Wow I’m the #3 Search Result for “Assault Clips” after first the Brady Campaign who invented the term, and the Youtube video I meantioned in my “Assault Clips” post.
So Mike W. links this video of a young girl getting sexually assaulted by the TSA.
Don’t skip the video, watch how the TSA goon sticks her hands down the girl’s shirt and pants. When I was that age the school was teaching me to tell an adult if such behavior happened. This is not only sexual assault of a minor, but a blatant violation of the 4th Amendment. They have no grounds or probable cause to touch this girl in this way. If a sworn police officer was to do EXACTLY this he would be looking at termination.
Now the real grossness is that Thirdpower links to the “Protest Easy Guns” Twitter where they are outraged that this is happening. (Bonus points for “Buying guns as easily as candybars” bit I never knew I could go to federal prison for buying a candybar, or selling one. I’ve done a good deal of both too!)
You see the anti-freedom crowd only cares about THEIR freedom. They often say “I’m a gun owner but…” The but being they want the laws to be fine on how they use THEIR gun, but those OTHER gun rights should be restricted. They don’t like the comparison of the dangers of firearms ownerships and gun ownership….why? Because they drive cars. Anti-Freedom people fly to visit relatives and vacation spots, they often bring their children with them…they don’t go to gun shops, gun shows, or gun ranges.
They frequently say “most people support my views…” and by “Most people” they mean “Myself, and my hand-picked cadre of like-minded friends”
All about them. Can you imagine if monsters like this could get their wishes? I do, its happened before, lots of times
That’s pretty sad, Kaveman. It illustrates all the more why conceal carry is a bad idea. We are allowing people with potentially no hands-on training at all not only to possess guns at home but on the street as well, ready to shoot. Do you not see a problem with this??

Now let me give Baldr a lesson on how to see a problem. Does Oregon have higher gun-handling accidents (specifically with people who have valid CCW permits) than other states?
Does Oregon have higher instances of defensive shootings going horribly wrong (as in innocent people being hurt or killed because of horrendous marksmanship or gun handling) than other states.
I used to be one of them. I grew up in Maine, which has a Shall-issue permit system, but they require you to take the NRA Basic Pistol training course (which includes live-fire) to get your permit. I thought this sounds pretty reasonable. It even makes some logical sense.
Until I looked at New Hampshire to the south that requires NO training to get your permit….or Vermont to the West which doesn’t even HAVE a permit system, if you take a training course in Vermont its 100% because you want to take a course.
Sorry, there isn’t any significant difference. Wanna know why? If people want training they’ll get training. Maybe from a certified instructor, maybe from a friend or family member who is experienced. If people don’t want training, they won’t train. Are there any amount of classes somebody can be forced to take that will do ANY good if the student doesn’t apply themselves outside of class?
Ask me something in French. I took a year of it, and I can’t say more than a handfull of words. Ask me to Conjugate a Latin verb…you’d think I could do that since I took 4 years of it, right? Think again, its been almost 15 years since I conjugated anything in Latin.
Oh, and taking foreign language was a mandate in public schools.
Do I not see a Problem with this??? Sorry Baldr that isn’t a rhetorical question. I see no problem with a state waiving the requirement for mandatory training. I see no problem with states waiving their entire permit system.

So I thought I’d pile on to the latest Brady Campaign Video “Ban Assault Clips”
I thought we’d count the lies. First let’s overlook the emotional stupidity of the video, like the various human-shaped targets, and how the man with the Glock takes on a menacing snarl as he shoots.
Lie #1. “A Magazine that Allows a Gun to fire 32 shots in less than 16 seconds”, well the magazines don’t actually do shit they hold the ammo. When aligning the sights of my FAL I loaded up a pair of 20 round magazines and took about 40 mins to shoot all of them, meanwhile somebody with skill can easily shatter that time with limited magazines So the magazines are irrelevant.
Lie #2 “Only good for one thing, killing a lot of people fast”. Which is what police officers do? Which is what the millions of people who own pistols, and rifles that hold more than 10 rounds do? If that was all they were good for we wouldn’t have much of a population would we? Also Seems that lots of instances where there were a lot of people killed fast, magazines that are compliant with anti-gunners were used. Also to that we can add the School Shooting in Brazil, where a pair of six-shot revolvers were used.
Lie #3: “That’s something we can live without: Assault Clips” ummm “Assault Clips”? You mean like this? Its a made-up term. Hell they even correctly call it a Magazine at the beginning of the video. Still how does a magazine do ANYTHING? There are no “Four rules of magazine safety”. Sorry they don’t do much outside of their gun, let alone assault anybody or anything.
Lie #4: “They make everybody a target”: Ummm, how does the magazine loaded in the gun have anything to do with how its used? Let’s say you’re mugged walking home, if the mugger has a revolver are you safe? I carry a 1911 with 8-round magazines, does this mean I’m defenseless? Collin Goddard was shot from a ban-limeted 10-round Glock magazine, what’s he whining about?
That’s about all the blatant lies. Here’s one more that’s more of a half-truth.
They show a glock getting loaded up with a 32-round Glock magazine, but the laws the Brady camp are pushing ban anything that holds more than 10 rounds. This was the exact same shell game the Brady Campaign did back in the 90s when they’d show somebody shooting a full-auto rifle, and then they’d talk about banning semi-auto rifle.
Sorry, they’re after your magazines, and since 10 rounds is a 100% arbitrary number they’re playing “The Numbers Game”, and they’re just as willing to make up another arbitrary restriction. Frankly they’re going to ban all guns, hence why they’re being so dishonest in all their media. Heck they won’t even let you comment or rate the above video. They’re so dishonest they can’t even show the world how popular they are.
They are liars, and they know it. Don’t give them an inch!
Looks like Mitt Romney is going to be running for President….again.
Will you join me in not voting for this big-government asshole? Unless of course you like higher taxes, bigger government, and hate private firearm ownership…which is handy when this is the jerk who coined the idea that the government should force you at gun-point to buy Heath Insurance against your will, wouldn’t want a populace capable of saying “No” simply because such a demand is Unconstitutional.
If forced into it I will vote for Barack Obama over Mitt Romney. This is not hyperbole, this is the truth. You see I moved to Massachusetts shortly after Mr. Romney was elected Governor, and witnessed all the tax hikes, gun bans, Romneycare, and of course the strong adherence of the ultra-liberal anti-freedom status quo.
Then Romney attempted to run for President, and we got Governor Deval Patrick, I’ve often called this physical and mental midget “Barack Obama Jr” because he really is just a scale model of our current president. He grew up in Chicago (What’s scary is he sound EXACTLY like Criminal Governor Rod Blagojevich), he’s African American, and a racist, and was elected mostly on his speaking ability, and his chants of “Hope and Change” and “Together we Can”. Of course being Massachusetts he held office to a Democrat Supermajority in the Legislature, and despite this partisan rout, he didn’t bother getting anything done, and instead chose to buy himself lavish gifts on the tax payer’s dime, and go on elaborate junkets.
While Deval Patrick (and Barack Obama) are my ideological enemies, I like Patrick much better than Romney, because while Romney is not such a hard-line socialist as either of them, he’s also not a lazy jet-setter more interested in living the life of luxury than actually using the power of office. So while Obama and Patrick might pose a bigger threat to me in their “Perfect World” Romney has the resume that say he WILL create his own Authoritarian Utopia.
I won’t let that happen, and instead will vote for President Stupid to fly to exotic lands to bow to foreign leaders, and give meaningless speeches, than this guy who will actually push and sign laws that limit human rights.
