A Day To Give Thanks

Heading up to Maine for Thanksgiving. It a LOT more packing this year. Normally I just throw on some of those nice clothes I generally only wear for family holidays, pack a few changes of clothes, a carry gun or two and I’m set for a long weekend in Maine.

Since this is little LaWeer’da’s first run to Vacationland not only are we bringing the covered wagon of baby travel stuff, but a few other appointments to leave with the grandparents for future trips.

And for all of that, I am SO thankful.

Have a happy Holiday guys!

Aaaaand….MORE Sea Monsters

Greenland Shark choking on Swamp Donkey!

Probably was feeding on a dead moose that had fallen through the ice, or got washed out to sea in a river or by the tide.

Still one can imagine some more interesting stories, no matter how unlikely!

Quote of the Day: Joan Peterson

A quick one from Joan:

Kids often know better than the adults in their lives and sometimes it takes a kid’s voice to call attention to our problems. For it is for our children that we need to change the way we are doing things. We can save lives if we choose to do so. Why wouldn’t we?

Kids know better than adults? BULLSHIT! Further this is reference to the Brady Campaign ad talked about here. Yes a child was exploited for this video (I say exploited because I know the Brady dire financial straits, and this voice actor was neither given credit in the ad, and I suspect they were given just as much compensation for their labor) but the words were written by an anti-rights adult who is NOT concerned about our safety, nor reality.

Joan is troubled and deranged, as well as reality challenged.

“Gun Death” Mass Stabbing

If this was America, and it was a “Gun Death” it would be national news…but it isn’t.

Mexican investigators made the grim discovery of the bodies of eight people at a home in the northern border city of Ciudad Juarez on Sunday, and said the dead were believed to be related.

The victims, including three children, were found bound and appeared to have been stabbed to death, according to Chihuahua state prosecutors.

Prosecution spokesman Arturo Sandoval said the bodies were found early Sunday and apparently were members of the same extended family.

As we know from the bloodshed directly attributed to the ATF “Operation Fast and Furious” by giving Mexican criminals crates of guns and then escorting them to the boarder and then take no further action until the Frederales contact the ATF about a murder investigation, that “Progressives” don’t care at all about the lives of Mexicans. Further “Progressives” only care about “Gun Death”, so this is doubly a non-story.

The story points to this massacre being drug related, so maybe some of those bodies exhumed from the shallow graves are bad people who have done bad things…but what about the children? Also I deeply suspect that the Mexican government actually counts CHILDREN when they report a story, rather than the “Progressive” trope that somehow a 26 year old drug dealer is a “Child”.

Moar Seamonsters!

Didn’t know skates grew this big!

Captain Mark Quartiano, a charter boat operator who also goes by “Mark the Shark,” is seen grinning next to his fearsome catch in an Instagram photo he posted over the weekend.
“I’ve caught one like it before, but never that size, not in the last 30 years I’ve been doing this,” Quartiano told ABC News. “It’s a very rare fish. It’s like a big gigantic whipping stingray. It’s a dinosaur.”

The monster is better known as a Dactylobatus clarkii, a deep sea species also referred to as “hookskate” or “fingerskate.” It inhabits muddy sea depths of up to 1,000 feet.
This one measures in at around 14 feet, including the tail, and was caught in waters of about 500 feet deep, Quartiano said.

For Those People Who Don’t Understand “Causation” and “Correlation”

The Sandy Hook Killer….Dance Dance Revolution Addict!

But while many of his video games were violent, others were not. For months before the killings at Sandy Hook, he would go to a movie theater on weekends to play the dance game “Dance Dance Revolution” for hours, the report recounts.

Of course nobody is saying DDR lead him to kill. They are saying the fact that his mom was a shooter and gun owner, and that he played games like Call of Duty, and Grand Theft Auto, ARE reasons why he did his horrible deeds.

According to the reports they’re also trying to blame the Autism Spectrum.

What these assholes miss is that shooting is one of the most rapidly growing sports in America for all ages, races, and gender. Further games like Grand Theft Auto, and Call of Duty gross more than a whole summer of Hollywood blockbusters (which also tend to be pretty crazy violent), and of course we’re still trying to understand more about the Spectrum of Diseases known as “Autism”, but as we expand the definition of this I think we all know SEVERAL people who have one form of the Spectrum or another.

The bottom line is this killer was a rare and horrible creature, and that’s why this small town in Connecticut is a household name.

Still we need to look at REAL evil and read between the lines here. Do you know somebody on the Autism Spectrum who plays violent video games, and has access to firearms?

I can think of more than a few, and an assload more who can walk into a gun shop and easily walk out with whatever wiz-bang gun people want to wet themselves over.

I am not in the LEAST bit concerned about these people. I would trust them to watch my daughter without a second thought.

Yet this article claims they need to be feared and vilified.

How horrible is that? It seems the anti-gun people are ALWAYS looking for witches to burn.

“Gun Death” New Jersey and Sword

A deadly combination:

Aggravated assault charges have been filed against a central New Jersey man who allegedly slashed his father with a sword during a domestic dispute.

Sounds like the Father will live, but he was admitted to the hospital for a reason. Hey but this wasn’t a “Gun Death” so nothing to worry about.

Cold Duck!

Not the garbage wine, but some really cold ducks!

A flock of tiny ducks are recovering not far from fawns, squirrels and other birds at the WildCare rescue facility in Noble.

“They happened to hit a storm at the wrong time,” Wild Care Director Rondi Large said. During Friday’s storm, ice coated every exposed surface, including the wings of the migrating water fowl, forcing them to land.

From the air, roads covered in ice glistened like ponds and lakes. Some of the ducks mistakenly thought they were landing in water when they crashed into the asphalt.

“The edges of their beaks have very bad bruising and bleeding on the end, so they must have nosedived,” said Large.

Thaw out, guys!!!

Sea Monster Caught on Cam

I have NO idea what to make of this:

HerrBGone suggested it might be a giant squid of some sort. At first glance the massive squishy surface looked a little like a Colossal Squid, but I can’t see any arms or tentacles, which can be retracted, but the bigger thing is no eyes which on all of these deep sea squid are MASSIVE. Like the size of dinner plates.

Not seeing any major body parts at first I thought maybe its a massive tunicate colony.

Still looking at 4:15 I see what looks like the head and gills of a gastropod.

This page says its a Deepstar Jellyfish.

CRAZY!
