, or somehow less suited for hunting (and actually MORE suited for hunting as you can adjust your gun for how thick your clothing is that day, or for what shooting position you’re taking), or that a bayonet lug has anything to do with ANYTHING (Hell the Army isn’t even training use of a Bayonet anymore) Read the above quote, they’re not after the kickass tactical guns I like, they’re after YOUR guns. You have a semi-auto shotgun for trap, skeet, or bird hunting? Use an auto-loading rifle? These people don’t see a difference between an Auto-5 and a Benelli riot gun. They don’t see the difference between a Browning BAR hunting rifle, and a SCAR-16 carbine.
And when you think about it that way, do you think these people don’t have a problem with a bolt-action repeater? Or a Pump Action Shotgun? How about your trusty .30-30 Lever rifle?
There are a lot less “Fudds” then there was before the 94 Assault weapons ban, but there are still plenty of them, and we need to seek them out, and give them the straight dope!
Today is a day to thank those of us who have served in battle in the name of this country.
Whenever I personally thank a Veteran or service-member for what they did, I always get rebuffed like it was no big deal.
No it wasn’t, but hey, I won’t argue with you.
I’ll just thank you.
Thank you to all of our veterans, and those currently serving.
This one is pretty horrific.
They didn’t know their attacker. The weapons he used were a crossbow and a hatchet. His motivation? Demons made him do it.
Certainly we need to regulate the tools rather than pass a bit of scrutiny on the monster who did this. Also cases involving “Gun Death” are far more relevant to the issues, aren’t they?

I always like to point out stories like this because while we talk a lot about keeping and bearing arms to protect against violent people. We shoot on human silhouette targets and ones with armed attackers on them.
That’s not foolishness, as humans are the most dangerous predator against other humans…but they aren’t the ONLY predators.
A South Seattle man fatally shot a pit bull late Monday after it attacked another dog…“The woman, her husband and others made numerous attempts to stop the attack using rocks and other yard implements to no avail,” Detective Jeff Kappel said in a statement. “With the boxer bleeding and obviously injured and fearing his wife was about to be attacked by the pit bull, the woman’s husband retrieved a handgun and shot the pitbull once, fatally wounding it and ending its attack.”
Good move. One thing about animals is they are NOT people so there is more leeway in the law. Also while violent criminals are a very unpredictable lot, violent animals are vastly more unpredictable, and they don’t understand that when a guy pulls a gun they need to straighten up and fly right to take a dirt nap.
Again carry your guns, the world isn’t a safe place, and weather you live in the country or the big city, 4 legged predators are always a danger.
Disavowed With Honor responds with an amusing dream interpretation.
The cat: Representation of an aloof Government that doesn’t want you to do anything for yourself, hence dependant upon them (I always knew cats would try to take over).
The puppies: Representation of your rights that the cat won’t let you have.
The cucumber: Representation of the governement distraction. That thing you want, but ultimately, never get to see. (Bet you thought I was gonna go with Dr. Freud didn’t you?)
The parking lot: Representation of the waste land that this country is becoming. A place to “Occupy” with little else.
So you are faced with the Great American Distraction while trying to get your Rights back, but the government won’t let you, and you see the results all around you in an Occupied, yet vacant, landscape. Your “friends” from central casting are all of us fellow bloggers you haven’t met. We are in the same predicament. Linoge being there is someone you recognize to be in the same situation. Because you are familiar with him, it allows you to be anchored to the dream by having a familiar and common ground personality with you.
OR… I could go with Freudian cucumbers if you like? 😉
Or it could be that I had an upset stomach.
Still he has a point, and I appreciate staying away from Freud. It just so happens that cucumbers are one of my favorite tastes of summer, and sliced with a little salt and pepper they’re one of the best snacks around if you get the fresh off the vine, they lose a LOT once they age.
Also as much of a dear friend as I consider him, I have yet to meet Linoge, but damn-it we’ll hoist a pint some day, by George!
OK so this all starts at Joan Peterson’s Twitter page where she links this news story.
There was panic in the emergency room at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital on Wednesday night. Cecilia Belle-Singleton was a patient inside when bullets started flying…A Bronx-Lebanon spokesperson said the fight stemmed from an altercation that a male patient in the ER had outside the hospital earlier in the day. The theory is whoever he had a fight with or people that knew about the fight must have came back to retaliate.
“An individual in our waiting room pulled out a concealed weapon and our security officers immediately went into action to prevent more seriously problems from occurring,” spokesperson Errol Schneer said….Bullets ricocheted off the ceiling as patients and staff ran for cover. Police said two men, a security guard and a nurse suffered superficial gunshot wounds. The suspects took off, but were quickly apprehended and were put in lineups outside the hospital for witnesses to identify.
I’m pretty sure NYC doesn’t have binding signage, as states that are severely draconian about who GETS a carry permit, aren’t very restrictive on WHERE one can carry. (You wouldn’t want to harass the Mayors cousin when he carries a gun into a posted store) But certainly this person didn’t have a permit. Also if this crime is consistent with the shit we see in Boston the perp is likely under the age of 21, and it doesn’t say WHY there was an altercation in an Emergency Room, but I’m guessing it was over the illegal vocation of the perp, or over acquiring certain recreational pharmaceuticals, and I’ll put money that this won’t be his first felony charge.
Of course the point of Joan’s tweet is the same idea as Collin Goddard’s message. A bad thing happened in this place with a gun…if we make EVERYPLACE like this place the world will be better.
Odd how they don’t have any such stories about various Open Carry protests or gun club social dinners, blog dinners, and other situations where you have lawful gun owners carrying their guns.
These people never hesitate to dance in the blood of victims, as “Gun Death” and “Gun Violence” are their currency that they use to push their agenda, is there any wonder why they push to make the law in your town or state the same as the towns and states that have such horrible violent crime problems?
Essentially an employee was fired for wearing an American Flag lapel pin. Their right to fire him for it, our rights to throw the “asshole” flag on the play.
Also note that I cribbed the post title directly from Borepatch for a specific reason.
