Another Gunny Troll

From Caleb

BTW I noticed most gunnies I rub elbows with enjoy a good drink. I’m having one right now.

Why is that? Well probably because we’re friggin’ grown-ups! They don’t call them “Adult Beverages” for nothing!

DGU Peafowl

More of an interesting story than a true Defensive Gun Use:

A Houston-area man said he shot and killed his daughter’s peacock after the bird scared several people in the neighborhood for weeks…

Richards’ neighbor, Billie Rumsey, decided she had had enough when the bird went after her again Wednesday.

“When you have a big bird up that high and you’re coming out the patio door and that bird comes down on you, it’s terrifying” she said.

Rumsey tried calling Harris County animal control and was told they did not deal with birds. She said she also tried to get help from at least two animal rescue groups without result.

She finally called the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, which sent a deputy.

The deputy tried using a stun-gun on the peacock, which did not appear to affect it. Riley then asked the deputy for permission to shoot the bird and got it.

I like that the deputy allowed the owner to take care of the problem. Permission was only asked as all non-lethal forms of capturing the bird were exhausted. I’ll note that if the bird is yours, on your property, and you have a safe backstop for misses and pass-throughs, I don’t see why the cops need to be involved at all.

Lastly I share the owner’s frustration with the ineptitude of animal control. I’ve called animal control twice in my life, once in Maine when a likely rabid raccoon was rummaging through our garage, and another time in Massachusetts when a likely rabid skunk was skulking around my yard. Both times Animal control did nothing. Both animals were nocturnal animals in broad daylight showing little concern for humans and showing bad coordination.

Of course I did have an animal control officer knock on my door in Maine once asking me “Is that your cat?” I looked over his shoulder and saw a dead cat that probably got hit by a car. He carted the body off.

Oh and the place in Maine, and Mass were both areas where discharge of firearms inside the town limits were forbidden, so if I actually wanted to do something good and put a round into the animal with soft dirt behind them, I could be charged with a crime.

Tell that to somebody’s pet who’s been attacked by a rabid animal!

“Gun Death” Tragic Boating Accident

People striving for freedom die.

At least three people died and two were missing after a boat capsized Thursday off southeast Florida in what is being investigated as the latest case of immigrant deaths during an escape from a Caribbean country, the Coast Guard announced.

Just a day earlier, four women died and at least 11 were rescued in another incident that is also thought to involve immigrants seeking to enter the United States.

Illegal immigration, but they’re still human beings. Human beings that died in the sea, rather than from gunfire. So its not a “Gun Death” so it isn’t relevant to the “Progressives”.

Being Anti-Gun Means Never Having to Make Sense

A Colorado Lawmaker had a gun stolen, and the “Progressives” are calling him a Hypocrite for opposing “Universal Background Checks”.

Do they really think Thieves will decide to take their stolen wares to an FFL for a background check?

Also this is a good reason to not leave a gun laying on a shelf in the open.

Flying a Flag that Simply Reads: “False”

You would think the anti-gun advocates had failed enough times with false flags attempting to divide the gun owning community they would just give up.

Just found this article via the usual enemy transmissions:

The gun responsibility organization Evolve and Saatchi & Saatchi New York today launched the first phase in a national culture change campaign aimed at reducing gun violence in America.

The campaign aims to become the “third voice” in a conversation that has been gridlocked for decades….The Code includes tenants such as I believe that owning a gun is a responsibility. And that gun safety is the most important part of that responsibility. I believe a gun in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing. I will be answerable for every gun I own at all times. …

Evolve is about changing the culture of gun safety in America. We represent the third voice: the gun owner, manufacturer, retailer and non-gun owner who all want the same thing: less violence. It’s time. We respect that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear arms. Let’s make our country a better, less violent place.

So that presser seems pretty reasonable on the surface. I would argue that the voice of gun rights advocates have owned the narrative of public safety. The United states is safer than its been since the 1970s! Gun ownership is at an all-time-high. Carry permit issuance is at an all-time high. Gun laws are becoming more and more liberal.

Let’s look at their web page:

I believe that while anyone can own a gun, real gun owners use their heads. I believe a gun in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing. I will keep all of my guns unloaded, locked, and properly stored when not in use. I will be trained in how to use my gun. I will be answerable for every gun I own at all times. I will talk to my kids about the fact that there are guns in our home and those guns will be properly stored. I will speak out when I see people who are using guns without using their heads. I will respect what owning a gun means. I will respect the code.

With the exception of the “Locked and Unloaded” that is 100% the NRA’s stance on gun ownership. Further looking through their website all you have for “Discussion” is signing up for their mailing list and donating money to them. There is no forum, there is no way to voice a different opinion or point out flaws in their platform.

Further there is talk about gun ownership, and citations of violent crime, but nothing about legal personal defense…you know the REASON why we own guns.

They don’t actually have any citations for ACTUAL action besides the boiler-plate “Safe Storage” which is opposed by gun advocates because if followed to the letter, it greatly hinders lawful self defense.

What they DO have is this:

Ok first let’s savor the irony of this video. A group using their freedom of speech and expression to make a factually inaccurate, crass, and insulting video.

First up, the 2nd Amendment is NOT a law governing the people, its a restriction set up to prevent the government from overstepping its powers.

They then go on and cite “examples” or irresponsible gun ownership.

Better yet, the examples they cite are all CRIMINAL acts! You leave a loaded gun around and it discharges you’re liable for that. Nobody is disputing that. You let children play with firearms without proper training and supervision, you’re liable for that. Nobody is disputing that. You discharge a firearm in an unsafe manner, you’re liable for that. Nobody is disputing that.

Which begs the question: What is this group actually standing for?

I would note that this video seems to be openly hostile to modern gun ownership. At best they are openly ignorant in current gun laws and gun ownership.

I call “False Flag”.

“Gun Death” Too Much Soda

Wow, I didn’t know this was possible!

An East Tennessee couple is charged with murder in the death of the man’s 5-year-old daughter after an autopsy revealed the girl died from being forced to drink more than 2 liters of grape soda and water….The girl was blue and not responding. She had severe brain damage. An investigation revealed the girl had been forced to drink the water and soda over one to two hours as punishment. The massive intake of fluid caused her brain to swell and herniate.

Horrible! Again, I didn’t know that could be the end result. But why did they do this?

Abuse is abuse, and this indeed is NOT a “Gun Death”, so it doesn’t count!

Images of the Antis: That Stupid Strawman

Man the people who make this argument are REALLY stupid:

What they forget is that our brave military members GIVE UP most of their rights. Their speech is limited, their right to privacy is limited, and their right to keep and bear arms is totally destroyed.

Remember the shooting at Fort Hood? Dozens of service members being gunned down like sitting ducks. Why? Didn’t ALL of them qualify on the M16/M4 rifle? Didn’t many of the qualify with the M9 pistol? Why were they unarmed? Did they CHOOSE not to exercise their right?

Of course not, they were disarmed by the contract of their service.

They also are not allowed to sue the government for leaving them vulnerable to a terrorist in their own ranks, despite many complaints and observations that he was a danger.

Sorry you aren’t exercising your rights to keep and bear arms once you enter the military. Hell you can’t say “You know, Sarge, I’d rather not carry that gun!” any more than you can say “Hey Sarge, I would like to keep and bear my rifle while on base…and while off post!”

Heck you often can’t even choose how many magazine you carry, or how much ammo can be loaded in them. When most people carry a M1911 pattern pistol, or a Beretta 92 pistol they carry it with a round in the chamber, that is also forbidden.

These sacrifices are some of the reasons why I am so thankful for the people who volunteer for service…I just wish the Brass wasn’t so stupid about how they treat their soldiers.

Beatitiful Commertial!

Its a gun oil ad. I love it because it stands up for gays in the military, and gays in general. Its not an oil for your actual GUN, its for that other stuff, but I don’t see gun owners being threatened by that.

Also I can’t tell the race of the returning soldier, but I’m sure by bigoted standards this is also an interracial marriage.

The hard-line conservatives like Newt Gingrich, and Pat Buchanan aren’t great with guns, and they aren’t great with gays. Many of the Democrats who dislike guns aren’t that friendly to gays either.

The hard line Second Amendment supporters are the people who cry for Liberty for all, age, race, gender, and orientation.

Of course the anti-freedom types don’t like that much, and try to portray us as horrible bigots.

That’s simply projection!
