Rosanne Barr is an idiot, and deeply mentally ill. That being said, there are lots of people who don’t see her ravings as those of a lunatic.

“I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay, you know, the ability to pay back anything over $100 million [of] personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of $100 million. And if they are unable to live on that amount of that amount then they should, you know, go to the reeducation camps and if that doesn’t help, then being beheaded,” Barr said with a straight face.

Note that the $100 Million is a number she pulled out of her massive ass, and there is NOTHING stopping people from changing the goal posts to any number of things they personally don’t like.

Chances are her dreams of mass murder will never see reality, but she is NOT alone. When somebody like her DOES see power and followers you can defend yourself and others.

Carry your damn guns, people!

Slippery Slope Slides Both Ways

I think machine guns would probably be a political deal breaker. Now if we started out with them as part of the deal and we could insist they compromise and give us everyting else. Then we come back for machine guns next year.

Go read his whole post. He offers up some VERY good, and I would guess more-or-less politically easy changes to US gun laws. But when somebody mentions removing Machine Guns from the NFA (or maybe repeal of the Hughes Amendment) Joe gives the above quote.

Remember people we fight pointless bans and restrictions because there IS a slippery slope. Sure most of us might not have, or regularly use 33 round Glock magazines, but we’d never support a ban on such pistol magazines because Big #1 the ban would accomplish NOTHING in terms of public safety, but #2 we all know that if we let such a ban succeed they would next come for our 30 round rifle mags, or 10+ round pistol magazines that we DO use.

Remember the slippery slope goes both way, and most people are sheep, and ignorant of guns or gun laws. He’s a home exercise. Ask somebody you know who isn’t a gunnie and doesn’t own guns what they would need to do if they want to buy a handgun or rifle to keep at home. I know in my days as an anti I had NO idea what restrictions were out there, and I know many people who assume there ARE restrictions that don’t exist (Like I know people from Free states who assume permits are needed, and/or registration, or waiting periods).

The Bigger the swing we take, the more skittish and ignorant people we’ll scare. But SMALLER swings will be more agreeable, or seem smarter…and we’ll be CLOSER to accomplishing the bigger goals.

On the NFA Full-auto weapons are the only items that are functionally different than the “every day” guns most people have no issue with. And suppressors are simply the same technology we put on our cars, and can be shown to prove a HUGE safety and social advantage, and the fears of Suppressors are mostly supplied by Hollywood and are just as realistic as the Giant Robots, Mutant Monsters, and Shadowy Government Agencies that they portray.

Now I can argue all day that the functional difference between an AR-15 and NFA Registered M16 isn’t one I’ll lose much sleep over, and in a tactical and defensive sense a feature I wouldn’t use often even if it readily available. Really they’re fun and challenging more than they serve a tactical advantage to people for good OR for ill.

Same goes to Nation-Wide Constitutional carry. This is a great idea, and its working well in practice in the 4.5 states (if you count most of Montana where permits are not required for any form of carry) where permitless carry is the law of the land. Still I live in Massachusetts where I need a permit to BUY a gun, and Carry is may-issue. Illinois has no carry and a similar permit system, and there are still several may-issue (read “Won’t Issue”) states. Also with Constitutional Carry we dump the training requirements, which if you look at the data, you know isn’t necessary, but those who don’t get involved in the issue, it sounds like a REALLY good idea.

We need to remember the Slippery Slope goes both ways, and we need to utilize it to achieve our goals. Remember the Journey of 1,000 miles starts with a single step.

And of course a big step is carry your damn guns, and take people to the range!

His tiny corpse was found deep in an underground chamber by Ministry of Agriculture experts ahead of a planned badger-gassing programme near Tregaron, west Wales.
And expert CSI teams had to use fingertip technology to remove his body from the six-foot-deep burrow.
Sources close to the investigation said Percy was clothed but parts of his corpse had been “partially gnawed” by animals.
It is not yet clear how Percy died, though suicide has not been ruled out. Movie producer Dexter Yamunkeh said: “Percy was a little guy with big problems.

Please note that “Badger Death” is NOT “Gun Death”. I have no idea what the circumstances of the petite porn star’s death, but I will point out that defensive guns are not just for two-legged predators, but 4 legged ones too.

Of course in England if you’re attacked by a badger or some other predator you have no choice but to be devoured.

“Gun Death” Earthquake

Ok this is a VERY interesting spin on “Gun Death?”.

The trial of six Italian scientists and a former government official for manslaughter over the 2009 earthquake in L’Aquila has opened in the city.

The 6.3 magnitude quake devastated the city and killed 309 people.

Prosecutors allege the defendants gave a falsely reassuring statement before the quake after studying hundreds of tremors that had shaken the city.

Interesting that they’re charging people for deaths as a result of an Earth Quake.

Furthermore disasters like this, as well as disease, aren’t even considered for “Gun Death” when the antis pile on the body count to push their agenda.

Those lives have zero value to them.

Zero Intelegence

Still I think we’re pretty sure the kid had no idea that there were illegal mushrooms that did crazy things to people.

Still in a few years the DARE class will be teaching him how to roll a joint and cook his smack. Probably teaching him the basics of free-basing Coke too!

BTW if the teachers had just ignored it probably most people would pay the shirt, and the kid, little interest. I’m just sayin’.

So the wife and her two sisters and I all went to the Boston Museum of Fine Art, and we had a good time, and I don’t think we even covered half of it. Still while the posse was taking a party break I posed under some of the more questionable “Art”

Yeah an exclamation point made from “Rubberized Horse Hair” glued to the wall.

There was some other utter crap like this there too, but 99% of what we saw was the real-deal.

Still I think the shot came out funny! So it has that!

Quick Knife Review: Leatherman e305x

So a friend of mine was clearing out his knife collection of various things and gave me a bunch of knifes. One that surprised me was a Leatherman Pocket Knife, its not branded on the unit, but it appears to be the e305x which is a discontinued unit, but it appears to be similar to many Leatherman offerings.

So first I didn’t bother taking a picture of the knife on its edge, but its one of the thicker knives in my collection. By my measuremnts its just a hair over a half-inch at for the knife frame, and just under 3/4in wide including the removable pocket clip. Its not prohibitively wide, but it does bulk my pockets up a bit more than my other knifes….but if you do heavy-cutting, that extra handle width will really save your hand for extended cutting where a narrow handle will make your hand sore.

The handle is attractive and sturdy aluminum with nylon scales which are a tad slippery for my tastes, but its not like you can’t get a solid grip purchase on it.

The blade is 3″ with a combination edge. I prefer straight edges just because i hate sharpening serrations. (tho serrations tend to not need as much attention as a straight edge) Still there are times when having a serrated edge is good, and many prefer the combo edges.

Now I’ve carried this knife for about two weeks just about every day, used it for my standard uses. Opening boxes, opening mail, utility cutting, cutting hang-nails, etc. You can see the adhesive residue on the blade from opening boxes. I also just cut up a HUGE pile of cardboard for recycling yesterday, and I found the edge to be of good quality, and it retains its sharpness VERY well. I didn’t even feel the need to give the blade a few passes over a ceramic stone after all that cutting. That’s saying something.

So the blade has a standard thumb-stud that is reversable, but it also has the Letherman “Blade Launcher” which is essentially a flipper mounted at the top corner of the knife. Overall the Launcher is mechanically complicated so it doesn’t protrude when the blade is open or closed, and without a vigorous push it only contacts the blade through half of its travel. with a bit of a more vigorous push generally the blade won’t open to lock. I open this knife with the Launcher and add in a wrist flick to get a positive lock. This is very functional, but I wish the system was a little more positive on opening. The blade is secured with a liner lock that’s right on par with most of the liner/frame locks you’ll find.

Now who’s had a pocket knife and wish it had a carabiner? I certainly never had. Still it’s there, and if you have a belt or tool kit or vest you might want to clip this to the clip is there. It has a lock on it where the clip needs to be pressed inward before it can be folded. Leatherman lists this clip as also a bottle-opener, but the only way I can see it being used is as a pry-bar, which isn’t much better as using the notch in the frame to leaver off the cap.

This shot also gives a good look at the pocket clip which is nice, and I believe is 100% reversible for tip-up, tip-down, left or right hand. I tend to prefer tip-up carry because it equates in my mind with carrying a fixed-blade tip-down, but my knives run about 50/50 so frankly I’ve never felt the need to swap a clip.

But overall its a neat knife, not my favorite, but not a bad one, and since I have it in my hand right now to do this review its going into my pocket for the day.

Can’t beat a recommendation like that! 8)

“Gun Death” Insane Mom

They talk about permitting people before they can own or carry guns. They talk about screening for criminal backgrounds and mental illness, really anything to disqualify a person from exercising their rights. Still you never hear about screening and permitting people to have children.

A mother who was said to be obsessed with cleanliness has gone on trial for drowning her daughter because she would not take a bath.

Kimberly Fry is alleged to have strangled her eight-year-old daughter Camden with her bare hands after they rowed at bath time.

After killing her daughter, the 36-year-old tucked the lifeless body of the girl in bed where she was found the following morning by her husband Timothy.

Note this story comes from England where most weapons are banned or severely restricted. Still all it took to end a life was a pair of hands. The same two hands that would care and feed a child.

Of course killing a child over a bath, then tucking the child into bed for the hubby to find it seems to point to the fact that this mom is batshit insane. Shouldn’t we have “Common Sense” restrictions on having children?

Because we all want to live in the world that we foist upon gun owners!
