Neat Video

Caleb has a post of of him competing with his Colt 1911

According to him the cold temperatures caused his gun to gum up causing the failures in the video.

Still he handled them well, making for an interesting video. The expletive at the end doesn’t hurt either!

Serious LOLz

OK Robb posted this link, and the wife and I laughed our asses off.

We’re huge Dune fans, and the wife loved “Goodnight Moon” (Baby Weer’d thought it was a tad dull…adult Weer’d does appreciate its young eye-closing ability)

Factor in that while the sisters were having sister-time this weekend I was reading betime stories.

That is the critical mass of LOLz!

Talk About the Weathah!

Well had a great time with family in Vermont, but DAMN did the weather suck. First up, I thought we had a lot of snow, ho-lee-shit was there some snow up there. It rained most of the time we were up there and was chilly all day, and fucking COLD at night. Then when it was time to leave hell broke lose, and we had freezing-rain (and I mean SERIOUS freezing rain, as the power lines had 2-inch icicles handing from them inside of an hour of the rain starting) then snow, and BIG snow.

It was really hairy for the first hour of driving, but then the snow turned to rain (and the glare ice turned to wet tar) and eventually we got home.

Meanwhile here its 55 and light rain, which feels downright tropical. Our snowbanks are receding like crazy (and our basement is dry, and the storm drains are holding up well). I just put my recycling bins out where there was one a couch 6 feet in the air, and my Adirondack chairs are nearly exposed.

I’m happy to see winter’s tail-lights!

“Gun Deaths” Fights Turn Deadly

The anti-rights beasts say we need to concentrate on “Gun Death” and “Gun Crime” because guns are different because they can turn common fights deadly.

A freshman at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro is in jail, charged in the stabbing death of her roommate, a Lady Raider basketball player….Joe Brandon said the roommates started fighting when Madden turned the knife in Stewart’s possession onto her.

A judge agreed to Brandon’s request that Madden be photographed by police to document her swollen eyes and an abrasion above her left eye as proof of the fight.

Yep

“Gun Death” Waiting Period

We often talk about waiting periods so people don’t do something rash in the heat of the moment.

Toni Hindman bought a 6-inch hunting knife just one day before using it to take the lives of her husband, their 12-year-old daughter and herself.

Why would you have a hunting knife, you can’t….oh shit, I guess people do hunt with them.

Well we need to have waiting periods before people can buy knives. That certainly would have stopped this!

“Gun Death” Too Easy

One argument I’ve heard for using the metric “Gun Death” is because guns make murder so easy. Other implements simply can’t be used for murder in the heat of the moment.

Madison police are investigating the apparent stabbing death of a 23-year-old man after a fight at a south side gas station this weekend….Investigators say they believe the man was stabbed during a large fight involving several people at the BP station in the 300 block of South Park Street at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 27.

Let’s face it Murder is not a natural state. The vast majority of people find the idea of killing another person abhorrent and will avoid it at all costs. A fraction of one-percent of the people out there don’t have this distaste for killing and doing harm. These people will kill by any means available. If they can get a gun they will shoot…if a knife they’ll stab. If they are behind the wheel of a car they will run people down.

The tools are NOT relevant….unless they’re what you’re reaching for to defend yourself.

Sorry MORE guns is a better solution.

Amusements Whilst Shopping

So First up I gotta talk about Sylvia

I don’t want to comment about her cooking because I haven’t tried her various food items, they might be awesome for all I know….but I must question her judgment. If you looked like Sylvia, would you put your banged-up face on your product labels?

Also saw this one the other day:

All I could think was “Hurry Hurry Hurry! Try My Rice and Curry! Buy one for two, special price for you!”

Just for LOLz!

“Gun Death” Infantacide

Just a Gross Story from India.

Upon being strangled to death moments after she was born, a newborn girl was dumped in a garbage bin at the Mapusa municipal market late Friday night.

Yep, another “Gun Death”.

Failure or Sucess

I wonder about this story.

A Taurus XL rocket that blasted off from Vandenberg Air Force Base early today experienced a failure that doomed a NASA satellite’s mission to study global climate change.

I wonder, with all the science pointing that “Global Climate Change” at least how the .gov envisions it is fabricated bullshit. Given that NASA is 100% dependent of the tit of the .gov to fund its piggishly expensive projects, is a failed rocket designed to kill the golden goose a “Failure”?

Now they’ll get money to build another one…that might meet a horrible accident with space debris inside the first year of study….
