“Gun Death” Decapitation

Doesn’t say the weapon, but its pretty hard to decapitate somebody with a gun.

A 7-year-old boy with cerebral palsy and other disabilities including not being able to speak was decapitated, and his biological father has confessed to the killing, police in Thibodaux, Louisiana, said Monday.

The child’s head was found Sunday by the side of a city street, detective Ricky Ross said.

Totally sick story. But no guns were used, so we can disregard, right?

Glock 21 Gen 4

Another Neat Video:

Now I’ll say I am not a Glock fan, personally I don’t like their grip angle, how boxy and heavy they are for the size gun they are, and I don’t like that they have unsupported chambers.

Now all of those above things are my personal observations, and really only have a bearing on me and people like me. I know lots of people who carry, use, and shoot Glock pistols, and I can’t fault them a wit.

Still there has been a bunch of chatter about the Gen 4 Glocks having some reliability issues. Hickock notes this saying his Glock 19 Gen 4 needed some breaking in before it became reliable.

Still it looks like this 21 runs like a champ, so maybe the rumors of Glocks demise are greatly exaggerated.

Conceal Carry: Push Your Comfort Zone

So here I am watching this video by Hickock45, wearing shorts, t-shirt, cover shirt and my 1911.

Great video, watch the whole thing, Hickock knows his shit, and is just a wizard with a pistol.

As you know I’m a strong subscriber of the “Carry all the time” philosophy. If I knew when I’d encounter trouble, I simply would avoid trouble and go about my time care-free filled with bliss.

I have been in situations where suddenly I was VERY glad to have a gun on my person, and never expected that time and place to be a place where things might get a little scary.

Now the old adage goes “Nobody wishes they had a smaller gun or less ammo in a gunfight”. So it goes without saying that not only should you carry your gun at all time, you should carry the BIGGEST gun, and as many reloads as are practical as often as you can.

There are some times where it just isn’t practical or convenient to carry the big gun. And at times I mean simply convenient. If I’m outside in the heat for the better part of the day the straps of my shoulder holster collect sweat and heat, and the cover garment doesn’t help anything. There are times when I may have been perfectly dressed for concealment, but decided to take off the gun (Like when I change into my workout clothes and exercise), and then decide I need to run in town for an errand, or to pick up a pizza to negate said workout. I may not want to throw on my whole heavy rig for a 5 min outing.

Don’t make yourself miserable trying to be the ultimate ninja. Just note that if you CAN carry more gun, maybe you should.

So this summer I’ve tried to carry my 1911 every day I could. You may remember this post where I discussed my summer carry method for my 1911.

I first had some apprehension, say at carrying at work. I thought that maybe the shirt would look a little strange, or maybe the gun would print JUST ENOUGH to tip somebody off.

Still I pushed that comfort a bit. I’ve been carrying in this method for several years now, and with a properly sized and cut shirt is isn’t an issue so I took a chance.

Not only do I have the added comfort of knowing I’m carrying my trusty .45 with me, as well as two easily accessed reloads, but now I have a nice pocket for my phone as I listen to podcasts while I work!

So if you’re only carrying a smaller, weaker gun, see if you can carry a bit larger a gun, and see if you can work a reload or two into your outfit.

Also if you don’t live in a hostile carry environment like I do, maybe you should give open carry a try.

Push your comfort zone a little, and you’ll be surprised at how much territory you can claim as “Comfortable”.

Not only will you be prepared to protect your lives and other, but you’ll be happier while you do it.

And of course if you push your limit and find you don’t much like it, you also learned something about yourself. Certainly comfort and convenience are a MUST for every-day-carry.

Be Safe!

“Gun Death” Bag Man

Again Kids aren’t very resilient creatures, so its not like you even need a firearm to commit murder.

A 43-year-old Missouri man told police that he suffocated his 3-year-old neighbor with a plastic bag, then stuffed her body in the same bag and tossed her from a highway, according to a court document.

A disgusting tale. Would it have been worse if he had used a gun?

Do you think we need “Common Sense Bag Control”?

Her claim to fame is as a singer with George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars.

Racism LOL

I found this commercial in a youtube wander, made me laugh, so I thought I’d share:

That’s just some good-natured crazy!

More Double-Standards

Just heard through Joan Peterson that her Joyce AstroTurf group Protect Minnesota is endorsing this petition.

We are asking Minnesota’s largest employers to enact the following set of Fair Hiring Practices:

1: Remove any questions about criminal records from initial employment applications;
2: Do not consider non-conviction records or cases that have been expunged or pardoned in the hiring process;
3: Consider criminal records only when they directly relate to the position sought by an applicant;
4: Allow applicants to show evidence of rehabilitation, if a person does have a criminal record related to the position being sought.

Now notice that as a Joyce group they are opposed to private sales of firearms, and opposed to self defense. This group was also in favor of permission slips and taxes on people buying and owning guns, and the arbitrary denial of rights.

So they don’t want you armed or defending yourself, but they’re perfectly willing to demand that violent criminals work in the same office as you.

BTW this is REALLY scary. My office is one of those 100% lock-down places where all outside traffic needs to be buzzed in by a receptionist, or escorted by an employee with a security badge.

Overall this makes it moderately safe from outside attack (tho no security is 100%), but what about INSIDE attack? We had a mentally ill coworker have a psychotic episode during a work day. Besides scaring a lot of people, and disrupting a great deal of work the event was handled without incident.

Still this person was freely walking in the secure areas, as they were cleared. The same could be said about a violent criminal working in your office.

Also I 100% agree with point #2…except people like Joan Peterson, and the Joyce Foundation, strongly support the “Terror Watchlist” which punishes people for non-convictions, as well as vague associations, like name similarity, and identity theft, and who knows what else.

Again this shows that the groups that are anti-gun are also consistently pro-criminal.

Nanny-State Silly

I just found this video

That’s for the Hyundai Veloster

The car is different from many competitors as it has one door on the driver side and two on the passenger side.

So the commercial implies that people are too stupid to not walk in front of oncoming traffic (it could simply be a design detail that was reasoned by marketing people).

Still for such a situation that can be solved by opening one’s eyes, it implies that if 4 people are riding in the car the person sitting behind the driver will have to shimmy across the seat to enter and leave. This goes for parking lots and driveways. Also if you’re a person who stuff their car full of stuff to go on trips, it’ll be a royal PITA to load and unload the vehicle.

All in the name of “Safety”. Durrrr!

“Gun Death” Weed Trimmer

This one made a lot of noise, and Uncle beat me to it and it was submitted by both Bob and chiefjaybob.

Still its a good one, so I’m gonna roll with it.

A Woodridge man is accused of killing his father over the weekend, repeatedly beating him with a weed trimmer while he slept on a futon in their home, police said.

When I first read the headline I wondered “HOW?”, given that even gas-powered string-trimmers aren’t capable of making deep wounds. Still if you use it as a club it can be a VERY lethal weapon. This goes double if your target is sleeping.

See also: Wrench, pipe, screwdriver, kitchen knife, tire iron, hammer, axe, stepstool, high-heel shoe, etc etc etc.

In a world where guns don’t exist horrible violence still will.
