Police said a Donelson man was found dead overnight in his apartment with his head partially severed, days after he was killed….The man’s brother, Charles Masters, 33, was at the apartment when police arrived and made several unsolicited statements saying he was responsible for killing his brother.
“Among the utterances that Charles Masters made was something to the affect of, that he had been laying in the apartment with his brothers body for the past several days and Charles Masters was hoping that he would wake up and everything would be ok, but that he knew that everything would not be ok,” said Don Aaron of the Metro police department.
Jordan Master’s body also had multiple lacerations apparently inflicted by a sword, which was recovered from the apartment.
Police said Charles Masters also kept some sort of log or diary which is helping investigators determine a sequence of events. It has now been collected as evidence.
A sad story, but a sword is not a gun, so this is not a “Gun Death” so….
I currently live in a rail-free house. Not by choice, just so happens that all my guns just don’t have rails. That being said my next rifle will have a railed forend, and these magpul grips are the bee’s knees to me!
I call them “Pie Wedges”, just because I think its a better name, and who doesn’t like pie?
I don’t much care for vertical foregrips, as they feel unnatural to me, and they add a good deal to the overall profile of the rifle. These grips give you a firmer hold than just grabbing the forearm of the rifle, but don’t add much to the profile of the gun. They’re neat!
I must say that I’ve been intrigued by this gun since I first heard about it. Its a neat design, and has a lot of cool features, and .22 WMR is a neat round that doesn’t cost an arm-and-a-leg, nor is it hard to come by. And all at a reasonable MSRP.
Of course Kel-Tec firearms are not “Safe” for Massachusetts sale, and under no circumstances can non-law enforcement own post 94 magazines that hold more than 10 rounds…and the PMR holds, as its name states, 30 rounds.
Still on her target she had some keyholing issues. This is when the bullet isn’t properly stabilized by the rifling, causing the round to start tumbling (as the base of the bullet has more mass than the tip…so the base will want to go first if not spinning properly) and sometimes leaving holes from the SIDE of the bullet, which look a little like a keyhole.
Turns out its an ammo issue, not the gun. Go have a read, and look at the comments. McThag notes that it doesn’t appear to be a bullet weight issue, so its probably velocity differences between the rounds.
He also notes that once this gun (and potential copycats) hit the market, I suspect ammo will be made specifically for these pistols, much like the specialty .410 ammo made for the Taurus Judge and other .410 revolvers.
I really love this angle. It really should be burned into all of our brains that the bumper-sticker slogan “Gun Control is Less About Guns, and More About Control”. These people are against freedom of any sort at its core. Also this is a good comeback from the people who get pissy when you note that Candidate X should not be supported because they are anti-gun. You see it doesn’t matter if you own guns, or want to own guns, or carry or whatever. If a candidate is against lawful citizens keeping and bearing arms, they are most likely against any other bit of individual liberty you might hold dear.
Its not just about guns, or carry, or self defense, its a litmus test for freedom.
So on to Joan Peterson. (Again, note that Joan is an open representative of the Brady Campaign, and draws a paycheck from the Joyce Foundation. Given her association, and the openness of her remarks, her views are indeed THEIR views)

Its mostly sniveling crap about campaign finance. That point is moot because the people bitching about it A) Are Partisan hacks who don’t care when THEIR guy makes a mint in a fundraiser, or has a PAC in their team, and B) Somehow think that people are so stupid that they will do whatever a TV, Radio, or Internet Ad tells them to do….which is kinda silly, given that if there was no campaign finance, then there would be NO ads, and those dumb zombie voters simply wouldn’t show up…or something.
Still I think the big reason for me imbedding the above video is something he doesn’t take much time to explore. The shooting fundraiser is putting campaign donors on a firing line with loaded guns and live ammo with elected officials. I thought guns made it “too easy” to commit murder, so wouldn’t such fundraisers (which are held all over the nation) be rife with political assassination???

First of all, people shouldn’t be allowed to bring their guns into places that serve alcohol, period. Secondly then, why would anyone sanction that and add to the appeal? In Powder Springs, Ga, money has trumped public safety. The irony here is that if someone orders a drink at the bar/restaurant and is carrying a gun, that’s perfectly O.K. But that same person won’t be allowed to re-enter the firing range. Why is that? For the safety of the folks inside the firing range? What about the safety of the folks in the bar? Sure, a permit holder is not supposed to be drinking and carrying but bartenders don’t ask people if they have a gun tucked away before serving them a beer. Er uh, in this case, will everyone who is served a drink at this bar be carrying? That should be interesting. How about an ounce of prevention? I am betting that this Mayor knows better than this but he is under the influence of the gun culture….Really, Mayor? So drinking is part of our society. Guns are part of our society. We know the dangers of too much drinking. We know the dangers of too many guns in too many public places. Those things are unfortunate. And it’s truly unfortunate that the Mayor convinced the City Council to combine these two activities in a business venture and make some money by encouraging people to engage in risky behavior.
Ahh, Joan isn’t just a gun banner, but one of those nosy spinsters from the Women’s Temperance Union! Not only is she beating her same little drum about guns being dangerous, but also talking about the dangers of drinking.
She really has quite the tin ear, who’s she attempting to sway? Seems like this technique would work well for grade school students who have no experience with guns or alcohol. Let’s face it, most adults in America have had a drink or two (even Mitt Romney admits to have snuck a beer in his younger days, despite his Church’s stance against drugs and alcohol), and most people have busted a primer on SOMETHING in their life. Sure there are mass shootings, and there are degenerate drunks….but I think even the dumbest adult can quickly figure out that there is some other factor in those, rather than just combining the elements and bracing for disaster.
Hell Joan is almost pretending there are no places in America where somebody with a lawfully held gun can’t belly up to a bar and blow the suds off a beer, or sip a cocktail. Its really no difference from somebody driving to a bar or restaurant, enjoy a beverage, then drive home.
We have laws against drunk driving, as well as drunk operation of weapons. These laws work, but Joan wants more. Why? Because she hates freedom, and could give a shit about actual public safety!
Once Georgia passed a law allowing guns in places that serve alcohol, they had to find another way to ramp up gun sales and encourage people to carry their guns in these places. What’s next? This is the ubiquitous slippery slope. Our elected officials should be pressed to talk about the issue of gun deaths and injuries and be asked what they intend to do about an important national health and safety problem that is being largely ignored.
Who’s ignoring what, Joan? Several states have recently passed laws ending the prohibition of lawful carry in places that serve alcohol. Also lots of states never have been concerned about this issue in the first place.
Why not? Well where are the stories of drunken gun fights in the taprooms and streets? Great anti-rights misdirection! She talks about people ignoring her cause, and somehow claiming its because of the “Evil Gun Lobby”….meanwhile Joan is in fact a member of an anti-gun lobby group, and is pushing a non-issue, and fabricating evidence to “Support” it. Who’s the evil one?
Given these ideas, there is a clear choice in this election. Should we elect politicians who believe that, against all odds and all evidence to the contrary, more guns in the hands of more people in more public places make us safer? Should we elect politicians who support the idea that gun owners should form their own militia groups and own their own arsenals in case they need to fight against terrorism or tyranny?
Hmmm, is Joan not only speaking out against individual rights, but the anti-gun fabrication of a “Collective Right”? Yeah, they don’t do much to hide that….
Yep, they’re simply against freedom! She’s talking about the “dangers” of carrying guns juxtaposed with the “Dangers” of drinking beer. Anti-Freedom, not anti-gun. The politician who wants to take your gun, is the same person who wants to take the beer out of your hand, or the light bulb out of your lamp, or the car out of your driveway.
A box cutter is one of those tools. Many people have them, and businesses that need to open boxes tend to issue them to employees. They’re nice because they’re good at opening boxes, but are generally safer than knives. But then again, as we learned on the September 11th attacks they can also be used as weapons.
A South Korean man was arrested after allegedly attacking subway passengers with a box-cutter, injuring seven of them, police said.
The man, identified by his family name Yoo, was heading from Euijeongbu to Seoul when the incident happened, Yonhap news agency reported Saturday.
South Korea has a very low “Gun Death” rate…..but we NEED box cutters, so maybe we should just ban boxes???
While sitting in my backyard I heard adult male voices around the side of the house. I opened the gate and saw a white police officer handcuffing my 13-year-old son. The plainclothes Evanston, Illinois, officer and his partner did not identify themselves as police. They did not ask our son’s age or where he lived. They told him first to put his hands up and then handcuffed him. They assumed he was guilty, of what we didn’t know. His crime appeared to be that he was a black male.
Later, we would listen to the 911 tape of what preceded the incident. It was apparent police had targeted my son while he was riding his bike home from a friend’s house. Why? According to officers, he fit the description of a burglary suspect who had allegedly entered a nearby home. The description they offered: a black male wearing cargo shorts.
Our son was wearing cargo shorts, but that identification could have applied to hundreds of black males in Evanston on that particular day. Why didn’t the 911 dispatcher ask for a more detailed description of his skin color? His build? Whether he had facial hair? (He doesn’t.) Whether he had a tattoo or piercings? (He doesn’t.) Or whether he was wearing a hat? (He was.)
Reeks of lazy Police work, and a wrongful arrest. Sorry “Black male wearing cargo shorts” is pretty darn vague, and covers a LOT of ground. I’m not a huge fan of the whole “Driving while black”, as I know lots of white folks getting pulled over for a bullshit traffic stop, and I know lots of stories of black males doing all sorts of depraved shit, and getting rightfully arrested, but somehow think its only relevant to their skin color.

A man with a disabled right hand, arm, and leg, is suing Bank of America, saying while his bosses at Merrill Lynch accommodated his disabilities, BofA wasn’t having it when the company took over.
Daniel Herrmann, 38, worked in customer service for Merrill Lynch and later Bank of America before he was allegedly fired in 2010 for coming back from lunch one to two minutes late, ABC News reported Wednesday…..his new supervisors didn’t allow him enough time to type information into the computer between calls, causing his productivity to drop, he says.
“Dan was repeatedly told that accommodating him ‘wouldn’t be fair to people with two hands,'” his lawyer Emily Town told ABC News.
Now I think there are limitations to the Americans with Disabilities Act. In the Animal Husbandry field its expected you might have to lift a 50lb sack of feed or bedding for your work. If you’re the receptionist for a business, and have an uncontrolled seizure disorder, you might not be the ideal face for your business if the first impression for customers is you convulsing under your desk. If you’re a paraplegic, maybe EMS, Fire Fighting, or Law Enforcement isn’t the career path for you.
Still this case reeks of straight up bullshit. Two minuets late for a lunch break? Really? Not given some extra time to enter data into the computer, given that he has a disabled hand? Man this case just stinks. Could be that we’re only hearing one side of the story, but as I read it, I think the bank is being unreasonable.

His dad, 38-year-old Jeremy Roberts, is accused of stabbing his ex-wife, 36-year-old Candice Roberts, when she arrived to pick-up her two children from their Grove City, Ohio apartment, the Daily Mail reports.
”My dad just killed my mum. He just told me to call you guys,” the boy said in a recording of the call.
We all have knives…many of us are divorced…its almost like the tool is irrelevant to the crime.
Mitt Romney appeared on Univision Wednesday alongside Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas, but something was a little peculiar about his appearance — his skin tone. Looking back at the hundreds of photos logging his every moment on the campaign trail, the Republican presidential nominee is usually not so shockingly tan.
While his orangey-brown appearance on Univision could have been the result of bad lighting or a makeup mishap, left-wing blog the Democratic Underground concluded that Romney “dyed his face brown for his Univision interview.”
I’d say, bad makeup and bad lighting. Anybody who’s worked in TV or stage, it takes some pretty unnatural makeup colors to make light skin look vibrant under bright TV lights. Any time I see the cast of a stage production I’m always amused by the makeup. Under the light they look great, but as soon as they enter more natural lighting they look like Oompa Loompas. I suspect either the makeup available was off, or the lighting was significantly different….or maybe both.
But nope, according to the “Progressives”, this is just more RACISM!!!
