This Story tells it all about “Common Sense Gun Control”
The deaths of Whitley and the teen were the 62d and 63d homicides in Boston this year, compared with 43 homicides at this time last year.
In a year where the rest of the nation is experiencing LOWER crime rates while Gun Sales Soar.
Let’s look at the unnamed teen first.
Boston police were investigating a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in Mattapan.
According to a police report, officers responded to a call at about 12:55 a.m. of shots fired in the area of Mascot Street. When police arrived, a man in his late teens was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Boston is the hardest place in New England to get a gun permit, possibly THE hardest now that Chicago and DC’s handgun bans have been struck down. It is nearly impossible for somebody with a clean background and enough cash for all the fees to get anything but a long-gun permit in Boston. Given that Mattapan is a low-income area controlled by the gangs, I suspect the person doing the shooting was NOT permitted…nor do I doubt the gun was legally purchased, or registered. Also permits are required for ammunition…also we have no “gun show loophole” so all sales and transfers need to be registered with the state. We also have an assault weapons ban, to make certain guns rare.
All this and we have a dead teen. Of course we were talking about two murders
In the first death, police got a call shortly before 8 o’clock Saturday night about a stabbing at 60 Dearborn St., according to Officer James Kenneally, a Boston police spokesman….According to witnesses, Whitley and another man entered Dearborn Liquors together, then got into an altercation that spilled out onto the street.
“They came in and started fighting; I don’t know why,’’ said Tony Polanco, manager of the liquor store. “I told them to leave, and they kept fighting out into the street.’’
An employee of a grocery store across the street said the dying man burst into his store and called out for help.
So the killer and the victim knew each other, where have we heard that before?…of course the murder weapon was a knife, not being a “Gun Death”, it is irrelevant.
Again, two dead bodies, both in high-crime gang-areas with strict gun control. How much longer are we going to push a failed policy before we do something that works?
Judging by the last election…not until gun control such as we have here is declared illegal by the supreme court….
