Ben Franklin said that the only things in life that are certain are Death and Taxes. I would argue that Anti-Gun Bloggers moderating or removing comments I’d say is just as certain.
Back here we got a rambling comment from one William Buster, his comment didn’t make one ounce of sense to me, and neither did his blog posts. Back when I first read them I recollect there was a comments section, but I decided I’d only comment when I saw something worth talking about. Now there are no comment section and there’s this post.
I throw little AT them, they throw every argument AT ME. Whatever. Save it!!!! You will never convince me that ANYTHING short of Brady Bill was even a START at Gun Control.
Open minds, and support for gun control are mutually exclusive, hence the closed comment section.
The way people react to the mention of Gun Laws conjures up images of Mountain Folk living in a depressed rural environment, huddled in drafty cabins, with shotguns poking out of the window, fearful of all that live beyond their range of sight. I just don’t see how ranting at someone like an Evangelical Christian is going to accomplish anything. Everyone thinks their interpretation of GOD is the right one, and the others are WRONG. Same with guns.
You’ll note in the whole post the only fact stated was his Brother-in-law was shot and killed. Back when I supported gun control I did THAT on faith, it was only when I did research (to beat back those goofy “red necks”) did I realize that I was on the wrong side. Sorry Bill, but the numbers say that if you’re a lawful gun owner and you follow the basic safety precautions you’re much better off having guns than not having them. This graph is probably one of the most easily understood, and conclusive. But, by all means, don’t trust Linoge, go have a look at his numbers and see if you can make an argument.
ALL LOBBYISTS must be stopped. ALL SPECIAL INTERESTS must be stopped.They have no more right to influence legislation than cocaine dealers do.
Really? So its bad for lobbies to draft bills and discuss with political representatives about their issue? Obviously you don’t like the NRA working for gun rights….but what about lobbyists for Gay Marriage? Medical Marijuana? Senior Citizen rights? Universal Healthcare? Tax Incentives for job creation?
There are lots of political lobbies out there. I don’t support all, or most of them, but I must respect them. I work for a living, so I can’t be spending my time in Washington fighting for my rights, so I simply hire others to do the job for me. One of those groups is the NRA ILA. If you don’t support “Special Interest Lobbies”, I must ask you, why not? Obviously you know little and care little about the 2nd Amendment, but you must have causes you do care deeply about. And certainly the comparison of Civil Rights groups who lobby for the 2nd Amendment with a criminal activity such as dealing in Cocaine. (now if there was a legalize Cocaine Lobby, I’d be fine with that, but you’re comparison is comparing you local tap-room with Al Capone’s Rum-Running Mafia…)
Well, First, AGAIN, listen, I support responsible gun ownership.
I’m the Queen of England. Saying something doesn’t make it so. Saying something that you have constantly contradicted is nothing but foolish.
I wish you well Bill, but I can’t support your twisted view of the 2nd Amendment, nor do I appreciate your bigoted view of myself and my family and friends. Obviously you follow your site hits so you’ll read this. I will respectfully ask that if you desire to comment on my blog, bring facts, and a desire to debate. You avoid facts, don’t allow comments, and your comment here was a hit-and-run with no follow-up to to the many good discussion points.
You speak ill of blind faith, but you appear to show nothing but when it comes to that issue.
I’m a man of science and reason, and I have little use for blind faith, not yours, and not the blind faith of others. If that’s all you have, you can keep it!
