So Caleb made a discovery in his new home state.
Apparently Washington State has a waiting period for people that want to purchase a handgun and don’t currently have a Washington Concealed Pistol License.
However, the waiting period doesn’t apply to rifles.
He makes the analogy that one can buy a whole ton of mayhem and side-step this silly little rule by simply buying a long-gun rather than a pistol.
Of course for even more stupid, Caleb is a practical shooting fanatic, he has cases of guns, most of which are well suited for personal defense…or mayhem.
Of course on top of all of that the whole “Cooling Off Period” bit is a myth cooked up by the Anti-Rights people. See the waiting periods were instated because all background checks had to be done with paperwork via US Mail. When the National Instant Check System (NICS) came about there was no need to waste time, and money to check somebody’s background by Mail. Just make a 10min phone call and ta-da, your background is declared clean, and you can take your gun with you! See the Anti-gun people don’t actually care about safety, or crime, they just want to harass lawful gun owners (meanwhile places that support gun control seem to enjoy having bleeding heart judges that let violent criminals off with minor penalties) so they cooked up something about “Cooling Off” before you buy your gun.
But Caleb has a bunch of guns, why would he need to “cool off” with an armory full of guns? If he was “hot” enough to do something bad, why does he need to buy a new gun?

Insanity? Repeating the same action and expecting a different outcome? 15-day cooling off period, then 10-day cooling off period, then one-gun-a-month, nickel-a-round ammo tax. At the rate the violent crime rate is dropping here in the Peeples Republik, another couple of anti gun bills and the violent crime victims will start coming back to life. I know this can happen, because the dead rise every first Tuesday in November in even-numbered years in most congressional districts in this state.
