Hey Bill, if you hate human rights, just admit it like a vice. “Hi I’m Bill Maher and I’m a totalitarian!” don’t feel the need to lie about it and push Brady Campaign boilerplate. Just come out and say it, you’ll feel a lot better.
Or better yet, go take a midnight stroll through Gun Control Havens like Central Park New York, or South Central LA, and then maybe we can talk about Glocks….if you survive all the gun control….

I talked about here how the Anti-Gun people are doing whatever they can to make political gains and make money from the emotions in the aftermath of the Arizona Shooting. Well I just listened to a radio interview with Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America do essentially the same thing. He had an opportunity to talk about gun politics, and gun control, as well as give sympathy to the victims, and maybe talk about self-defense. He did talk about the last bit, and did mention that people like Carolyn McCarthy were releasing legislation soon. But he used most of his time to simply attack Democrats including Congresswoman Giffords.
Hearing this in the wake of actions like this solidify my feelings for GOA.
I will never join GOA as long as I live. I will ask all my friends who are members of GOA to rescind their membership, or simply let the membership lapse. They are a classless organization, as well as a group centered completely around political divisiveness, and have accomplished nothing, nor will they accomplish nothing.
I am a NRA Life-Member, but they have upset me in the past. Still they are starting to get the point, also unlike GOA and other groups they are not simply a political group, they also do safety training, maintain shooting clubs, hunting grounds, and run shooting sports. While I’m a bit luke-warm on their politics, I do strongly support the NRA in their outreach to gun ownership and gun safety, as well as gun sports.
If you want to take a more politically aggressive route I strongly recommend everybody join the Second Amendment Foundation. (I am a life-member, and it was only $150) They are the group behind Heller, McDonald, and many other large Second Amendment Victories. While they don’t have the membership numbers of the NRA, they are really the big political dog out there right now, and if you’re not a member you really should be!
Of course there is your local 2nd Amendment group. Here in Mass its GOAL (I am also a life-member of GOAL), the state groups are actually the groups that will most impact your gun rights issues on a day-to-day as most gun issues are state and local ones.
Another Group I love is the Second Amendment Sisters My wife has a family membership to this group that includes me, and it was a Second Amendment Sisters Introductory shoot that really got my wife into shooting. I worked as an instructor at that shoot and it was a really rewarding day for me, as well as the 20+ women who attended.
I am not a member of Pink Pistols but I really like what they stand for.
All-in-all there are many great organizations for you to join that actually support gun rights, rather than just stump for Republicans and bash other 2nd Amendment Organizations.
If you are a Member of GOA, I can understand why you may have joined, but I believe you have made a mistake. Rescind your membership, and shred your renewal organizations. If you care about gun rights you should not be helping them.

Now I stand behind my statements I made here. They showed bravery and did the best with what they had. The video shows they didn’t have much. I suspect they got caught pretty flat-footed in this whole event, and were probably just looping “I can’t believe this is happening to me…I can’t believe….”
There’s some new info on the security officer, and I’ll just say I am VERY unimpressed with how he conducted himself. He saved lives, but he did a LOT of foolish things.

Latest Gun Death Comes from India where gun rights are heavily restricted.
NEW DELHI: On the grisly scale, this crime of passion is sure to shock. A twice-divorced boutique owner and mother of three clobbered her live-in partner, six years her junior, to death after he objected to her relations with another man.
The woman has three daughters from her previous marriages. While the eldest is married, the other two – aged 14 and 5 – were present in another room when the murder took place.
The calculated manner in which the woman went about disposing of the body has surprised crime branch officers who recovered the deceased’s body on Friday – two months after the crime – from a septic tank in sector 26 of Rohini.
Doesn’t say the exact murder weapon, but it certainly wasn’t a gun. Good thing guns are so restricted in India or something really bad could have happened.

There seems to be a LOT of talk about “Right Wing Hate” in the aftermath of the Arizona shooting. Also seems that people are attempting to tie political talk to the shooter which is tenuous at best. Linoge did a great post on some left-wing hate that they’d rather we forget about.
I’m personally trying to wrap my head around this nonsense.
But the Motherload comes from Michelle Malkin. Take some time and look at the whole collection.
Look at it because they’d rather you not know about this.
So the news is reporting that there was an armed civilian at the Safeway Shooting. Let’s run down some of the facts.
-When the armed citizen heard the shots he ran TOWARDS the shooting.
-When he arrived the shooter had already been disarmed, and the citizen mistook the person who has seized the gun as the shooter.
-The Citizen did not shoot anybody and held the assassin until the Police arrived.
Let’s go down the myths. This average-Joe civilian did not freeze or panic. (I won’t bother making too broad a statement on his choice to investigate the shots fired. Its a very admirable thing to do, and I hope more people do the same, but also having a concealed weapon in no way obligates you to assist strangers, or engage hostiles)
This Citizen, having mistook an innocent person for the shooter DID NOT shoot an innocent person.
This citizen did not seek our revenge, retribution, or in any way become “Trigger Happy” when finding the real shooter.
This citizen was not confused with the assassin when the police arrived, and was not shot by the police.
This is a boilerplate of myths dispensed by the anti-rights activists who wish to discourage self-defense. They want to discourage this because #1. Encouraging it would encourage gun use which they hate. #2. Encouraging it might save lives, and dead innocents is their currency, and what they use to push fundraisers, and to press for TV interviews, as well as protests, which can also lead to TV live-shots.
These are the same types of myths that say that owning a gun will mean you will likely kill a family member, or relaxing carry laws will lead to old-west shoot-outs, and people shot over parking spaces or the last toy during the holiday rush.
They want these horrible things to be true, which is bad enough, but they continue to press these lies even after it is shown that they are 100% baseless.
Man, it is really interesting looking into the twisted and deformed mind of an anti-freedom pro-ignorance pusher. Joan Peterson of the Brady Campaign and the Million Mom March Serves up another steaming pile.
Seems Joan wants to know why the NRA isn’t also demanding money while people mourn the loss of life. She’s wondering why the NRA isn’t pushing its agenda while people are upset by tragedy. She’s wondering why they aren’t bothering to refute her Brady Campaign and Joyce Foundation boilerplate.
See, Joan, some people actually have this thing called “Class” and “Dignity”. These are the kind of people who won’t use the blood of a family member to push unrelated legislation, or use the blood of innocent people to push blatant lies. These people won’t launch fundraisers hours after news strikes. These people are concerned with all violence and murder…not just “Gun Death” These are healthy normal human beings.
These are people not like you. Thankfully your affliction is a rare one…hence why your organizations are foundering…
