Happiness is a Warm Gun

Just got a nice email from the guy I sold my WASR-10 to, he had just gotten back from the range and had a great time with it, and said it functioned flawlessly, and wanted to thank me again for selling it to him.

I let him know about my L1A1 and how pleased I am to have it, and that I wouldn’t have been able to get it if it wasn’t for the cash generated by the sale of my WASR.

Do you think that people like Joan Peterson, or Jadegold, or MikeB302000 are every really happy giving their little speeches on the merits of gun bans?

Meanwhile I had me a ball talking about being a gunnie on Breda’s radio show. Had me some fun cleaning my surplus magazines, and MAYBE I’ll get a chance to hit the range and warm up my guns a little bit. (Tho its been a busy week, so we’ll see)

They offer misery and guilt, we offer, reality, safety, and fun. Who would want to run with those losers with a deal like that?

Keep us posted on the FAL project. I’ve been wanting an affordable FAL, but know that Century’s QC can be spotty. Your reviews will be a big help.

Will do. I will say that I would NOT recommend buying a “Sporter” with the thumbhole stock. They totally suck, and it sounds like its not 100% plug-and-play to revert the gun to an origonal pistol-grip and buttstock configuration, and the sporter thumbhole does make the operation of the firearm less comfortable, and makes the safety a bit of a reach.

I still don’t regret my purchase as there are a small number of FAL rifles that are Mass AWB legal, and it was something I was ready to buy. So far I will say the fit-and-finish of this firearm appear to be pretty darn good. The barrel is VERY nice looking (despite being used) and the controls work very smooth. We’ll see how it shoots, but I suspect it will run well as its simply military parts cobbled into a CAI upper.

excellent job on BB&Guns, i really love just how well you came across. I think that next time i have to debate someone over the “intelligence of the gun culture”, I’ll cite that episode as an example of intelligent individuals (and responsible gun owners) who ‘joined’ the culture after reaching their own conclusions rather than following anyone’s party line.

I will of course disavow any knowledge of vicious circle if i can help it 😉 although it is one of my guilty pleasures, during especially boring late evening shifts. As an aside, I was watching a lets play of ‘Kings Quest V’ and thought of you when I saw this… The “SWARTHY HOG INN”.

Has a bit of a ring to it, don’t it?

You forgot one of their other shining attributes: dick jokes.
