SEND AIR SUPPORT!

So we Know Linoge has mirrored the poll put up by a Joyce Puppet. Baldr managed to get TWELVE votes supporting gun control, and took the poll down and complained of us being mean for telling people about the poll.

Well I found out that the Joyce Foundation’s sister organization, the Brady Campaign, is attempting to call in an air strike.

Gun cultists has posted a poll about gun control in response to the great work of Baldr Odinson (Ceasefire Oregon). He’s daring us to see if we can mobilize a grassroots effort to vote in this issue. Show them what we can do!!

That was posted late on February 11th. Its now 1920 Eastern Standard time on the 11th and Linoge has NINE votes supporting gun control. Only about 300 votes supporting gun rights, so go over and vote! (The Poll is now in the left margin)

But yeah, almost 24 hours and NINE votes, that’s some boots on the ground they have!

Here’s an exclusive view of the Brady Campaign Air Force that is currently running sorties against “Cultist Blog” Walls of the City.

Shit I Don’t Get

OK We’ve all seen lettuce in a bag. Yeah don’t get it. And this is coming from the guy who HATES washing his salad spinner to dry the lettuce. Sorry, it isn’t worth the few bucks to buy my lettuce already busted up, tho I can see if the price is close people making that choice.

This is beyond the pale.

OK how fucking hard is it to chop and wash veggies? Also I must say that with all the oil and salt that’s likely in this embalmed food, you’re losing the majority of nutritional value of salad, and losing ALL of that fresh salad taste!

GROSS!!!

The Excuse Has DIED!

We all know, I used to blog on Livejournal, and I’m technically still on LJ as a syndication feed. But the ONLY excuse for remaining on LJ was “Well Oleg Does it!”

Not no more!

Enjoy the new digs, Oleg! I sure do!

“Gun Death” COCK!

OK this is just too good.

A Lamont man was killed earlier this week by a chicken.

Jose Luis Ochoa, 35, was stabbed by a knife attached to the leg of a fighting rooster, the Kern County coroner’s office said Friday.

I could add something witty, but how the hell can I top that? WOW!

Thanks to Cueball for sending me this macabre gem!

Quote of the Day: Chris from AK

Chris friggin’ rules! This quote cracks me up!

First, you have got to be the only blogger I know that is upset at getting over a thousand hits per day.

Backstory here at Bob’s

Short Summary, Joyce foundation shill puts up a poll on gun rights. Poll gets noted by several well-known bloggers (I heard about it at Joe’s , while I read Joan’s page regularly, Baldr is just all together too boring to bother with) and a bunch of new people show up to put in their 2c. Since there is virtually no support for gun control, Baldr gets 11 votes (including his own, and however many people voted multiple times) in favor of gun control, and close to 1,000 votes against gun control.

He gets all butthurt and calls gun rights advocates “bullies” and takes down the poll.

I’ve been averaging about 260 hits every day from regular readers, I’ll probably get close to 500 today because I was linked by Say Uncle on one of my recent essays. I’ve gotten a few days where I topped 1,000 hits and it was AWESOME.

Baldr is upset by this spike because gun control advocates are anti-social loners, with such irrational and illogical views of the world that it makes interpersonal relationships with them very difficult. They support things like Global Warming, and Gun control that are so easily disproved that they look like fools. More here. There are very few people who can face that and continue on. They get upset by instances like this because it exposes how strong the pro-gun support is, and the sheer numbers of people who support the cause are, and contrasts how alone and dead wrong they are.

So more self loathing of the people insane enough to support gun control. I used to support gun control, until I was confronted with the facts. I had two choices, admit I was wrong and switch sides, or continue to support what I knew was was bullshit.

Baldr, why do you choose to look like a fool?

Careful, Hon!

Joan Peterson is squawking like she’s being bold. Looks to me like she’s just exposing her belly.

The NRA has had their run. Now it’s time to challenge them about their incorrect numbers and their faulty logic. Common sense and public safety demand the truth.

Note she doesn’t challenge “incorrect numbers” (that just happen to be correct) with “CORRECT numbers”, and if the NRA has had its run, while are the organizations that Joan works for faltering, and the NRA growing?

Common sense and public safety do indeed demand the truth. This is why we should expose liars and blood dancers for who they are.

Quote of the Day: Forever Browning

From Everydaynodaysoff

War, war never changes…because someone’s always gonna get shot with a maduce in one, and it’ll piss someone off.

People can prattle all they want about if the M1911 is the best damn pistol in the universe or not, and weather it was a good idea to replace it with the Beretta M9 (I carry a M1911 pattern, and I think the M9 kinda sucks personally) or if we ever should have gone down that 5.56x45mm Nato load, and if the M16 is a plastic toy, etc etc etc.

Guess what? EVERYBODY loves the M2 Heavy Machine gun, EVERYBODY, Fucking gun has been in service for almost 80 years, and I don’t know if they’re ever going to change it. Certainly the cartridge it eats (a Scaled up version of God’s Own Caliber) isn’t going ANYWHERE.

Some say the M1911 is Browning’s crowning achievement, other the Winchester 1894. Some will go more geeky and say something like the Pistol Slide with integral breechface.

But when you get down to it, who’s gonna Argue with the Browning M2?

Just make sure you put it together right!

“Gun Death” Fists and Soccer

Sometimes the “Gun Death?” stories don’t take anything more exotic than Fists.

It was a simple act of chivalry that allegedly brought a husband’s rage upon Christopher Matthews, a 33-year-old coach who died Monday after being removed from life support..

Matthews, the girls soccer coach at Stratford High School, had just finished a meal with colleagues and parents Friday in celebration of a recent victory.

One of the parents expressed concern that she was receiving threatening text messages from her husband, friends said. Matthews decided to escort the woman to her car, in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 14030 block of Memorial Drive in Houston.

As Matthews, whose wife was also at the restaurant, accompanied the woman at about 11 p.m., the husband was waiting for her, friends said. The alleged attacker, Ronald Lee Newman, 51, punched Matthews, who fell to the ground and lost consciousness, police said.

Matthews was treated in the intensive care unit at Ben Taub General Hospital, and friends gathered Sunday to pray that the swelling in his brain would subside. But the beating had taken its toll.

A sad tale, but given that the weapon used was not a gun, the anti-rights advocates can’t dance in the blood. Hell because the weapon used was something we all have, including those who hate freedom, its a total bust for blood dancing!

Quote of the Day: Happy Pants

I guess a good quote has a million fathers (and Mothers) I heard it from Bluesun , who heard it from Nancy who may have heard it from AD on picking a first handgun.

“Buy what makes you happy in your pants.”

of course Silliness aside its a wonderful point. Some people in this post , not to mention the posts I referenced, assumed somehow the content was bashing the 1911 platform, yet all the authors are professed lovers of 1911, and Tam and myself have chosen 1911s as our daily carry guns, and I know Caleb carries a few among his rotation of carry guns, and competes with 1911s.

Also I’ve logged so much time with 1911 pattern guns I’m forever hooked, even when a new gun that runs as well or better than a 1911 comes along I’ll still be eying the 1911. Also before the Chevy Bailout, I made a comment about the Ford vs. Chevy revelry. If one was actually better than the other there wouldn’t be two. Of course one is still doing well as an auto company while the other is faltering might be good evidence of a superiority, but we can certainly say they both beat the pants off AMC. The 1911 isn’t going anywhere, people are still making them, and more companies are getting into the market, and very few are dropping out. Compare that with the above stated Luger P08and Wather P38. There is no modern Luger available except maybe some obscure collector replica house, and the closest thing to the Walther is the Beretta 92 pattern, which even Beretta doesn’t seem to excited with anymore, and was abandoned by Walther ages ago.

But what’s the biggest plus for the 1911? People just like them. Would I spend lots of money on guns, holsters, and ammo to shoot a gun I didn’t like? Would I trust my life with a gun I didn’t like? Would I do hours of dry fire and sight acquisition on a gun I didn’t like?

That’s the big trick, find a gun you like, and get that one. Maybe you’ll find a gun you’ll like forever, or maybe it’ll be a gun you’ll get sick of. I know lots of people who did both, but for the people who learned their first gun was a lousy one, if it was a gun they liked at the time, they learned from experience and from range work.

That is nothing but good!

Buy a gun you like, and have fun with it! If you’re having fun, what’s the harm?
