Joan Peterson Writes the Perfect Pro-Gun Post

Joan Peterson is insane. The interesting thing about crazy people is they think the rest of us are weird for our behavior or desires, or think we all feel the way they do, and just express it differently.

People like Cat man think we all want to modify our bodies to look like animals, he’s just one of the few with the balls to do it.

But while Cat Man is just a crazy dude, Joan Peterson is a fairly high ranking spokesperson and political leader for both the Brady Campaign and the Joyce Foundation! Yep Joan Got invetations to Brady Campaign meetings and photo-ops, and has been asked by the Joyce Foundation to speak for them to the news.

So not only is she insane, but the major gun control lobbies whom she works for see her insanity and still choose her as a representative.

So now all that being said let’s have a peek at what might be the best pro-gun post written by her.

First she starts off with a pair of shooting stories, one she links wrong, but can be found here, the other here

Both stories are from states with some of the most stringent gun control laws (California and Illinois) involving under age people, possibly with criminal ties, and in the California case in a gun-free zone, a school.

The last is an honest-to-goodness defensive gun use.

The last stories are on campus carry which I can’t add more than is in this thread. Joan’s Take?

The first few headline actual shootings of actual people in public places where presumably we should be safe from shootings. But, of course, shootings can happen just anywhere and to anyone and they do.

Yep that’s why I carry a gun everywhere I go, Joan. That’s a Very compelling argument for private gun ownership indeed!

About 80 a day occur on average, the highest in the civilized world not at war.

80 times 365 adds up to just below 30,000 which is all gun fatalities in America. Its a loaded number because more than half are suicides, and of the remainder some are lawful shootings in self defense, or by law enforcement.

But the Highest in the Civilized world? What’s your definition of “Civilized”? Is South Africa not Civilized? Thailand? Mexico? Barbados? Paraguay? Is your defintion of “Civilized” “mostly White People?” So how about Belarus? Latvia? Estonia? Ukraine? Are these not “Civilized” nations? Or do you just not care if what you say is true or not?

Also why “Gun Death?” why not violent crime? Again the United States is hardly at the top of any of those lists, and many of the nations are hardly 3rd world nations.

The pet store robbery is an illustration of stupidity on the part of the gunmen who tried to rob a pet store, of all things. It is also a case of a justified use of a gun in self defense as the owner had his permit to carry and a loaded gun. He managed to hit one of the robbers without killing him and the robbers were caught. It is also a case of how badly things can go when guns are drawn. One customer ran into a back room and a shot was fired because the robber thought the person was going to get a gun. That shot went through a wall but didn’t hit anyone. Things happen in a hurry in these situations so it’s not easy to think straight with a gun in your hand. In this case no one was killed but one of the comments on the article indicates that the robbers ( low lives) should have been killed. Certainly the young men who tried to rob this store deserve punishment but death?

Yep a store was a frequent target for robbery…you think it’ll be robbed again? Also the gunmen fired first and before they knew the guy behind the counter had a weapon, doesn’t sound like they were reluctant to use force. Again this is quite the pro-gun piece!

I get push back from the other side for my honest views as if I am an evil person who has evil intentions to do them some wrong.

Well you’re not honest, and you preach disarmament even while giving great cases for why lawful and honest people SHOULD go armed. Doesn’t sound like honesty on your part, Joan, no. I assume you understand all these things, given that you work for the major gun control groups in this country, and you have been reading the responses to your posts on your blog, but instead you choose to be dishonest and stand on the side of the criminals? That really is evil.

One side has the majority of public opinion, the other side has power and money.

No, your side doesn’t have power or money….oh are you attempting to claim that the majority of people stand with you? Doesn’t look that way… If most everybody is on your side, why is your side so empty?

The pro-rights side does have money, and that’s mostly because if you have a huge number of people and ask them all to donate a small amount that’s a lot of money. If you have very few people (like anti-gun groups have) they need to donate LARGE amounts of money to get any worthwhile budget. Also Joan holds several director positions within the Brady Campaign and the Joyce Foundation, meanwhile most of the pro-rights directors seem to have their hands full with their personal jobs. Where do you get all the time, Joan?

So there you have it, Joan Peterson makes a great case for gun rights, but then mumbles some blatant lies about why being disarmed is somehow smart.

She’s crazy, but her crazy seems normal to gun control advocates. Does it seem normal to you? Does she seem to have “Common Sense”?

Or does she seem to make an excellent case for why we should have less restrictions on our right to keep and bear arms, and our right to self defense?

While I was reluctant to give them page views, I was curious enough to learn how one joins the Brady Campaign to Enslave Free Citizens that I followed the link from their Wikipedia article. I saw several “how to donate” links, along with a link to get on their e-mail list, but nothing about how to join.

OTOH, when I went to the the NRA home page, I saw a link to “How to Join” top-and-center.

Isn’t it odd that the self-proclaimed “largest national, non-partisan, grassroots organization leading the fight to prevent gun violence” has no easy way for a like-minded person to join, let alone carry out grassroots activity beyond responding to e-mailed Action Alerts?

The wife is getting pissed at me because I haven’t taken the time to hang all my life-member plaques. NRA, GOAL, Second Amendment Foundation. All were painfully easy to join, and just as easy to start the process of life membership. Also all are easy to quit (not so sure about life membership, but I’m sure a few quick phone calls can sever all ties) I know lots of people who chose to, or just let their NRA membership lapse. I personally know a few people who let their GOA membership laps in part because of their behavior here

Not only is it not clear how to “Join” the Brady Campaign, or the Joyce Foundation, its just as hard to figure out what they count as a member.

If I donate $20 to “Ban Assault Clips” am I a Brady Campaign member? What if I show up and walk in a “Million Mom March” or Volunteer to hold a sign at a protest, Am I a Brady Campaign Member? What does say Joan Peterson need to do to keep her position current with the Brady Camp? Are they aware of her activities in the Joyce Foundation? If So do they they have ethical issues for how she can conduct herself there?

And let’s say I see the light…or better yet somebody donates $20 in my name (Kaveman bought Jadegold a NRA membership once) How do I stop becoming a member? Unless somebody renewed Jade’s membership, it expired and he’s off the roster. I’m sure he could call the NRA and say there was a mistake.

Is there any analoge of that in the Brady Campaign or the Joyce Foundation?

They are not even remotely the same type of organization.
