When I go to linked articles like this, I commonly find that the comments run about 10:1 against the idiocy proposed, unless the link is to a NY Times article. I suppose selection bias could drive supporters of gun control to only read and comment on a limited number of websites, and supporters of self-defense rights to only read and comment on posts as egregiously ignorant as ones like the linked post here. But it seems more likely to me that there really are more people pro-gun than anti-rights based just on comment threads to many, many posts like this.
When even the Brady campaign’s Joan Peterson has a blog where there are only a handful of commenters agreeing with her, and the vast majority of comments disagreeing with her, I have to wonder what the actual level of support is for such nonsense.
Hence why the anti-gun people are beating the drum that “The vast majority of gun owners support *Agenda X*!!”
Talk is talk, and bullshit walks. If you have a huge majority for such-and-such anti-rights laws, you don’t need to constantly talk about your level of support…you just need to rouse that support and crush the opposition.
This is how the massive pro-gun victories have been done, as well as the massive anti-gun defeats. To Quote the Bard: “The lady doth protest too much, methinks”
Or as we see on the pro-gun side. The dip-shit in Coyote Brown with the empty plate carrier and the $4,000 AR talking about what a “Badass Operator” he is, doesn’t amount to a hill of beans compared to the guy in plain jeans and a t-shirt, a Glock on his hip, and a shoebox at home under his bed filled with medals and pictures of people in horrible places in the world, who when you thank him on Veteran’s Day, or just generally thank him for his service he claims he was “Didn’t do anything” or “Was just doing his job”.
The biggest dude in the room doesn’t tell you how much of a badass he is, because he IS a badass, and knows how ugly things get when he’s forced to flex his muscles.

It wasn’t that bad, the bleeding stopped incredibly quickly and I got everything put back together in more-or-less where it should be.

BTW many of my nasty gashes come from doing things I should know better. I honestly don’t know how this happened. I was cutting the zipties off a toilet paper holder and the damn blade skipped into the soft skin on the inside of my middle finger.
Oh well, at least I didn’t have to go to the hospital!
Rep. Grace Meng, D-N.Y., was robbed Tuesday night near Capitol Hill and has returned to her regular duties.
Meng said in a statement released Wednesday by her congressional office that she was walking toward her apartment after dinner when she was struck in the back of the head near Sixth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Her assailant took her purse before fleeing from the scene.
“While this was a frightening ordeal, I fortunately was not seriously injured,” Meng said. “Obviously, things could have been much worse. I thank the U.S. Capitol Police and the District of Columbia Police for responding quickly and professionally.”
You bet it could have been much worse! We’ve documented many cases where somebody was struck once from behind and died on the ground.
Still no gun was used, so SUCCESS!!

And back to the corporate gun lobby, they have made a shameful attempt to exploit the anniversary of the shooting of JFK by selling coins with the image of the President as advertised in the American Rifleman magazine.
This “story” was torn apart by Miguel. Yes an NRA Advertiser is selling uncirculated 1964 silver dollars. You see, John Kennedy was an NRA life-member and an avid shooter. He was the last Democrat in the White House to actually support the Second Amendment. Further those who support gun rights are also concerned about the future, so silver coins have a lot of appear.
Still now comes the Irony:
There is no reason that makes any sense for opposing the latest attempts to save lives. As we approach the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting on December 14th, we need to remind our elected leaders that they have had the chance over the past year to prevent at least some of the deaths due to bullets by passing a background check bill. But they have failed us. That is shameful pandering to those whose interest lies in making profits and not saving lives. We lose too many people every day to bullets to ignore the problem and fail to act.
Yep, selling silver coins bearing the likeness of a pro-gun president is “Exploiting a Tragedy” but citing a mass shooting and in the same breath talking about legislation that would have done NOTHING to stop it is fair game.
Soul, Joan…you obviously don’t have one…

I haven’t heard much play on it, but I noticed she said “People terrorized because of the color of their skin…because of the color of their black skin.” Seems to again be core of the current “Progressive” racism in America, which is to brand anybody and anything as “Racist” against blacks and Hispanics, while fostering deep racism against Whites, Asians, and Jews that don’t toe the line in New York City and other “Progressive” Ivory Towers.

WINNIPEG – A serial killer who was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in jail for killing two aboriginal women apologized to the victims’ families and blamed drug addiction for turning him into a “monster.”…Lamb told police he hit Sinclair, 25, over the head with an axe handle, strangled her and left her body in his bathroom for several days before he dumped it near a garbage bin.
He told police he strangled Blacksmith, 18, with a TV cord, tried to revive her and then left to buy more drugs. He eventually dumped her body behind an abandoned house where it wasn’t found until six months later.
So the murder weapon was an axe handle, and a TV Cord. Good thing nobody had a gun, otherwise there would have been a “Gun Death”!
Guns and Alcohol don’t mix…so obviously we must ban guns!
A 22-year-old woman arrested in the stabbing death of another woman outside a Maryland Parkway bar made a first appearance today in Las Vegas Township Justice Court….Madera was stabbed to death Tuesday outside Champagnes Cafe, 3557 S. Maryland Parkway, after a fight spilled out of the bar into the parking lot, according to a Metro Police report….Witnesses, including a bartender, told police the dispute apparently was triggered when Madera tripped Chavez’s boyfriend in the bar, according to the Metro report.
A series of arguments ensued and escalated into a three-way fight between Chavez, Madera and Madera’s sister, police said.
The fight spilled out a back door and into the parking lot.
Thankfully nobody had a gun!
