This is really neat.
Take an Uzi parts kit and modify a soup can to hold all the parts together in a nice tidy package, and making an interesting little display “Gun” (quotes because the receiver is the part that is the “Gun”, and of course this unit is non-functional)
Also I suspect that even this soup can will make the antis cry and fear-pee!
I first raised the idea here, Today the antis will be doing their best to light candles to “Stop Gun Violence”. First up I take offense to the term “Gun Violence” as it ignores so much violence for the sake of pure politics, and second, what does a candle do by itself?
So I called for those of us who believe in tools of self-defense and who care about stopping all violence to also light a candle and snap a picture showing what tools you have to back up your desire to prevent violence.
The turn out is HUMBLING! I’ve already seen a ton of submissions and pages up, as well as heard the pledges of many who said they’ll join me today. Because of the extent of the submissions You’ll need to click on the page break. So without further ado, Let us light a candle to prevent violence!

What would you ban here to prevent this?
The Cleveland woman accused of backing her car into people in a line at a McDonald’s restaurant was convicted Friday of six counts of felonious assault…Johnson brandished scissors and threatened the two teenagers in line at the restaurant, which caused a fight.
When restaurant employees tried to intervene, Matthews climbed into her car and shifted into reverse, hitting the restaurant owner, two employees, a security guard and a bystander.
The owner suffered swelling and bleeding on the brain. An employee got a cut on his head and a broken wrist.
So what to ban? Cars? Scissors? Fast Food Restaurants?
Maybe its simply foolish to focus on the tools. Cars and scissors don’t kill people…people do!

Former Presidential candidate Al Gore is known for everything from inventing the Internet to alerting the world to the harsh realities of global warming. Now he’s collaborating with the creatives of PSFK on “Gaming For Good”, challenging companies to create new games that address the same issues facing his Climate Reality Project – and also being fun to play.
I can see him BURNING up sales and competing with games like Angry Birds, and Call of Duty. *snicker*
Can you imagine if Fat Al was smart enough to be embarrassed?
The Supreme Court will be ruling on the use of “sniffer” dogs.
The US Supreme Court is to decide if the use of sniffer dogs outside public homes amounts to an illegal search.
My big issue is dogs don’t speak English, and dogs don’t sign affidavits, and while I’ve heard of dogs being put down for various reasons, Perjury is not one of them. The bottom line is if the dogs get excited the cops see that as probable cause. My issue is the dogs have a LOT of false alarms, as well as can take cues from the excitement of their owners (not even necessarily deceitful but pup can see officer friendly really thinks he has Sumdood the Drug Kingpin nailed, and react to that).
Really they’re a convenient tool of the police state, and there are NO checks against abusive use of police dogs. That’s enough to call it quits on them.
Have a read of this story.
A Cleveland restaurant owner shot and killed a gun-waving customer Thursday just hours after Democratic hopefuls for Cuyahoga County prosecutor had gathered in an adjacent party room for a candidate forum….Police say Abrams, who had a lengthy criminal record for guns, theft, drugs and violence, became upset and argued with employees after ordering food. He left and returned about 15 minutes later armed with two loaded handguns.
Abrams threatened employees, including Nelson, who shot Abrams in the chest with a shotgun, police said.
So we have a violent criminal who is barred from having guns, not to mention deadly threat, assault, and lord knows whatever other mayhem he would have done if not stopped.
Meanwhile, Ohio being moderately friendly to guns and gun owners, the store owner was able to keep a firearm for just this occasion, and used it, saving who knows how many lives.
Gun control laws only disarm the law abiding. Allowing liberal gun laws means the good guys can shoot back!
Carry your guns, People, because you ARE the good guys!
I keep following this story, and it seems every time I check the wires, I’m rewarded, and every turn it looks more and more like it was a jackboot raid rather than a lawful arrest.
First Reason is dropping the hammer on the SWAT team. Go read the whole thing as they provide a LOT of background on how the local door-kickers operate, including linking this video.
That murder was ruled “Justified”. Remember you’re allowed to defend yourself when a criminal kicks down your door…but if the person kicking down your door is Police, then they’ll kill you!
And more from the parents. It does appear he had the standard depression and anxiety, and was choosing to treat it with marijuana rather than drugs. I’ll just say as I type this I’m currently treating my ADD with Caffeine rather than deal with the cost and side-effects of prescription medication for what is essentially similar results…and a better taste! But overall it seems that besides smoking, and growing an illegal weed, he was an upstanding citizen.
This is VERY telling tho:
The Stewarts have not been allowed to see their son at an undisclosed hospital. And they don’t know what happened when the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force entered the house with a search warrant.
Michael Stewart said his son kept a handgun for protection. But he said that his son’s shotgun had been in his parents’ possession for years and he didn’t have any automatic weapons.
Michael and Sonja Stewart say they can’t understand why the strike force would execute a search warrant the way that it did, knocking down the door and rushing into the residence.
If Matthew Stewart was sleeping or listening to music in his back room, there is a good chance they would not have heard police announce their arrival.
“If they had done some research, why not arrest him at Walmart?” Michael Stewart said.
“I’m hoping the citizens of this state can look at what’s happened here and rethink the drug war,” he added. “Are we losing the drug war?”
This is looking more and more like the wanton abuse of Police power. If they didn’t feel like they might encounter armed resistance, why bring a SWAT team? If they felt the suspect was armed and dangerous…but was gainfully employed in the community, why not arrest him at work or while he drove on public streets? And why again for somebody who was growing a few pot plants?
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
First Reported by Uncle but sent to me by Wallphone as a “Gun Death”.
“This photo is a picture of a man who is strapped to a chair naked inside a jail for hours with a hood over his face. That evokes thoughts of being tortured,” says Cleveland-based lawyer Nick DiCello who represents the Christie family.
The photo, which was obtained by FOX 13’s investigative unit, was taken in the final hours of Christie’s life.
The District 21 Medical Examiner ruled his death was a homicide because he had been restrained and sprayed with pepper sprayed by law enforcement officers. But to this day, nobody has ever been charged with a crime, and the Lee County State Attorney cleared the sheriff’s office of any wrong doing.
The man had some mental illness and was off his meds. He was arrested for drunken and disorderly contact, which makes perfect sense. What doesn’t make any sense is why he was restrained naked in a chair and sprayed with pepper spray until he died, or why nobody has been fired or even disciplined for this.
Brutal, but not a “Gun Death”, as if that matters…. Hopefully the family will find some semblance of justice.
