Good Video Series on a Liberal from South Africa and Guns

Makes a few statements that show me he sure is a Liberal, but I think he fits the Classical Liberal definitions better than say the European Socialist Inspired “Progressive” Liberals that are the bulk here.

Still this is NOT a political issue. Even the anti-gun people claim the same desires as the pro gun people. More safety, and he touches on that well.

Crocodile Tears

So Bluesun has a scan of a print article that really shows what an idiot Governor Hickenlooper is!

So he’s sorry he passed those crappy gun laws. If he was REALLY sorry he’d give Bloomberg the Finger and work to REPEAL those gun laws. I doubt it would be hard.

Images of the Antis: Strawman

Man they really do enjoy creating their own reality to make their agenda look legitimate:

Ok so we have somebody open carrying, and a dead body. The gun owner claims he was “threatened about having a gun in public”, and he “Stood his Ground”.

Let’s pick things apart. We have lots of open carry demonstrations going on in this country, as well as people who just prefer to carry a gun openly and aren’t really activists about it, or only passive activists when questioned by strangers.

As of yet there has not been a single instance of somebody getting shot in these simple interactions. I’m sure there have been several legal self defense cases from people who open carry just like there has been with people who carry concealed. Stand your ground just holds prosecution to solid due-process laws when declaring a claimed defensive shooting as an unlawful homicide.

Now we do have some blowhards threatening people who open carry on the internet. So far this is just keyboard bravado, but if a lawful citizen is brazenly attacked with physical force, they have the right to defend themselves, and I have no sympathy for the attacker no matter what their reasons or rational.

Anti-Gun Non Sequitur

So let’s take a scenario: Kids drink copious amount of over the counter cold medicine to get high. Sometimes they OD or foolishly mix it with other drugs, or generally get themselves into trouble that naturally comes with unsupervised children tweaked out of their minds.

Media reports get out, and parents of dead or injured kids start telling their horror stories. So the political call is to ban Tylenol, and require a doctor’s prescription for hemorrhoid cream!

Now of course DXM abuse is a real thing, and most stores have moved it behind the counter and will only sell small amounts to people over the age of 18. But my fictitious reaction is really how gun control works.

Let’s first do a little historical recap.

During prohibition and the great depression there was a massive crime wave of bootleggers and interstate bank robbers. These criminals favored automatic weapons, and cut-down guns for easy transport and concealment. These weapons were most often stolen from police or army arsenals, or in the case of the Chicago mob, likely issue weapons brought in by corrupt cops.

The solution, make sale of automatic and short barreled firearms prohibitively expensive!

Then we had The President shot by a Communist nut job, His brother shot by an anti-Semitic nutjob, and a Civil Rights Leader was shot by a Peckerwood nutjob. The solution, make gun shops have to have licensees and deny people convicted of certain crime the access to buy guns.

Then we had a US President shot several times with a 6-shot .22 Revolver by a mentally ill man who legally bought it! The solution, waiting periods and background checks for gun sales.

The Brady Campaign later used James Brady’s injury from that 6-shot revolver to implement a ban on semi-auto rifles and magazines holding more than 10 rounds!

So as comical as my quip about the ban of Tylenol and restriction on hemorrhoid cream, it really rings true with the anti-gun reactionaries.

See this latest screed!

A Reynolds High School teacher said he’s lobbying for gun control legislation, including background checks, a minimum age requirement and safety training for gun owners, in light of this week’s deadly shooting at the school.

…Needler said the shooting has moved him to political activism for gun control. In his post, he outlines potential gun restrictions, including requiring gun purchasers to get three letters of recommendation before obtaining firearm and mandate “rigorous” gun safety training. He also supports background checks and minimum age requirements for gun owners.

Now let’s look at his case. We have a 15 year old kid who was too young to own or buy guns, and too young to have a carry permit. He broke into his father’s gun safe and stole two guns and brought them into the school’s gun free zone. Shot one student dead, attempted to kill a teacher, and then quickly was cornered by two armed police officers who were on site before the shooting, which lead him to take his own life. Here’s another line from the teacher’s screed.

In a post that’s been shared more than 1,355 times since Tuesday night, the veteran science teacher said he and his 40 or so students crammed into a corner of a classroom with walls made of “flexible bulletin-board material” that “any bullet that exists could go through easily.” Needler — who described the shooting as the nightmare he feared since he began teaching 14 years ago — thought about his wife and child.

So the “Solution” for this is his above crap about registration, letters of recommendation, minimum age requirements (which already exist!) and safety training. Nothing about the stupidity of a “Gun Free Zone” that is just a sign on the door. Nothing about how two armed men with guns kept this from becoming worse. Nothing about the foolishness of the “Shelter in Place” reaction to violent assault.

I’m not sure how such outlandish reactions happen. Even worse this man is a SCIENCE TEACHER! He allegedly has training in cause and effect, the scientific method, and vetting a hypothesis.

He SHOULD be ashamed of himself, but it appears that anti-gun people don’t have the ability to process shame.

“Gun Death” Hospital Fire

Man this is bad!

A fire believed set by an 81-year-old dementia patient blazed through a hospital ward for the elderly Wednesday and killed 21 people in southern South Korea, mostly from smoke inhalation, police and fire officials said.

The fire on the second floor of the Hyosarang Hospital in Jangseong county also injured seven people and raised concerns about lax fire regulations at a time when the nation is undergoing soul-searching about public safety following last month’s ferry sinking that killed more than 300 people.

Yet it is national news when 6 people are killed by a crazy kid, because THREE of them were shot. Again, it is obvious that only “Gun Death” counts.

Kinda Like Open Carry

Because people have the right to not be disturbed:

Victoria Wilcher, 3, was reportedly told to leave a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Jackson, Miss., because her facial scars supposedly scared customers.

Wilcher’s face was mauled by three dogs.

A terrible story. Aftermath?

KFC launched an investigation as soon as we were made aware of this report. We take this very seriously, as we have zero tolerance for any kind of hurtful or disrespectful actions toward our guests.

Now a poor girl horribly disfigured is indeed different than attention whores playing Military Larp with their tricked-out rifles at Chipotle. Still despite my feelings about the ongoing Texas open carry fiasco, I will note that the open carriers have hurt exactly the same number of people as this girl.

Think about that.

More Tone Deafness and Ignorance

This is really a story from Bizzaro world

More than 1,000 demonstrators — including nearly 100 from Newtown, Connecticut, the site of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting rampage — marched across the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday, demanding that action be taken to stem the recent wave of mass shootings across the U.S.

…”We have to stop the madness,” said U.S. Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y. “Too many people have died, and too many lobbyists have lied.”

Who’s lying? First up there hasn’t been a “Wave” of “Mass Shootings”. The numbers are all statistical noise every mass shooting event is a statistical outlier and like outliers they really don’t show any sort of trend. Also they are marching in NEW YORK CITY! The current gun control Capital of America, and how has that SAFE act worked out for them?

Heck many of the events they rally around have been presented in shamefully misleading light.

Who lies? And for the kicker there’s this:

The event was organized by several groups — including Moms Demand Action, Everytown For Gun Safety and Mayors Against Illegal Guns — which are all funded by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The billionaire Bloomberg, who was not in attendance, has become one of the nation’s most visible gun control advocates and has pumped millions of his own money into the cause.

Even this propaganda piece can’t help but cover it’s ass. “SEVERAL GROUPS” is what they say, but they do point out that really this the paid entourage of ONE MAN. Also one man who has a LOT of juice to block off a major bridge and staff it with police officers, and given his past activities I wonder how much of this was paid for illegally with City Money. Because as much as Shannon Watts bleats she isn’t going to appear in public unless there are SEVERAL semi-auto weapons with large capacity magazines close by.
