Gun Banners Only Care About Useful Victims

If you get shot, the antis will beat a path to your door because “Gun Death” is their preferred currency.

If you get raped, they’ll toss you under the bus.

Yeah because whistles and call-boxes are the exact tools to keep you safe.

BTW don’t worry about this guy, only Republicans who belittle rape victims get drummed out of office!

On Minimum Wage

I never got the whole “Living Wage” crap. Minimum wage is NOT an end point, its the starting point, and if you can’t get off of it, there’s more issues at play than just your cost of living.

Plus there’s all that other stuff, like increased unemployment and business efficiency.

The “Progressive” Delemma

Left Wingers for years were complaining about over-population. You see people pollute and do bad things to rape mother Gaia, so praise be upon places like China who limits parents to one child.

Of course that can upset the commie apple cart a bit:

We have entered the age of the fertility panic. Country after country is discovering that smaller families are causing the population to shrink, which means more old people, and therefore higher government expenses and lower tax revenues. And many of those countries are then jumping to the wrong conclusion: that they should persuade people to have more kids.

But what about mother Gaia????? What about carbon footprints? What about trash, waste and pollution???

Snicker…

“Gun Death” Hit Man

A Hit Man, what do you think? Scoped rifle? Silenced Pistol? Machete?

A Santa Ana man who was hired as a hit man by a woman to attack her husband with a machete was sentenced Friday to 25 years to life in prison.

Antonio Cinco Ortega, 26, had been convicted in November of fracturing the husband’s skull, severing some of his fingers and chopping off a chunk of his nose in the attack.
Ortega was found guilty of one felony count of attempted murder with premeditation and deliberation, one felony count of conspiracy to commit murder and one felony count of mayhem, according to a statement from the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

BTW Machetes can be bought at any hardware store for under $10, no background check, no ID, not even registration!

Hey, but guns are the big problem in America!

More “Safety” At Gun Free Zones

School held responsible for security lapses.

The families of three college-bound friends murdered in a Newark schoolyard in 2007 have reached a $5 million settlement with the city schools and state.

The settlement was announced Tuesday, several weeks into a civil trial.

The state attorney general’s office says the Department of Education is responsible for $3 million and the Newark school district is liable for $2 million. The state has oversight of the Newark schools….The families claimed the school district was negligent for leaving gates to the Mount Vernon School open at night when the schoolyard was a known gang hangout.

“Known Gang Hangout”? God, why would Gangs hang out in a “Gun Free Zone”? Its almost like those signs ATTRACT danger, rather than scaring it away!

Only Ones

One great argument for the 2nd Amendment was from Penn and Teller, when they said “Who do you call when they people who are harming you are the police?”

Officials say 10 current and former metro Atlanta law enforcement officers are accused of accepting thousands of dollars to provide protection during drug deals.

U.S. Attorney Sally Yates said the arrests Tuesday came from a undercover federal investigation of an Atlanta-area street gang in August 2011

Agents learned from someone associated with the gang that officers were accepting cash payments to provide drug deal protection. Authorities say the payments were generally several thousand dollars per transaction, and some participated in several transactions.

The cops working for the criminals. Nice, huh? Also Several thousand dollars for protection? Can you imagine how much money those deals must be making to make that worth it?

As I’ve said before, the world would be a scary place if you could buy heroin at any corner store, but I doubt it would be as scary as the current “War on Drugs”.

Still Anti-Freedom

Anti-gun people aren’t just anti-gun, they’re anti-freedom.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has fought against smoking, big sugary drinks and salty food during his tenure, is setting his sights on a new foe: Styrofoam.

Bloomberg plans to use part of his Thursday State of the City address to push for a ban on Styrofoam food packaging. He also will call for initiatives that would increase the number of parking spaces for electric cars and begin recycling more plastics and food waste.

Bloomberg is one of those people who doesn’t seem to care if it improves anybody’s life, he just wants to tell others how they should live, because he feels he’s better and smarter than you. I suspect NYC already has a major deficit for car parking, and like every place, its light on electric cars, as the technology just isn’t ready for prime-time. Also most recycling programs are vastly worse for the environment than the more traditional methods.

Still he knows best, right?

Not Really, But Still Cool

They call it a “Sixth Sense”, but it really isn’t.

An experimental device allowed the rats to “touch” infrared light – which is normally invisible to them.

The team at Duke University fitted the rats with an infrared detector wired up to microscopic electrodes that were implanted in the part of their brains that processes tactile information.

The results of the study were published in Nature Communications journal.

The researchers say that, in theory at least, a human with a damaged visual cortex might be able to regain sight through a device implanted in another part of the brain.

Lead author Miguel Nicolelis said this was the first time a brain-machine interface has augmented a sense in adult animals.

Its really not a “Sixth Sense”, just adding augmentation to existing senses. Still this is cool stuff, on the idea that it could map lost senses to parts of the brain that aren’t lost, and all that is needed is to learn the interface.

I actually was thinking about back before I used my smartphone to listen to the radio, I had a small AM radio I’d carry with me, and I could use the radio to pick up electro-magnetic interference emitted by wires, and transmitters like cellphones. I simply could HEAR where the radiation was coming from, and that was kinda cool. Same idea with these rats.
