Crap!

At work. Network is still down, phones are still messed up, and we still have a bunch of critical equipment that’s down.

Gonna be a long day.

More Strange Weather

Man still haven’t gotten the blog wheels turning quite yet.

Still, we had a good haul of Trick-or-Treaters last night. A bunch of little kids (most of whom had snow suits under their costumes) and several older kids, which I like to see. I still used to dress up and go door-to-door even in High School and it just turns from one form of good clean fun to another where you and your buddies work to cover as much ground and gather as much candy, all while wearing something strange.

Who can argue with that?

There is STILL snow on the ground, but its melting during the day as its been nice and sunny. So we have seasonably warm weather, trees with leaves on them (and most of them are still green) and snow on the ground, and lots of people with their power out and worried about their pipes freezing.

Seriously its surreal up here.

“Gun Death” Steak Knife

Why would anybody have a steak knife, they’re only used TO KILL!

Spirles fatally stabbed Biggs once in the neck with a steak knife. Biggs, known as “Daye-Daye” by family and friends, was taken from the apartment to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery and later died.

Now of course those who hate freedom mention that a steak knife is made to cut food while a gun is made to kill. (We could argue the validity of that statement, but I’ll just defer back to my “What’s Wrong With Killing?” argument.) But of course I’ve never killed anything, man or beast, with my guns. I also managed to eat various foodstuffs with a steak knife in my hand without fatal bloodshed.

My point of course is that there is a reason why these people refuse to look at the people who commit these crimes, and always at the tool.

Swamp People Rules!

So while in Buxton I watched a LOT of the History Show “Swamp People”

I was particularly taken by this specimen:

So much that my Friend Mel drew me in his traditional attire.

Also many may have seen it before, but this is my favorite work by her. We were talking about Watchmen and how the comic was draw so harsh and gritty, so I asked her to draw an idealistic and comical version of the Watchmen

The bookend to this piece was inspired by an Italian fishermen I worked with who was the SPITTING image of Super Mario…well if Super Mario wasn’t drawn in such a comic and idealistic fashion:

BTW you’ll notice in the Swamp People picture I’m accompanied by an Italian Greyhound , there’s a reason for that.

Enjoy!

Ice Cream Machine Is Snowed In

The house is fine, but work got nailed by the snow and falling branches. A lot of amenities are down, and there’s a lot of drugery to keep the wheels turning.

More later when I get home.

“Gun Death” House Fight

No guns in this story, so I’m amazed there was a death.

A MAN who savagely stabbed his casual housemate 25 times during a drug-fuelled rage has been sentenced to nine-and-a-half years jail today.

Now here’s the question that should get your blood to run cold: How long do you suppose he’ll be in the joint before they decide he’s turned his life around and let him free?

Maybe he will reform himself…but I know lots of people, and none of them have stabbed a housemate to death in a drug-fueled rage. That seems like a bit of a big deal.

Strange Weather

Well man I’ve been having a hell of a time this weekend. Wally, Waldo, Sam, and myself all hit the range. Wally had finished all the work on my FAL and it functioned flawlessly. I’ll have to get some glamor shots up of it soon. We had a good time, but it was cold. We packed up and headed to the Buxton compound where we shot the breeze until dinner when a delightfully large gathering of people showed up and burgers and merriment were had.

Oh and it started snowing.

fairly hard.

The power went out during the night and I found myself taking an early morning bathroom stop by the light of my phone’s LED flash light.

When the gang had all woken up the power was still out. I noted that I could see Waldo’s breath…and I could see my own. Meanwhile Mrs. Weer’d was in Portland at her Mother’s house and she called and noted they had power. Waldo called his Dad and he had power, so we simply abandoned the house and parted ways.

Was about 5″ of snow in Buxton, looks closer to 2-3″ here in Portland. Should all melt by Wednesday.

Still amazing seeing green leaves covered in snow. Fall didn’t even stand a chance.

So yeah we’re having lunch at my Parent’s house then heading for home.

And in light of the snowfall, a song!

“Gun Death” School Zone

Those who hate freedom often say we not only need to keep guns of school grounds, but keep them as far away from school grounds as possible.

Drake Benton, 24, was knifed multiple times at about 8 p.m. and left to die on a sidewalk south of the Manteca High School campus in a neighborhood often frequented by homeless people.

BTW I carry a gun because when the thug comes at me with a knife I can go home to my wife and my bed that night.

Hey, but this isn’t a “Gun Death” so it doesn’t count, right?

Smell That in the Air?

So my hosts put me up in what is their armory.

Right now I’m in a guest bed surrounded by a few dozen guns. Not a lock on any of them.

Injuries = None

Funny how reality works.

“Gun Death” More From China

This link is both ugly and has some NSFW Content.

A Chinese truck driver who ran over and killed a 5-year-old boy has been accused of deliberately reversing over the child after hitting him to ensure he would not have to pay his medical costs.

Yeah and that’s the straight scoop. The eyewitness accounts are far worse.

Hey but it isn’t a “Gun Death”, and China is still enjoying its low “Gun Death” rate. Tho I’m not sure if those in the Anti-Freedom Pro-Ignorance camp count China as a “Developed Nation”.
