TSA Hate

Uncle has links to a few TSA stories.

One is an agent getting arrested for child porn. Is there ANY doubt why this creep was on the TSA? I wonder if the booth where the Backscatter images are reviewed are private enough so that the agent can masturbate when they’re espeshally enthralled with the images that pare presented.

Of course we’ve certainly seen people being singled out in “random” searches for their body types, do you not think this might also include the children we’ve seen patted down?

He also links a TSA employee pointing out the backscatter and pat-down procedures are worthless. That should be obvious as the TSA does NOT stop terrorists, and frequently lets contraband pass through screening checkpoints.

Of course the real horror is how isolated the outrage with them is. You hear from business travelers who dislike the added trouble, but overall the message I hear from the people is the 4th Amendment isn’t all that important to them, and even more alarming is that the TSA’s abysmal success rate is even less relevant to them.

What I really don’t like is the Carte blanche approval people give to anybody in authority. From the Police Officer demanding EVERYBODY on a road stop at a checkpoint because SOMEBODY may be drunk driving, or people consenting to searches of their vehicle or allowing Police to enter their home without warrant or probable cause, or the people who are so outraged that George Zimmerman might not have given his complete obedience to a 911 operator, or to the principal of the school that says your son is suspended because he left his Swiss Army knife or Leatherman tool in their bag, or your daughter brought a bottle of Midol to school without a note because she rightfully thought it was nobody’s business that she was experiencing menstrual cramps.

And the grotesque cherry on top is the TSA goons that have an impressive 0% success rate in stopping terrorism who are sexually assaulting our loved ones.

I’m so appalled that as a culture we so deserve this…I’d just rather not be judged by my idiotic neighbors, thanks.

DISBAND THE TSA YESTERDAY!

Slow Morning

I got a nice sold 7 hours of sleep when 8-9 were likely the order of the night. Got a ton of work at the office today.

Still some good news was last night I discovered that Magnum PI is back on Netflix Instant watch!

So for those of you who like Ferrari 308s, Aloha Shirts, Chest Hair, 1911A1s carried Mexican Style, great character acting, and bad plot writing, then your day is here.

We’ll see what happens down the line.

“Gun Death” Robbery

Man this is a weird one.

A 76-year-old Bronzeville neighborhood man who was robbed of the $10 he was holding when the suspect bit his hand earlier this month died this week at a West Side hospital.

Frankie Baity, 76, of the 4100 block of South Indiana Avenue was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Baity was hospitalized at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center after he was jumped from behind in the 4200 block of South Indiana on March 6 and the suspect bit his right pinkie finger to remove the $10 he was holding, police said.

They don’t know why he died, but I wonder if it has to do with a bite, bites can transmit some NASTY infections. Hey but the anti-freedom types say this can’t happen. Ban guns you’ll ban fatal robberies because “Gun Death” is the only way to die!

Sea Dreams

Man, part of me wants to sign up….but honestly the risk is too high.

Later this week, a crew plans to head out from Boston to a World War II shipwreck they’ve already found off the coast of Cape Cod.

Once at the site, they hope to recover platinum and gold from the bottom of the ocean that could be worth billions….The crew hasn’t seen precious metal yet at the site but underwater cameras show crates in a shape and weight that leads Brooks to believe he’s about to become a very rich man.

“I guess when we pull it up I think I’m going to be jumping up and down,” Brooks said. “I won’t sleep much I’m sure.”

Neither will crew members who stand to make 5 percent of the bounty.

“An average crew member here will make probably between $7 million and 12 million each,” Brooks said. He said he’s still looking for a cook and an engineer for the trip.

Of course they could get 5% of nothing if they get skunked.

Still a neat story!

Keep Your Mags Loaded

George Zimmerman’s charges to be announced in a few hours in Jacksonville Florida

The special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case will announce criminal charges against George Zimmerman on Wednesday, a law enforcement official told NBC News….previously announced that she wouldn’t take the case to a grand jury, first-degree murder is not an option.

Corey’s office confirmed that a news conference would be at 6 p.m. ET in Jacksonville, Fla.

Who knows what the charges will be, jst that Murder 1 is not on the table.

I don’t think the ball is going to drop tonight, but there is a slight chance that the charges will be minor chicken-shit charges just to bring Zimmerman to trial, in which case the racists might see this as a guilty man going free, and decide that molotov cocktails and ballistic rocks are the solution.

Keep your ear to the ground, your eyes peeled, and if you can avoid areas where these hoodie protests have been going down, that would be a VERY wise decision tonight. More on this when I hear the news.

Morning Read

Go have a look at the PJ Media article. The Title says it all: “Why I Called George Zimmerman a Murderer, and Why I Was Wrong”.

I did about the same thing, for about the same reasons. I think he was lawfully defending himself that night, and I think Trayvon Martin was NOT out to get candy and a drink that night.

Also Sebastian Points out there may be some oddness going on on Zimmerman’s legal side.

No idea what it means. I do know that if I were Zimmerman, I would be hiding out someplace, on leave from the college he’s taking classes from, and his job, and not making contact with his family who are being watched by the black racists looking for reward money and vigilante justice.

Even if the case goes 100% his way he’ll be in deep debt from lawyer fees, loss of work, and possibly paying rent for his “Safehouse” as well as the mortgage for his home he can’t return to. Also if he ever gets identified as THE George Zimmerman again, it’ll be up on the web in hours, and there’s a good chance somebody will come to that location with intent to murder him for reward money or vigilante justice.

Think about that. His life is ruined, and not because he was forced to kill in self-defense, but because people wanted a monster, and picked him to be it.

“Gun Death” Car Crash

You think you’re safe when you’re in your home from car accidents.

Central Florida authorities have identified the woman killed when a speeding car slammed into an occupied house, as well as the driver and a child injured in the crash.

The Orlando Sentinel reports 35-year-old Travis Fullencamp was driving the car when it slammed into the house with such force that it blew debris high into the air. He’s in serious condition at the hospital. Authorities are investigating to see how he lost control of the car.

Authorities say 39-year-old Melanie Chaplin was killed in the crash. Her 6-year-old daughter, Shelby, is listed in stable condition in the hospital.

The Florida Highway Patrol says debris from the crash landed on top of the home and another house. Two people inside the house at the time were not injured. Bystanders scrambled to pull the child out of the car.

No gun, no “Gun Death”. That seem right to you?

Car Scare Meme

Jay has a neat Meme of when he was most afraid while in a motor vehicle. Nancy takes it to a different level. I’ll go on my own route.

A few years back New England was hit with a severe ice storm. I know people who were out of power for weeks. Doubletrouble was actually stuck at his place for several days from fallen trees on his road and downed power lines. Of course I was JUST south enough that all we got was a wee bit of rain and some cold weather.

It happened to be this weekend we were getting together with Mrs. Weer’ds sisters who live in Northern Vermont.

Stupid Mistake #1. I didn’t even think twice of all the news stories of ice damage.

Mistake #2. I had a half tank of gas in my truck, and its my general practice that if I can get to New Hampshire I fill up there for tax reasons.

So off we went. It didn’t take much more than 10-15 miles on the highway before a night-and-day difference in the landscape happened. Rather than the snowy dreary December landscape, a crystalline world of broken trees and downed power lines were all we could see.

We had planned to stop at McDonalds as a treat (a greasy McMuffin does you good in moderation!) the first exit with a McDonalds was DARK, the restaurant was closed because of power.

This only got worse the further north we went. It wasn’t just the restaurants and houses, but the gas stations. Before we know it we’re halfway up New Hampshire, and the needle is getting near the red E, and we haven’t found an open pump yet. No problem, right? I have a AAA membership, worst case scenario I’ll just call for help and they’ll bring me a few gallons of gas!

Then I looked at my cellphone. Not only were the restaurants black, as well as the filling stations, but the cell towers were down too. I looked out on the Northern New Hampshire highway on a snowy December. It is VERY bleak and remote. No life, no traffic, no shelter.

Thankfully I have blankets and some food in my truck so we COULD hunker down and keep warm for a little while, and thankfully it was cold but not as brutal cold as New Hampshire can be in the winter that day. Still the idea of hunkering down in a dead truck under blankets and waiting for somebody to find us didn’t give us much comfort.

Dumb Mistake #3. Tho I had both my Mass and NH carry permits at the time, they were both still VERY new to me, and Mrs. Weer’ds sisters were VERY anti-gun at the time (they have since come around), I thought I’d not rock the boat and wasn’t carrying a gun. The thought of the WRONG somebody finding us while we were helpless was TERRIFYING!

Thankfully the truck had enough juice to limp us into Lebanon New Hampshire which was also mostly dark, but there WAS a single gas station that had power to their pumps and I was able to top off my tank and get us safely to the top of Vermont. Also it wasn’t far into Vermont when it became obvious that they just got a shitload of snow and no ice.

I was REALLY scared that day. I’ve been in accidents several times, and those aren’t fun, but while they’re happening all you’re thinking about is your driving skills and how to make it better. I remember hitting a patch of sand on a back-woods road in Maine and my truck went skidding off the road. All I was thinking was “BRAKES!!!!!!!” as I stood on the brake pedal as a massive pine tree got closer and closer. I didn’t feel anything emotional until it was all over and I knew we were fine.

Things get REALLY scary when you KNOW for a FACT you are NOT fine!

Be safe out there!
