Whitey Captured

An interesting chapter in Boston crime and politics comes to an end. What’s most interesting in how it ended.

After all these years, how do the feds finally catch Whitey?

By running an ad on “The View.” Or “Rachael Ray.” Or some other silly daytime women’s TV show. Whitey, the president-for-life of the He Man Woman Haters’ Club, brought down by the likes of Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.

Of course while Whitey was dealing drugs, running rackets, and brutally murdering people, his Brother was a ranking official in Massachusetts Politics with NO knowledge of his Brother’s nefarious doings *wink wink*.

Like so many major US cities that have ties between their governing bodies and the local mob, Boston is no different.

I’m glad they got him. I’ll be interested to see who gets the $2million reward for Bulger, and the $100,000 for his long-time girlfriend.

“Gun Death” Bad News for Women

Does the woman in your life cook? Are there knives in your kitchen? Maybe you should rethink that!

Police have arrested a woman who witnesses said spent the night with a man who later was found stabbed to death in his bedroom.

You see knives in the hands of woman CAUSE death! A KNIFE killed this man! The fact that she was a drug using prostitute has NOTHING to do with this case. Not at all!

MFP

So I’m safe and sound in Maine, probably soon to be hitting the rack. Saw an oddity on the highway heading up. As I was driving in Southern Maine (Around Wells for those keeping score) I saw a black Mustang sideways in the opposite lane. As I passed I realized it wasn’t sideways but turning into the Law Enforcement turn-around gap.

Dad had been telling me that Maine Highway patrol had bought a bunch of Mustangs and were running them Unmarked in the speed traps.

Well not only did he pull into the turn-around, but he started heading my way at about 80. I slowed down and let him pass, and while he did I got a good look.

2011 Mustang GT 5.0L, all black with blacked out windows. Also the licence plate was the standard Chickadee civilian licence plate, and a fully uniformed highway patrol officer behind the wheel.

Really slick ride, and scary-camouflaged, He could have snuck up on me and speed-matched me without me even suspecting it was the Five-Oh in the 5.0.

Slick ride but: No back seat or security cage for apprehending criminals. No Push bars for a PIT maneuver, and while I’m sure that 412hp 302CI muscle car will do wonders running down perps in a high-speed chase, who does those things anymore when we have helicopters and spike strips?

Nope its all about speeding tickets which are about money-money-money. Sad really, because all I could think of was this:

Call it a V8 Interceptor, call it the Pursuit Special, certainly call it cool!

Smoking is Bad?

We talked about this before. Now the Surgeon General is going to unveil ugly and I’m sure expensive new warning labels for Cigarets.

I won’t go over what I’ve said before. I will say that NOBODY who’s ever smoked a cigarette ever thought they were doing something good for their bodies. Nobody said “Nah, I didn’t eat my broccoli with dinner last night, but I did smoke three Newports after dessert…the box is green, so its the same thing!”

I’ll just say in college I knew a guy who smoked these cigarettes, and he was quite pleased with them.

Again they’re adding lots of expense to the cost of making smokes (not to mention the massive taxes), and NOTHING will change.

Government is stupidity. End, FULL STOP.

Way to Go Wisconsin!

Wooo-Hooo!

Lawmakers in Wisconsin, one of the last states to prohibit the carrying of concealed weapons, approved lifting the ban Tuesday and sent Republican Gov. Scott Walker a measure he is expected to quickly sign into law.

Once Wisconsin’s measure takes effect this fall, Illinois will be the only state that bans carrying guns, knives and other concealed weapons.

I’m watching all the anti-gun heads pop around the internet. From the Article:

“Putting more guns on the streets, particularly in Milwaukee, is the worst thing we can do,” said Rep. Leon Young, D-Milwaukee, who pushed for barring guns at neighborhood festivals. His proposal was rejected.

Again see the top of the page. Its just you and Illinois left. EVERY OTHER state has some provision on Conceal Carry. Places like my state make it a royal bitch to get a permit, but with some determination, work, and sadly, willingness to move out of certain towns that hate freedom, you can get your LTC-A for carry.

Other places like New Jersey or Maryland, its damn near impossible. Still The vast majority of this country permits are “Shall Issue” and fairly straightforward to aquire. Some require special training and tests, others just want a check and do background checks, other states like Vermont, Alaska, Wyoming, Arizona, and most of Montana could care less what you do with your gun once you legally acquire it.

If you’re in Wisconsin and you’re nervous about conceal carry, you’re like the idiots in Massachusetts who are TERRIFIED of buying beer in the grocery store, or letting a construction worker direct traffic around the work zone (Mass we require a Police officer get paid time-and-a-half to direct traffic….and if you’re new to driving in Massachusetts, they don’t give a shit and WILL direct you into oncoming traffic or into heavy machinery, ignore them or you will die…they don’t care so long as the check clears).

Trust me, NOTHING bad will happen. You need to understand that you’re afraid because you’re ignorant. Remedy that!

And good on Wisconsin! I’ll note that Wisconsin isn’t terrible when it comes to guns, and they, like many other states, allow open carry without permits or permission. Still demanding open carry in Wisconsin in February when the CO2 in the air is condensing on the metal of the lamp posts is nothing more than the denial of the “…And Bear” part of the constitution. As well as places like Florida and Texas that require carried guns to be concealed in August when your tennis shoes are melting to the pavement is just foolish as well.

Go on Wisconsin, and let’s all the states (Especially my Anti-Rights Prison) push back the stupid laws more towards reason, and…you know…REAL common sense.

“Gun Death” Louisiana

They say Louisiana has some of the highest “Gun Death” in the nation

A Baker man convicted April 9 in the 2009 stabbing death of his wife, lawyer Chiquita Tate, in her downtown Baton Rouge office will not be sentenced Monday as originally scheduled, his lead attorney said Thursday.

But Louisiana has lax gun laws, why didn’t he shoot them? Also don’t we want to fixate on “Gun Death” because it makes domestic murder too easy? How did he manage to kill his wife without a gun?

Carry Your Damn Gun!

Go over to Jake’s and read the latest on the NY Pharmacy Massacre.

This was NOT a “Robbery Gone Bad”, this was a sick individual gone out to kill a bunch of people and then collect some drugs for dessert.

I’ve have some prescription medication for my Asthma, and when my allergies were much worse it was a big deal when that inhaler went dry. My wife used to (thankfully no longer) take anticonvulsants to control her epilepsy. There were a few times where things got cut a little close and I, like the departed in this case, was at the pharmacy counter while they were still opening up the shop. This easily could have been me. This could have been you.

Also there is nothing about this case that warrants killing anybody, he murdered them because he wanted to. So this isn’t about pharmacies, it isn’t about robbery. I suspect this case may have been a gang initiation, or maybe just another freak feeling like killing somebody.

While Gun-Free zones like New York and Boston are hot-beds for this kind of wanton criminal behavior, we all remember what happened in Tuscon. We don’t need to live in fear, but we DO need to be aware that the world is NOT a safe place.

Carry your gun, you never know when you might need it.

Homophobe-in-Chief

People hated George W. Bush and his policies so much that they painted him Brown and re-elected him for a third term.

More data here, here, and here

When does this shit end? Sadly not in 2012 from where I’m standing…I hope I’m wrong, but I won’t bet my lunch money on it.
