So again I was able to avoid the backscatter scanners. If I can go my whole life without the TSA grope that would be awesome. It was pretty easy to spot and avoid the machines, which of course also makes obvious that the whole TSA is just for show…and to steal your shit, sexually assault, and give people cancer.
Well its 10am and I’m having a pre-flight beer and burger.
TSA needs to be disbanded YESTERDAY, and those bastards should be ashamed of what they do!
Of course mass-slaying can only happen in America where guns are prevalent.

I would point out that if one of these people had had a gun maybe this rampage could have been stopped by an armed defender.
How’s that gun control working for you? If its to reduce deaths, it doesn’t work, if its to stop “Gun Death”, well I guess you can be happy. I see that as a hollow victory.

Shelley Rae has an interesting write-up of pistol carbines as home defense guns.
I must say its an option that is often chided by people who might chose a more effective or convenient gun. I like Pistols for HD just because they’re maneuverable and you can keep them hidden, like say answering the door to an unknown, but non-threatening caller, without any awkward explanation to the neighbor looking to borrow an egg on why you have a long-arm slung.
Some prefer shotguns for their amazing close-range stopping power. There’s a lot to be said about something that can deliver that much lead on target quickly.
others prefer carbines, often in 5.56x45mm for its ballistics, and certainly with the correct ammo less risk of overpenetration than you might think.
Still I must say pistol carbines have a certain thing going for them. Most of them eat from ample magazines, and many of the new ones on the market share magazines with common pistols (which is AWESOME if your pistol will eat from the same hopper as your carbine), they have extremely low recoil, and all the inherent accuracy of a long-gun. Certainly I wouldn’t recommend a shotgun to a recoil sensitive person, and I know people where even a 5.56×45 gives them a bit more boot than they prefer. Meanwhile a pistol carbine will kick less from a lighter package. Also an interesting side note, if you shoot sub-sonic ammo, they’re also quite quiet. You still really should wear ears on the firing line, but in the close confines of your home you’ll have that added benefit of shooting a suppressed pistol or carbine, which when you look at the reality of permanent hearing damage of say touching off a rifle or shotgun inside, that’s a monster plus.
The only thing you really lose is maneuverability of a handgun (tho technically you gain a bit of muzzle energy from that same pistol ammo, tho the end result is mostly academic) and the stopping power of a rifle or a shotgun. But if you say have a Sub-2000 eating from say a 33 round Glock 18 Magazine you can make up for this with quick follow-ups.
Certainly something to consider.
As an expansion of this story, a local radio host ran a search for “Obama” in a few local public records departments.
Its a rotten scan, but it turns out that one “Omar Obama” had a tax lien against him for Middlesex County. Now first it shows what we all know, illegal aliens don’t pay taxes or obey the law. Why would they? Still what I think is very interesting is that the man arrested for DUI’s legal name is listed as “Onyango Obama”, and it has been confirmed that this is the man listen in Obama’s books as “Uncle Omar”, but the Lien is for an “Omar Obama”. Now it could be a coincidence, given that “Omar” and “Obama” are not uncommon Muslim names, or it could simply be evidence of of Mr. Obama shedding an ID for a new one to avoid legal issues.
Certainly there was a wonderful “Progressive” program to help with just that here in Massachusetts.
President Obama’s uncle may have benefited from a policy that goes back to the days of former Massachusetts Democratic Governor Michael Dukakis, when illegal immigrants were assigned identification numbers that looked similar to social security numbers. Mike over at Every Day, No Days Off, has been collecting videos of “Hardcore” trainers that do foolish and dangerous things.
This one just amazed me, because not only is it stupid, but its allegedly Spetsnaz, not some backyard mall-ninja looking to relieve dumber Mall Ninjii of their SSI checks.
Mike notes the goofy flips (seriously, wouldn’t a wide lunge step be more controlled, faster, and offer just as small a profile for the enemy to engage?) and the turning of the back on the threat-line to reload.
I’ll also note those speedy reloads. These guys likely shoot the hell out of those AK-74s, and still mag changes take FOREVER! Factor in improper seating of the mag, and this is why I sold my AK and bought an FAL. I dunno about you, but I think I can get 60 rounds down range in well-aimed shots with my SKS feeding 10 round chargers than I can with my sold WASR-10 and two 30 pre-ban mags.
The one useful thing was their little “break dance” routine in the dirt. It actually looks like a neat way to quickly cover 360 degrees of thread while keeping your profile VERY low. Not something I’d ever see myself getting use out of, but maybe if I was trying to reclaim Georgia for the Soviet Empire I might see that differently. Still the inverted fire is a little “Top Gun” for my tastes, and I fail to see what it gains tactically.
Also note at 3:20, we see why military guns all have lanyard loops! When you’re carrying your pistol in a piece of shit holster and it falls out as you run around, you can grab that lanyard and flip it up into your hand to stuff it back into the shitty holster for its next roller-coaster ride.
Of course people who rely on pistols like beat cops or civilians who legally carry (the criminals stuff the gun in their baggy jeans or comparatively tighter sweatpants) simply make do with a well-fitted holster with maybe a mechanical retention device. Given that these guys have RIFLES I’d say a flap holster would keep the gun free of dirt, and firmly in the holster for the unlikely event your rifle dies.

One San Antonio man accused in the alleged machete death of his roommate has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and will testify against another defendant.
Of course this has nothing to do with the tool used, but the monster that wields it for murder.

I’m an odd duck, I LOVE field stripping guns. I like how things come apart and to look at how things go together, and the nature of Field stripping it means no tools, and no small parts.
Detail stripping generally requires tools and has lots of wonky small parts. This type of work gets my heart racing…most often when you drift out a pin or remove a part that holds another part in place, and parts fall out, like when you drift out the sear/disconnector pin from an M1911 and the sear and disconnector just tumble out of the frame. My gut clenches and I think “I WILL NEVER GET THOSE PARTS BACK IN THE RIGHT WAY AGAIN, I DIDN’T EVEN SEE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!111”
Well I noticed what looked like a little rust on the shell elevator of my Mossberg 590 and I decided it needed a good cleaning.
So I tore it down with just a few silly mistakes that held me back and cleaned it up very well. I need to do this a bit more often, some pieces got pitted and that’s a damn shame.
Now I’m a HUGE fan of the Gun Digest assembly/dissasembly guides, but in the case of the Mossberg 500 Entry they really didn’t do a great job at showing the dissasembly well enough to allow for re-assembly.
Thankfully this video is GREAT!
Getting the bolt/slide/operating rods together really tied me up for a bit. Makes sense when you get it all running together, but you don’t really see that interaction when you’re tearing the whole unit apart.
BTW on a side note, I’d like to replace the stock on my 590. The guide implies that I need some sort of special tool….I found another video that says I can do it with just a big allen wrench. What am I in for when I replace the stock?
Blah, the antis blogs have been VERY boring still I was just skimming Joan Peterson’s blog and I saw a trend. Seems she constantly attacks the source of a rebuttal information. “Oh you can’t cite Wikipedia!” “Oh, that guy works for X Right-wing thinktank/ or is an NRA member, you can’t cite them!” “Examiner Articles are biased!” Etc.
Seems Joan likes to avoid arguments because such-an-such a source is “Biased”, but oddly enough she has no problem getting 90% of her world view from the very Joyce Foundation sources that she works for.
Remember “Its only bad when YOU do it!” is the “Progressive” way!
