“Gun Death” Bus

Guns aren’t like cars because guns are different. Guns are different because guns are different. So goes the mantra of the anti-rights cult.

A luxury tour bus crash on the New Jersey Turnpike killed two people, including the driver, on one of that nation’s most heavily trafficked highways, MyFoxNY.com reported Monday night.

A rarity?

On Saturday, a tour bus crashed on the New York State Thruway’s New England section in the Bronx, killing 15 people.

If this had been a gun it would have been a national news story all week, instead its a footnote. Guns are different that cars…guns are safer!

Seriously Dwight I was late to the Firefly game as well…I actually watched Serenity first (Which BTW I Don’t regret…I don’t know if I’d recommend it, but I think it IS an easier way to get a solid feel of the series). You’re missing out.

Oh and BTW my wife is also a huge Firefly fan, she’s also a huge Buffy fan…but not the Buffy I’m a Fan of, I thought the Buffy series and its spin-offs totally sucked ass.

Money Making Idea

So I’ve been thinking about this idea, it occurred to me while watching…eh, grown-up movies, one evening. It also seems to appeal to the wookie suiter in me. BTW this is just an idea, and I have no intentions of going through with it as #1. I don’t have the capital, #2. I really don’t want to be a business owner, and #3. My wife likely won’t let me.

So you buy a piece of commercial property (sole ownership is better than renting), fill the location with lounges and bedrooms. Hire on women as subcontractors who are openly willing to engage in sex as a business.

Now what you will have is something VERY close to a brothel, and certainly should be outfitted with everything legal brothels in the US and Europe have, such as security, cleaning staff, and doctors and nurses.

But Brothel’s are illegal (which I will add is total bullshit, as you can buy a woman gifts and get sex, or get married for money, and of course its free for a woman to have sex with anybody she wants…its just illegal to negotiate the terms and…well let’s get to that)

Advertise your services, only instead of the traditional brothel fare, once the John selects the girl he’d like to work with, and they negotiate the transactions and prices, the set director does a lighting and set check, and the camera man begins to film. Once scene is completed the raw footage is burnt to disk or other electronic media, and the John buys the film rights from the house. The price the film rights are sold for will go towards paying the other workers and the house.

You see he is NOT engaging in sex in a house of prostitution, he is producing and staring in a pornographic film. Your business is NOT a brothel, but a film production studio that does work for non-agency producer/actors.

I see the end result as no different than a cross-over between modern pornography, and amateur videos like “Girls Gone Wild”. The only difference is that the house isn’t interested in producing or distributing the film. If the John would like to sell or distribute the film footage through legal, or private channels that’s his business, the same if he decides it was not a profitable venture and he chooses to destroy the film, or keep it for his own private use. Its his movie, he financed it.

Of course if certain people would want to use this as a means to have sex with professionals for the exchange of cash, I don’t know how anybody would be aware of it.

So could this legally work?

Postscript: I’ve been doing some Google searching and I’m not finding anything definitive about how to legally film pornography at any given location.

“May Issue”=”No Issue”

Thirdpower has a story of an Illinois gun owner being refused fingerprinting to get an Arizona Carry Permit.

This is the real face of “May Issue” carry laws. They are flawed at the core. When I moved to Mass to Medford I was refused a non-restricted permit (read Carry permit, for those in free states) because “The Chief doesn’t issue those”. I never met with the Chief while I lived there, and no information was requested of me outside my fingerprints, and my Mass LTC application form. This is not unique to me, as at the time NOBODY had been issued a permit without a restriction (Most commonly “Target and Hunting Only”, or “Employment Purposes Only” if they could get a note from their employer). From what I gathered, Belmont Mass was the same way, but they WOULD issue unrestricted permits possibly on re-issue. No word if issuing a Belmont permit after my Medford permit expired would count as first-issue or re-issue. There are towns that do both.

My current town also didn’t seem to care much about who I was, as they don’t bother issuing restricted permits. My town is essentially “Shall Issue”.

So really “May Issue” means “No issue” unless it means “Shall Issue”. The anti-rights cultists often talk about character references, or Chiefs using their judgment on individual cases. Really that’s impossible in all but the smallest of towns. How can the Chief get to know in any meaningful way all applicants that submit paperwork? Also let’s for a second take a hypothetical situation. Mr. Sam Smith of Town X applies for a permit. Mr. Smith has no criminal record that would disqualify him from owning a gun, but the Chief judges him unfit for a permit. Tell me how the police could defend that in a court challenge?

“May Issue” is just a backhanded way to issue blanket denials of permits for all residents of a town or state. If you DO get a permit in a “May Issue” state or town its simply because the powers that be there simply treat the law as “Shall Issue”.

Can anybody give me an argument why “May Issue” shouldn’t be an illegal practice?

“Gun Death” Shove

Some people can die with something as simple as a shove.

A veteran Brooklyn cop was killed this morning when he was shoved off a porch and landed on his head — breaking his neck — while trying to handcuff a career thug with a history of domestic violence.

I also put the “Bad Justice” tag on this one.

Villanueva was arrested Feb. 4 on a domestic violence charge involving the same woman, and 84th precinct cops have responded to 12 times domestic violence calls involving the couple.

Villanueva’s 28 priors are mostly for robbery and burglary.

I’m sorry, WHY was a cop pushed off a balcony arresting this asshole? Why wasn’t he in prison?

The anti-rights people think we need to ban guns (and this is why we focus only on the “Gun Death” metric) because without guns people won’t commit violent crime.

In reality violent crime is committed by criminals, and the tools really aren’t relevant, and murder is rarely their first crime, generally they show they have no respect for society, the safety of their fellow man, or laws quite clearly….as did this asshole.

Of course Michael Bloomberg felt this dead officer would be better protected by trans-fat bans, public smoking bans, salt bans, and making it next to impossible for people to own or carry handguns in the city, rather than locking up violent criminals who are a danger to all who are around them.

Good work with that. Have a look at your hands Mayor Bloomberg…that red stuff is called “Blood”.

Good Racism/Bad Racism

This is one bit of American culture that disgusts me. We overall state that racism is a bad thing, and to be called a “Racist” is a massive insult…but at the same time there is so much blatant racism that is 100% acceptable. David Duke Is political Kryptonite because of his Involvement in the Klu Klux Klan (and rightly so) but Barack Obama got elected President dispite being an active member in Trinity United Church of Christ. Michael Richards has vanished from the public eye because he got caught on film calling a bunch of hecklers N*ggers, but Jesse Jackson is constantly on TV dispite his hateful remarks about jews. And this isn’t a left or right thing….just as Juan Williams!

Now there’s this:

First up this is 100% bullshit. Spelling Bees are about as cheap as they come to train for. This isn’t Equestrian, where one needs a horse, or swimming or diving where one needs access to a pool, or Skeet where one needs a shotgun and access to a skeet range, or Golf where one needs clubs and a course. All of those things can be prohibitively expensive and may not be available to large sections of the population. Spelling all you need it a dictionary, a public library, an aptitude for spelling, and hard work!

Also set aside the fact that the proponent of this on the interview sounds so stupid I question if she can read or write.

But this IS segregation, and this telling Black kids that they are DIFFERENT from other races.

This is racism…and guess who isn’t getting called on it. It frankly makes me sad.

Why We Win

So I was looking around the usual suspect for responses to the President’s insipid non-statements on gun control, seems that most of them are staying away from it…tho I did find this video where Paul Helmke manages to complete several full-sentences without swallowing his tongue and choking to death. Good Job Paul!

But I found myself cruising the Huff-Po and I was VERY suprised to find this story.

I really don’t want to like guns. I was raised in a pacifist household — we protested the Vietnam War and worshiped Ghandi.

I can actually empathize with this. I actually felt a bit guilty the first time I went shooting that I liked it as much as I did, and that suddenly I had what would prove to be an insatiable desire for a 1911 .45.

And then there are my neighbors, who are wealthy and conservative. Several take a doomsday, riots-in-the-streets approach to the future. They are interested in stockpiling gold, having a secure food source, and making sure they have plenty of guns….I went with that same neighbor and a friend to a home in suburban Boston, where an old man led us into the basement of his townhouse, closed the door and produced the largest array of handguns I have ever seen in my life. For a full day, he taught us everything we need to know about handling, cleaning, shooting and buying every conceivable type of gun. Then he gave us the test that would allow us to carry a concealed weapon. I passed with flying colors.

I will say that Massachusetts gun laws BREED gun-nuts. In Maine and Texas, and Florida and other states that are not hostile to gun owners you get what I would call “Fair Weather Gun Owners”. The guy that has an old Pump shotgun in his closet, the guy with a S&W Model 10 in his sock drawer. The guy who has his Dad or Grandfather’s deer rifle that he’s never fired, the guy who has a Hi-Point or Glock they bought with some of their money from a summer job and still wonder what the hell they were thinking. Honestly I have nothing against these gun owners…but also given that they are virtually comatose in the battle for gun rights, I also don’t hold them up for much. They really don’t care about their guns or their gun rights, and wouldn’t put up too much of a complaint if their guns were to be confiscated, as its just “Stuff”, the gun in the sock drawer is no different than the box of old comic books in the closet, or Polyester Leisure Suit on the hanger. They own it, but it really doesn’t have any real value to them.

Here in Massachusetts we need a permit to OWN guns. It doesn’t matter if its my Crap-tastic Jennings, or my collection of Mosin Nagants (with the Exception of the 1896 Tula which is technically not a gun under the law), or my 1911s, or my FAL with its collection of pre-ban-magazines, one or all of those guns require me to take the above mentioned safety course, and pay $100 every five years. Sorry, if I just had my Mosin Nagant M44 mix-master (Probably my favorite Mosin Nagant for Range use, but the least valuable in my collection) paying $100 every 5 years to keep an $80 rifle is flat-out retarded, really your only logical choices are #1 Get rid of the gun (which is the reason lawmakers passed these stupid laws in the first place) or #2. Buy shitloads of guns so you get your damn nickle’s worth. I chose option #2, because the people who want me to not own guns are total jerks and fools, AND for this reason.

The truth is that holding a handgun, I felt good. Damn good. I don’t like to admit it. But that’s the truth. And that’s how I ended up on the nationwide NRA talk show talking about manhood and guns.

Yep, guns are fun….LOTS OF FUN. I love owning guns…as a matter of fact in typing the above paragraph I felt the urge to take a break and pull my Tula M1891 out of the vault just because I hadn’t looked at it in a while…and to get that Tula out of the Vault I had to pull out the Izhevsk hex-reciver 91/30. I didn’t even shoot them and I was having fun just manipulating them and looking at them. I’ve actually surprised people at how much they enjoyed looking at old guns showing off my Mosin collection. Like the time I had my wife hold my pair of Izhevsk 91/30s, made 10 years apart, one hex one round, and showing how polished the Hex is, and how rough and hurried the Round is because of the rush to arm up for WWII. You can actually FEEL history, and that’s a powerful feeling.

Leaning to shoot guns makes you more of an ADULT, as you are learning to master a potentially dangerous skill that could save your life. Guns are a tool to self-sufficiency, which I find synonymous with Adulthood, and the reason why I call those who suckle at the tit of the nanny-state “Perpetual Children”)

“Bad Justice” a Solution

I talk a lot on this blog about “Bad Justice”, where essentially the legal system betrays public safety and lets known violent predators out on the streets where they almost always commit further crimes (its their damn nature!), the ones that get the most press are when they escalate their crimes. A stalker becomes a rapist, a violent offender becomes a murderer, a single-murderer commits multiple murder. Sean has been making quite the crusade to bring attention to the fact that most people who commit murder have already committed many violent crimes before. Essentially repeat offenders are telling the world they should not be trusted with freedom, and there are people so stupid not to listen and turn them lose on the rest of us. There is a bill here in Massachusetts that would correct this.

If Melissa’s Bill had been law, supporters say Dominic Cinelli, a career criminal serving three life sentences, would not have been eligible for parole and would not have been on the streets to plan and execute a hold-up at the Kohl’s jewelry counter on Dec. 26 of last year.

It is essentially a gentler version of the “Three-strikes-and-you’re-out”, on your third felony no parole, no good behavior, you serve your time. If your third crime is 5 years you do 5 years, if your third crime is life, you’re done. Its a pretty fair law if you ask me. Frankly if somebody can’t get it right on the third time they never will and will only get worse the longer they walk the streets.

I urge all in Massachusetts to contact their legislators and urge them to support this bill. More information can be found here.
