Slow Morning

Got up late, had an upset stomach last night that is waning but still there, and I’m swamped at work.

Still before I forget about it I thought I’d share my strange dream I had last night.

Now before I start, again I’ll note I was indeed having some digestion issues last night. Generally that results in some freaky nightmares, or some bizarre tours of an MC Escher dream-scape.

Nope, last night I dreamed that Linoge and I, and a bunch of friends who must have been from central casting, because I knew they were my pals, and I was happy they were around, but I sure as hell had no idea who they were, or even their names, were waiting in line for what was told to me was a summer cucumber eating contest.

It was just us standing in line and talking about random shit. It was just an asphalt parking lot, and I couldn’t even see any cucumbers or tables or anything…nor did I know what a “Cucumber Eating Contest” entailed, and if I’d be playing or just watching other fools.

The one real oddity was a man pulling a red wagon filled with Akita Puppies and one slinky old white cat. If you went to pat the puppies the cat would go Exorcist and hiss and spit in the most loud and vicious way I’d ever encountered….so I left the dogs alone.

That was the dream. A bit strange…but really I was amazed just how fucking boring it was. I’ve read that everybody dreams every night, and just most of the time we forget them. Strange that such a forgettable dream was remembered…..

“Gun Death” Quiet Town

Those who which to limit freedoms often say for a violent crime to happen you need to have a dangerous area, and guns.

Authorities say the two men did not know each other but were in two rival groups that met on the streets just after midnight Sunday.

Authorities say Pilalas started swinging a knife during a fight, piercing Goulart’s heart. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead…It was the town’s first homicide since 1996.

They say if you stay away from dangerous areas you’re safe and don’t need a gun. Also if people don’t have guns violent altercations won’t turn deadly.

That’s the purpose of the “Gun Death?” Files, to expose the lies of the talking points, but also to raise awareness on our side. Of course it also shows how violent a world that still has violent criminals, but no guns can be.

There’s talk in the story the departed protecting a friend from the attacker at the time of his fatal stabbing. Also the news says they didn’t know each other but were from “Rival Groups”, which says “Crime” to me. So there’s one account of nobility and one of crime, I’ll call it a wash.

That being said when a thug like this guy comes flashing a knife do you think you’ll be better or worse off you have a gun handy?

In a world without guns the crazy guy with the knife kills you…

Full Circle

So Tam has picked up my recent post on Joan Peterson, and she talks about actual compromises that I suspect she doesn’t much care for, but are indeed compromises.

Sebastian indeed has openly contacted several people in the anti-gun world about a licensing and background check idea and his response has been nothing.

Sebastian does have a point. His ideas can be seen to fail the Jews in the Attic Test, I’d be fine just to have a mark on everybody’s driver’s license denoting prohibited person status. Doesn’t matter if you own guns or not (just the same way that most states issue a different license to those who are over 21 for the purpose of alcohol consumption…drink or no drink, your ID says weather you have the choice or not). You buy a gun, you flash your DL and you walk out with the gun. (Also FYI this might wake some people up to the bullshit laws that will take your rights away)

You get caught faking your ID, you face serious charges.

Now ideally in Weer’d World buying a gun shouldn’t be any different than buying a pocket knife or a power saw. Buy it out of the trunk of a car from Sumdood himself, who cares, because misusing the gun (or anything else) is the important part….also a lot more people being armed around mean if you decide to do something stupid or bad you could get your ass shot.

But that’s a compromise. Compromise is NOT what they want. These people want the same “Compromise” the Palestinian people want. They want to kill all the Jews, and then they’ll probably start sharpening their scimitars for the Christians etc. The anti-gun people want to ban ALL GUNS, and then look to ban knives. These are the people who are excited when some commie said they wanted to repeal the 2nd Amendment.

When they talk about licensing they aren’t thinking a New Hampshire carry permit where they just double-check your background and give you a card, they’re thinking Chicago style permitting where they require a permit to OWN a gun and they close the registry after a while so no new gun owners, and eventually the old guard dies and private gun ownership is over.

When they talk about universal background checks they aren’t talking about popping down to your corner gun shop to set up a transfer (and maybe the guy at the shop is your buddy, or sees you come in to buy a few boxes of ammo every week or new guns so he waives the fee) they’re talking about Mexico-Style where you may need to board a PLANE to get to travel thousands of miles to the ONE shop, go through a TSA-style screen to ENTER the shop, and when you get in there you get to see a selection of guns that makes the bullshit Massachusetts system look lavish. (Just to give you an idea, .380 Auto, and .38 Super are the most popular handgun calibers in Mexico because calibers like 9x19mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, and .38 Special are “Military and Police Calibers” and illegal for civilians to own), and the article doesn’t say, but I know the ONE GUN SHOP in Washington DC (which doesn’t actually SELL guns, he just signs for the package from another FFL and then transfers the gun to you…and you need to make an appointment because he doesn’t have shop hours) charges $150 just for the transfer. With one shop in the nation, and given that this asshole charge $150 for literally NOTHING (The shops around here charge between $20 and $50, but they have a shop, rent, insurance, and employees, and I can just show up during business hours and get the job done) who’s to say $500 just to call the NICS line is unreasonable?…$1000?

They don’t actually want to talk compromise because in any compromise situation lawful people get to own guns. They don’t want that, so we get the responses we do.

Finally Happy

So those who have been following the blog closely know I acquired a Romanian SKS for a good price, and by default it became my SHTF rifle. I must say I have a lot of love for the SKS it has good ergonomics and out to 100 yards its passably accurate. Also while its a fixed-magazine semi-auto it can be quickly reloaded using 10 round stripper clips.

Still its a communist rifle and it exemplifies the Soviet military mindset at being “Adequate” in every way. I yearned for more gun.

So I dropped a little more coin for a WASR-10

Long story short, after a few months I found that if I wanted to burn 7.62x39mm ammo, I was still bringing the SKS to the range. The WASR just wasn’t fun to shoot, and just didn’t sing to me, and I’ll say 90% of that was changing magazines on the gun. AK pattern guns just require some very unnatural movements to seat that magazine, and magazine changes are kinda the whole point to getting a detachable magazine gun, so I went and sold it.

You see, 7.62×39 was a compromise for me anyway. More powerful than 5.56x45mm which I just don’t have a lot of confidence with, and the ammo is easy to get. Still my true love is 7.62x51mm/.308 Win when it comes to muzzle energy, bullet size/weight, and availability.

So the guns I looked at were the AR-10, the PTR-91/H&K G3/CETME, M1A, FN FAL, and the FN SCAR-17.

Out of the box the SCAR-17 is the vastly superior gun in every way…but with its standard folding stock it is not Massachusetts legal. They also sell for about $3000, and guns and magazines are virtually unavailable, so that got ruled out. The AR-10 is a nice gun, but I’m not crazy about the AR platform, and the magazines are a nightmare to find in Massachusetts, and they’re super expensive when you do. The CETME platform is an ergonomic nightmare, eats brass, and is the ONLY gun here without a bolt hold-open. H&K? You suck and I hate you!

So that left the M1A and the FAL. They’re close enough for government work, but the FAL has better ergonomics, IMHO a more robust design, and magazines are easier to aquire. So it won, and I bought a Century L1A1 Sporter:

I got it for a smoking deal, and I overall liked the gun, plus the non-threaded, not muzzle-brake’d muzze was a huge selling point because of the Massachusetts AWB. Still it only took one trip to the range to work up the laundry list of issues with the gun. The big ones being A) no Sling mounts, and B) the Crappy Thumbhole stock was not only an eyesore, but it made it impossible to actuate the safety with a normal firing grip.

The issues complicated themselves more when the gun began to chronically short-stroke. I decided to give the gun to Commenter and Buddy Wally, along with a bucket of parts I got from hither and yon, and asked him to work his magic.

Well I got it back. Well it turns out what they say about Century is true. The gun was missing internal parts (namely the gas tube pins) and its halmark of quality was the drywall screw that holds the pistol grip on.

Well Wally un-fucked all that was fucked, installed the new parts, and also decided to give it a minor trigger job. The trigger was quite ugly on the gun, now its still heavy, but VERY clean.

It now functions like a champ, and after throwing a com-bloc AK sling on it:

I am so happy with it! This gun reminds me of the first time I picked up a 1911. It just makes SENSE. The controls are all where they need to be, and the gun points and shoots SO WELL. Also it puts a round I have 100% confidence in down range.

So I finally have the SHTF gun I always wanted.

Now if only we could repeal the Massachusetts Assault Weapons Ban so I could also get an 18″ Paratrooper

“Gun Death” Fanatic

There are times when one’s hobby goes vastly too far.

A Star Wars fanatic choked his Thai bride to death after she destroyed his prized collection of toys.

Rickie la Touche, 30, said his wife had damaged his treasured Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker memorabilia which he had been collecting since he was a child.

During a subsequent row he suffocated Pornpilai Srisroy, 28, before running off to his mother’s house to tell her what he had done.

The mother-of-one was later discovered dead on the couple’s bed covered with a duvet and pillow in Leigh, Greater Manchester.

Yep, she broke his toys so he killed her and his Mother.See update below -ed

Note this is in England which is one of those “Developed Nations” with very little “Gun Death”.

Of course “Guns are Bad News For Women”

h/t Bob

**UPDATE** According to this story It appears that maybe the author of the above news story was so inept that he made it sound like the creep’s mother was also murdered. Nope just one “Gun Death”.

“Gun Death” Trick-Or-Treat!

This took place two days after Halloween, but it reads like a horror story.

Two masked men armed with a machete and an axe injured a 49-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl during a home invasion in Milford last night, police said in a statement.

The man was struck with the blunt end of the axe and cut on his head and hand, and the girl had a minor foot laceration, Milford police said….The intruders made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after one suspect threatened to cut the girl to pieces, police said.

Now everybody lived, still I thought this story was more than worthy for the “Gun Death?” Files. First note that there were NO guns used in this story. The violence was horrific, and I suspect the only reason why the two people lived was because of the mercy of the criminals.

I’ll also point out that the VICTIMS were unarmed. When two masked men with axes and machetes break into your home, that would be one of those times when you NEED a gun, as the antis are so apt so say.

But this is Massachusetts, so nobody had guns, the two innocent people were harmed and traumatized, and the criminals got away.

This is the world they want for us.

OK Not Just Jew-Killing

This video shows that the Kill The Jews Movement is also about hurting random people and harrassing people…probably just-in-case they MIGHT be Jews.

Always keep a loaded gun handy, for these people are NOT peaceful protesters in any sense of the word.
