OK I’m Kinda Going Wookie

Another good Libertarian video.

I would like to hope that with the heavy tea-party wins in this election the potential for a Libertarian infection of the Republican party is real, but I’m not going to bet my lunch money on it.

Great Video

My Take-away is that totalitarians keep trying to make the world “perfect”, and most often after a few minor tweaks fail death camps and political executions come next. Those in favor of human rights and against government intrusion understand that perfection is just a dream, but freedom lets each individual make their best crack at it on their own, rather than being imprisoned in the dreams of others.

Only one side is the side of grown-ups, and the other is the side of perpetual children.

“Gun Death?” Bare Hands

Again why fixate on weapons when violent people simply don’t need them

According to police, around 2 a.m. on October 16 two suspects assaulted two men in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot. One of those men, Richard Huffines, 24, was air-lifted with a serious head injury to a Las Vegas Hospital where he later died.

A stronger man can beat a weaker man to death with nothing more than his hands and feet. A weaker man can fend off a stronger man if he is armed. Remember that!

Vocabulary Word

Been watching Jericho with the wife. She watched it a good while back, and recently we bought the complete series for a song on Amazon, and we’ve been watching it together.

I’ve invented a vocabulary word.

“Got a Movie-Deal”: V: When a Main Character dies in a TV series…often to show up in a major studio film shortly afterward.

ex: “Oh NO! Looks like Jim got a movie deal! Tho Coroner says he needs to use dental records to ID the body!”

Morning Read

Sean put in some hard work looking at the FBI crime reports to debunk Joan Peterson’s constant raving that somehow “Gun Death” has some high incidence in domestic disputes. Many of us have come to the same conclusion before, but Sean takes a nice fresh look and brings along some Graphics. Go over and have a read.

Oh, FYI, I don’t think Joan has responded to Sean’s post, but years ago MikeB302000 went so far as to say that BOTH the FBI and the CDC were working for the NRA to produce numbers that disproved Joyce/Brady Campaign Dogma.

“Gun Death” Respect

I’m always mystified when “respect” is given as grounds for Murder

An Allentown teen charged with stabbing his neighbor to death last month told a city detective he felt disrespected and threatened by the neighbor, who was upset with the teens who live in the area.

Why focus on the tool when such a sick culture is allowed to live on?

Drug Dealers and Knives

I thought you needed a gun to commit murder

Authorities in Madison County have arrested a man suspected of stabbing another man and then throwing his body off a bridge during a drug deal.

You think maybe the criminal element might be more of a problem than the tools used? I sure do!

Then and Now

Back in November 2008 Keith Olbermann was so so politically pure he wouldn’t even vote. It was a gesture to show he was on the level. *snicker*

Now…well:

Keith Olbermann, the top anchor on MSNBC, was suspended on Friday after the channel discovered that he made campaign contributions to three Democrats last month.

The MSNBC president, Phil Griffin, issued a statement saying: “I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay.”

Politico had reported Friday morning that Mr. Olbermann’s contributions were in apparent violation of MSNBC policy.

Heh, turns out Olbermann isn’t honest…he’s just an asshole. And speaking of assholes, seriously how stupid and disingenuous is MSNBC for expecting to stay out of Political races? It would be HONEST for them to have policy about donating to REPUBLICANS.

Poor Keith, your seven viewers will miss you. I wonder who will be dumb enough to hire up this vacuous lack of talent once he officially gets his pink slip.
