“Gun Death” Shovel

We need to be mindful about the accessibility of deadly assault weapons in America!

A father is speaking out after a 17-year-old killer was sentenced to 23 years in prison for beating the man’s teenage son to death with a shovel…According to the criminal complaint, James Grant was beaten with a shovel as part of a gang initiation by two other teens.

And you know this little angel will be out LONG before those 23 years. This one gets the “Bad Justice” tag as well. I’d put my lunch money on that this guy will be walking the streets in his 30s. Now here’s the question for those of you with REAL common sense. Who would you rather share a bus seat with: #1. A Law Abiding citizen carrying a handgun with “High Capacity Clips” or #2. This creep with a 2″ Swiss army knife in his pocket?

“Gun Death” Infant

Babies are fragile and need our care, which makes it even worse when they are murdered.

Early Monday, Polton hoped for the best when police and emergency responders were called about 12:50 a.m. to a neighboring home on a report that an infant was not breathing. When she learned that the child, 4-month-old Aiden Hoyer, had died and a 25-year-old man had been arrested…
The child suffered from “visible signs of trauma,” police said. Autopsy results are pending.

Somebody want to tell me how a baby beaten to death is somehow better than a baby shot to death? Why do those who hate freedom so focused on “Gun Death”?

Pickled Eggs

I posted this a while back on my Livejournal, but since it sucks, and there are more readers here I thought I’d share a recipe I really love to make. PICKED EGGS!

Enjoy with a fine Beer!

Seems this fine delicacy is popular in pockets around the country, some are more of a simple sugar, salt, and vinegar brine, my version is a bit more substantial.
Weer’ds Grammie’s Pickled Eggs
Brine:
2 Cups vinegar
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pickling spice
1 medium onion, chopped.

Bring brine to a boil, then let simmer for 8 minutes

Pour brine over 12 hardboiled eggs in a mason jar. I like to half-fill the jar with eggs, then add some of the onions, then put the rest of the eggs in and top off the jar with brine.

Once the eggs and brine cool, store them in the fridge. As a rule, I don’t eat them for at LEAST a week, but the Mrs. who is a pickled egg FIEND has cracked into a jar at 4 days and they were pretty darn good even then.

As the brine is essentially a preservative if kept in the fridge the eggs will be good for at least six months….they shouldn’t last that long, and as I said, they’re awesome with beer!

Also the wife invented a great use for the eggs in making egg salad out of them, and be sure to include some of the pickled onions into the mash.

They seem a bit creepy, but you might be surprised at how enjoyable they are!

You Keep Using That Word…

Read this comment by Baldr, and it really got my head spinning.

There’s a name for what you pro-gunners are doing: it’s called “astroturfing”…What is supposedly a “flash mob” of grass-roots support from honest citizens is in actuality a swamping of supposed opinion polls by an organized faction. This is not democracy in action, or a representation of society at large. It is unethical (though not illegal) manipulation and sabotage of the democratic process. This little poll is simply a demonstration of this behavior which, when magnified to a larger and more serious polling process can irresponsibly sway public policy.

First up the Irony becomes thick enough to cut with a hatchet when you note this is said by a person who is blogging for “Cease Fire Oregon” which of course is simply a branch of the Joyce Foundation. More irony still, I found Mr. Odinson when he started commenting on Joan Peterson’s blog. Joan of course is both a Board member for the Brady Campaign, as well as a leader of a Million Mom March Chapter (an offshoot of the Brady Campaign), as well as a spokeswoman for a different Joyce Foundation branch. Two people, working for the same cause, and at the same time working directly for groups that are the only voices for gun control, and who are funded by a handful of rich individuals, and in the case of Joan Peterson (and possibly Baldr, but that doesn’t appear to be his real name) she is the lead on MULTIPLE groups, making her voice sound like many. Also Baldr himself tried to deny his ties to Joyce here, this is all discussed here. Of course both organizations have no enrolled members, only hand-picked volunteers and staffers.

What’s interesting is clicking through some links I found this page, essentially claiming the tea-party to be an “Astroturf group”. Linoge discusses the definition of “Astroturf” vs. “Grassroots” overe here to great length.

I’ll just say its pretty funny to find a guy who’s working for a small organization, that’s completely funded by a large national group that’s funded by a handful of wealthy individuals, is claiming that the reason why his little poll swung 12 to 1,000 is because his side is “Grassroots” and the other side is “Astroturf”.

You keep using that word, I don’t think it means what you think it does…

“Gun Death” Chill Chest

I Thought this story had been done before here….but its a different story.

A California teenager is being held without bail for doing the unthinkable.

Investigators say 19-year-old Moises Meraz-Espinoza killed his mother and put her body in a freezer.

Sounds like he choked her to death, then chopped her up. Seems a lot of people are upset by this. Why? Its not a gun death!

TEN

In Japanese the word “TEN” means “Heaven” or “Sky”

Its the number of fingers we have, and the Roman Numeral X.

Its also the arbitrary number of shells that a government-limited magazine may hold.

Its also the number of anti-gun votes Linoge’s Poll has received.

Now is this limitation some legitimate destructive line in the sand, or is it an arbitrary number likely chosen out of bias towards the number of fingers we have (we call them digits for a reason)….or is it raw self-preservation?

I mean if there are TEN anti-gun supporters, and they have an international convention in an Oyster Shack, or an Arby’s, or maybe those handful of tables at the front of a wholefoods, a “Pro Gun Cultist” decides to wipe the world clean of anti-rights jerks, and they ONLY bring one magazine, they will only succeed if they get a perfect score!

…maybe 😉

“Gun Death” Buttocks Enhancement

A little light-hearted, but too good to pass up.

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman at a Philadelphia hotel 12 hours after receiving silicone injections in her buttocks.

“Medics responded to the Hampton Inn here that a female was experiencing troubled breathing, some chest pains,” said Philadelphia Police Lt. John Walker. “She was transferred over to Fitzgerald Murphy Hospital where she expired.”

The victim and one of her friends received the buttocks injections from two females who they saw perform the procedure online. It is still unclear if the women who did the procedure are licensed or unlicensed.

I demand a background check before EVERY medical procedure! Its only Common Sense!
