State of the Blog

So with my Nethack bug sated I think we can start getting back to more regular blogging.

First up I have a nice anti-rights post brewing but I need a few hours to research it.

I have a nice light Nethack post to test the waters to see who might be interested in reading a post maybe a few times a month on what is the greatest computer game ever made.

Also for the freaks and g33ks, there will be a vicious circle tonight.

So stay tuned for more of your regular Weer’d World.

A note from Management

Seem to be undergoing a pretty nasty spam attack over the last few days. Because of this high volume of spam, it increased the chances of legitimate posts getting permanently deleted. On normal days if your post doesn’t show up, and you know you’re not a known troll, just wait a few hours for me to check the logs and your post will appear…today I’d prefer you to re-post (maybe without html code if you know that was there) or send me an email at weerdbeard (AT) gmail (com) to let me know the spam trap ate something good.

Usually these things don’t last very long, so hopefully it will all clear out by the weekend.

“Gun Deaths” Cars

Can’t compare guns with cars. Never, because guns are different. Guns are different because guns are different! Can’t compare them with cars.

Brent Peace, 39, is facing a total of five charges. The charges are murder, aggravated vehicular homicide, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and failure to stop after an accident.

You can’t ban cars because leftists HAVE cars! They only hate the rights they DON’T use!

Yet Another Ascention Post

Well this is Ascention #3…in 9 years of playing Nethack. I had a 5 year dry spell, which is really sad given my first two were only 6 months apart.

This game I also got a sick number of wishes from the get-go, and found several very useful bones piles. This was hands down the easiest ascention to date, but not the best played, tho this DOES have the highest score to date by almost a million points. OK here’s the dumplog for all who care

I Teared up a bit

Wow, AMAZING video, and that old sniper still has it! I must say I’ve dabbled very little in long-distance rifle work, it is VASTLY more difficult than the chairborne rangers might think.

I stick to Iron sights m’self.

**UPDATE** Go Read Sean’s story of his encounter with an old vet. Man good day for war stories!

“Gun Death” Junkie

Having an infant requires a lot of devotion and selflessness. Of course when you add somebody who is both selfish and stupid, the end-result can be devastating.

More than eight months after claiming that her 3-month-old baby mysteriously died overnight, a West Virginia mother now stands accused of drunkenly falling on the child and smothering her to death….”She got wasted, she got drunk, she got high, and she fell asleep and rolled over on the child,” Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Plant said Friday night on HLN’s “Nancy Grace,” summarizing authorities’ belief of how the baby died.

Hey, but nobody was shot, so let’s not get all riled up. I mean it wasn’t a “Gun Death” so it doesn’t count, right?

That’s a VERY good feeling!

Blah

Wasn’t a long day at work, but I was running around for most of it. On top of that my lunch didn’t sit well with me.

Gonna play Nethack now, Free Beer tomorrow! 😉

BTW killed all the demon lords/princes save Asmodeus (who’s a chump) and Orcus. Also I hope somebody summons Yeenoghu because that bitch needs killing….and I hope nobody summons Demogorgon because I’ve never actually gone toe-to-toe with him, and really wouldn’t like this run to be the one.

Quickshots

Just thought I’d throw out some quick news stories for ya’ll to chew on.

I got a chuckle out of this one.

A defiant Colonel Moammar Gaddafi has refused to step down as Libya’s leader, declaring on state TV: “I will die here as a martyr.”

I’m sure we could find a few guys willing to help you with that, Moammar. Also does anybody know why he’s a Colonel? Seems that most nutty dictators choose titles that are either the highest, like General or President, is he saying that there are no generals in the Libyan army? Or are there non-dictator-for-lifers out there who outrank him?

Hotair has this story

Hmm a “Green Energy” plant propped up by Government money shits the bed anyway. Where have I heard that before?

Aided by at least $43 million in assistance from the government of Massachusetts and an innovative solar energy technology, Evergreen Solar emerged in the last three years as the third-largest maker of solar panels in the United States. But now the company is closing its main American factory, laying off the 800 workers by the end of March and shifting production to a joint venture with a Chinese company in central China. Evergreen cited the much higher government support available in China.

I guess we got SOME of the money back, but that tends to make me feel as good as when somebody steals your debit card and racks up $100,000 worth of crap…but you only are on the hook for $10,000 of it! 😀

Another from Hotair, probably one of the best videos of the hack doctors supporting the teachers breaking the law.

Of course the teachers who attended the protests on state school days should be terminated, tenure or no. The Doctors should be treated no different that the doctors who write opiate prescriptions knowingly to junkies and dealers. I would hope that would revoke their license to practice medicine.

But how about that ranting teacher? “I could snap at any moment!” Look at BEST she’s a total moonbat drama-queen, but at worst SHE’S TELLING THE TRUTH…either way do you want this freak hanging out around your children every day?

That’s what I got!
