Maybe a New Tactic for Our Side?

Via Thirdpower from the Netroots con:

American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten said the movement should take a page from immigration and same-sex marriage advocates and present clear, touching stories of those who gain and lose from gun violence. “When people see faces and when they are impacted individually, it changes minds,” she said.

What she’s talking about is showing faces of dead children…possibly the bodies of dead people (against the wishes of the families I might add!) to push an anti-gun agenda.

Still the pro-gun side is one of facts and reason, and we’ve had so much of this emotional pearl-clutching that we’ve got a pretty good callus built up to it.

Still the anti-gun side LIVES in this land. So maybe it will work well for US!

This is Jeanne Assam, and without her, and her gun, the New Life Church likely would have been a mass-shooting on the scale of the other media circuses exploited by the anti-rights cult.

Let them tell us why SHE shouldn’t have had a gun that day!

Images of the Antis: Control!

This is an interesting one:

Did the 55 MPH limit make us safer? There is no evidence to say it did. What is sure did was clog highways at rush hour, not only making driving more complicated, but forcing people to drive at less ideal times, possibly while they are tired.

Also these laws were first imposed in the 1970s when cars had drum-brakes that could lock-up, and tires that were not safe at high speeds. Now that cars are safer and can handle at high speeds….the limits are the same as they have been for the last 30+ years.

If there was an argument about letting the government dictate an arbitrary limit on things this is it. Weather we’d be safer or not, the government won’t give back what it has taken.

So we won’t give you the power to abuse in the first place. Deal?

Truth in Advertisement!

Saw some of these in the grocery store and HAD to buy them!

They are EXACTLY what they say they are. For further reference, have you ever had a backyard cookout and eaten a juicy steak or hamburger on a plate with some chips, and ended up with some soggy chips that had soaked up that sweet-sweet meat juice? Well minus the soggy this is EXACTLY what they taste like!

I won’t lie, I don’t much care for plain potato chips, and the more adventuresome the flavor the more I like them!

We are living in amazing times!

“Gun Death” Registry

This is a horrible one…but it shows the effectiveness of registries.

A man who has been charged with killing an elderly Alaska couple and raping their 2-year-old great-granddaughter is a registered sex offender convicted of breaking into a home and assaulting an 11-year-old girl four years ago.

Jerry Andrew Active, 24, was convicted in 2010 of assaulting the girl near Dillingham, Alaska, while her family slept.

Authorities say that on Saturday, Active broke into the apartment home of Touch Chea, 71, and his wife Sorn Sreap, 73, and beat the couple to death. He also raped Sreap, police said.

He was still inside the residence when their grandson, his pregnant wife and son arrived. The grandson, Von Seng, fought Active, but the assailant managed to flee. He was arrested nearby only wearing boxer shorts, authorities said.

Those who use “Gun Death” like to claim that registries for either guns or gun owners will somehow stop crime. This guy was on a registry, and was free to roam…and look how well it worked.

The real shame is nobody had a gun to shoot this animal.

“Gun Death” Stupid Pet Trick

A joke is no longer funny when it becomes a “Gun Death”.

Authorities say a Kentucky teenager known as a jokester was strangled by a dog lead he put around his neck while playing with friends at the start of summer vacation.

Estill County Coroner Tony Murphy said Monday that 16-year-old Tony Conley died near his home in eastern Kentucky when he apparently jumped off an outdoor deck staircase and the dog lead tightened around his neck. He called it a freak accident and a terrible tragedy.

Murphy says friends tried but were unable to cut the metal cable and Conley was pronounced dead at the scene Friday evening.

Man, horrible enough that a young kid was killed for a laugh…but his friends were along for the horrible ride in attempting to save him when it all went wrong.
